Eric & Chrissy - October, 2004

Sunday, October 17th

(Warning: This might be kinda long!)

Our flight was for 7:40 a.m., so we were at the airport by 5:40 a.m. I dont think we knew what we were in for yet. :-D We changed right before we boarded the plane, and Im glad we did. The heat in Jamaica was at first, unbearable! It took a little while claiming our baggage, but we made it to the SuperClubs desk where someone gave us bottled water (which was so nice but of course, a preview of what was to come). We met another couple in line who was also going to Hedonism for the first time, so we kind of mingled with each other and followed in line to the bus. The bus was a little odd mostly because we couldnt get used to the fact that A) they drive from the passenger side and B) they drive on the left hand side of the road.

We met Wendy & Russ (MICouple) in line for the bus. They were so helpful and nice, while we pestered them with questions all the way to Hedo. The bus ride was actually, pretty short compared to our ride back to the airport. We didnt stop for any Red Stripe, but that was okay because I think we were all anxious to get there!

After making our way to the front desk, and checking in, we decided to get some lunch. By that time it was after 2 oclock (the last real time I paid any attention to what time it was!) and Eric and I decided to take a walk of the resort, to see what was around. We walked down the prude beach and came upon the Nude Beach sign. We looked at each other, and realized it was do-or-die time. We looked around to see if anyone was watching, and they werent..so we promptly declothed. We didnt have the guts to make it to the nude bar yet, so we just headed right into the ocean. The water is soooo warm and calm it is like bathwater.

As we were getting in, we noticed a couple on a white raft having sex, and I think this was the first time we truly realized we were at Hedo. We stayed in the water a while, and decided to have some fun of our own, being careful no one was noticing. (what were we thinking?) We stayed in the ocean for a while, before we were courageous enough to make it to the nude side. I think this is what we found the most odd that no one noticed you in the least being nude, but everyone was so nice.

It was about this time that Winston came by yelling Naked Waterslide!!! I couldnt resist jumping up and joining them, until I realized we were walking to the prude side and my face was beat red! It was on the steps to the waterslide that I bumped into one of our first and nicest friends, Frank. Frank was so nice, and sweet and I couldnt resist smiling at his accent (Frank and Beverly are both from England). While I was doing this, Eric had dozed on the hammock on the nude side. Someone walked by giving a tour to a group of four women or so, pointing out, This is the nude beach, and this is naked volleyball, and this is a naked guy sleeping on a hammock to which Eric looked up and said groggily Huh. They women just smiled and giggled as they went by.

We had our first dirty banana (Mmmm so good!) and thankfully, a nearby gentleman caught us trying to give her a tip and politely gave us some pointers on etiquette. Im very thankful that he did. We stuck around the pool a little, before going back for dinner.

Dinner, was an experience in itself! The first thing we noticed was how over-dressed we were in just t-shirts and shorts. We were also kind of shy since so many people were saying hi to each other, and hugging each other we assumed they were old friends. We looked around at some other couples from the bus and seen they were in the same predicament. The food was good, almost great, but our stomachs were still adjusting to everything. We retired to the nude pool again, this time to have sex in the grotto.

By the time we made it back to the room, it was still quite early but we were exhausted and fell asleep quickly.

Monday, October 18th

We woke up somewhat early, still used to getting up for work I suppose, and looked at the activity sheets. We mapped out everything we wanted to do for each of our days (Catamaran Tour, Parasailing, ATV Safari, Negril Combo, Horseback riding) and decided to buy our parasailing tickets.  We made it to breakfast were we met up with Ricardo, one of the wonderful event co-ordinators we met the day before. Amazingly, we seen a lot of the people at the nude pool who greeted us and asked us how our night was. We were just now setting into the swing of things and enjoying our time. We made our way to the nude beach and floated in the ocean, where we promptly forgot everything we planned on doing! We made our way around the resort, getting a little miffed at the constant obstacle of having to put clothes back on. I think this was the night of the fashion show (the days just kind of blur together after this). The fashion show was nice, and I signed up to win gift certificates from American Express. While in line I met a very nice man who asked us if we just came yesterday. I laughed and said yes, how did you know? He said he could tell since we were still kind of uptight. I asked him how long he has been here and he told me three days, but he hasnt made it over to the nude side. I couldnt believe it and told him that it really isnt what you expect. Later that night, we seen him over there and smiled.

Rest of the week: (Tuesday to Friday)

I wish I could remember every little thing that we did but honestly, sometime Tuesday time stopped and we couldnt fathom what day it even was. I know that all of the activities we had set out to do were no longer of interest to us. Why? I could tell you it was because we were happy, but, theres such a feeling of content-ness that once youre doing what youre doing, you dont want to be doing anything else! We spent most of the week floating in the ocean, hanging out at the nude pool, and catching the hot tub at night. (sometimes days, too).

Tuesday we did the catamaran tour which was fantastic beautiful trip in itself, but then you go snorkeling, and visit the caves, and it was justunbelieavable. I remember that we were absolutely in love with the viewof the ocean, of the cliffs, of the beautiful buildings along the coast line, of the sun.  Rastafari Ralph (was that his name? I cant remember!) was doing reggae on the boat, and we hopped into the net at the front of the catamaran that you can lay in as the net skims the water while it moves.

The following catamaran tour that Thursday was a sunset cruise, where we enjoyed the beautiful sunset from the ocean and visited the cliffs once more. This time, I decided to do the cliff diving! I managed the courage to get to the top before realizing I really, really didnt want to do it anymore! However, looking down at our boat, and another two boats from other resorts, I couldnt back out. Frank started yelling You can do it Chrissy! and that made all the boats begin chanting Chrissy! Chrissy! Chrissy!. Argh couldnt back out after that! I would love to see who has the video for that one!

Tuesday night we made it to the pajama party with costumes to boot but I had too much liquor during the day and fell asleep on the bathroom floor. We missed our dinner reservations with our friends Frank & Beverly that I was really looking forward to. I managed to crawl to the pajama party, but not for too long. I much rather would have stayed and enjoyed it!

Thursday we made it to Toga night and that was an absolute blast. Between almost everyone in togas, and the entertainment given by the staff it was fantastic. In fact, we joined a couple we met earlier during the week at their table, and soon enough a few other couples we had met also joined us. It could not have been a better night.

We made our own naked waterslide procession around 11ish, which was a blast! Somehow going naked down a waterslide makes you go super fast because clothes just slow you down.

Our last night at the nude pool, we admired a group of three women having a good time together at the enjoyment of their watching partners. It was quite a show, and a couple watching from the side asked if the wife could join in, to which they all promptly said yes. When we finally made it back to our room, our eviction papers were there letting us know when to have our bags by the door.

This was perhaps the saddest part of our trip realizing we had to go home. The next day was full of packing, breakfast, checking out, and spending our last few hours in the ocean. We enjoyed one last lunch of fresh grilled lobster from Roberts, and a few more bananas before we passed on the last of our monetary thank yous and made our way to the front desk.

The ride was dismal, as we were all miserable. So was the flight, but we are sure that is because we were so upset to have to leave. We truly cannot wait to go back home again!
