Richard - December, 2003

On the trip down we lost a watch and a book on the plane, not too auspicious. We arrived at the resort about 5:30 P.M. .We noticed that the ocean was rough with waves, which were highly unusual. The weather was a little cooler than in the summer, which for the most part, was a welcome change. We ate at the main dinning room and we found plenty of choice to have good food. Later on though we found dishes to avoid, such as the steaks and pork chops. Still you can get a good meal if you choose carefully. Entertainment was great, I really good steel band who knew how to arrange music. At night I couldnt sleep so I went to the hot tub, which was almost empty except for a woman and two men who were playing around, one orally and another from behind. A guard whispered something to them and they left the tub . It was the only time we saw anything like the sex police. Otherwise things tended to be wild and wooly. The second day we got up, got breakfast and went to the beach. There a met the famous Agustus who told me not to be walking on his carpet. the sand beach. Needless to way I ended up walking on it anyway. We sat on the beach and used our floats. There were an unusually large number of British here at this time. We ate Roberts famous, tasty and bad for you. ham burgs. Finally we decided it was time for a nap. We got up to see the sunset and floated some more. The show that night in the main dining room was a fashion show of sexy clothes. I suppose that only at Hedo would this be dull. At Hedo everyone is a star. Went to see Dave in the piano bar. There was some really great talent there that night. After the bar closed we went to the hot tub which was in full bloom in the tub, on the side etc. The down side was that my wife was having a reaction to the chlorine in the tub. She couldnt do into the tub for the whole vacation. BUMMER. We started the next day the same as the others, which Agustus pulling my chain again. This day we decided to take the glass bottom boat and saw the coral reef. The show in the main dining room was oldies night, which was a disappointment as it was all (shudder) disco! Ended the night at Daves. The next morning we wanted to go on the Nude Cruise. The cruise was very laid back. I had to take picture of all the crew members. They love to have their picture taken and I just couldnt say no even though it meant I was out of film for the rest of the trip. Here is where a combination of sand gravity and plain Hedoitis take over. I can only remember various incidents on the rest of the trip. That night we went to Pastafaris. We had a great meal. Tried the water slide, nude of course, and it was a rush. You really cant tell where you are on the way down as you are disoriented and have water sprayed in your face. Toward the end you see light and realized to get ready for the pool. This ride is perfectly safe as long as you dont do something stupid like going down immediately after someone or try to slow yourself down by putting out your arms to break. There are no scrapes or bruises. The next day( I think) I tried to get more film for my camera by taking the bike trip into town. No luck. I dont thing there is any film for my Polaroid anywhere on the island. I biked back early to get Home. Some morning, I cant unscramble it now, we went to Sandals to buy some merchandise for friends at the gift shop. I could t wait to get out of there and get back. The highlight of the piano bar was Dave finally meeting his match. Some British guy up and starting doing piece by piece. He gave Dave as good as he gives. A couple on a float gave us a show just about every day on the nude beach. The above items are in no particular order after the sand gravity kicked in. They happened sometime but I really cant remember when. Then came the DREADED DAY OF DOOM, the day of expulsion from Eden. We didnt meet anyone on this trip but we are not very outgoing. It seems just when we begin to met people we have to go home. Now I have just had to snow blow the driveway and oh well, Id better not even think about what I want. Still I wonder, why do I have to go to Jamaica to have a good time like this, if not in a public place why not in private?
