Paul & Carol - September, 2003

Dear Kids:

The Hedo counselors told your mom and me that if we did not send you a letter, there would be no more stuff to drink, Roberts Grill or tomfoolery for us. So I am dropping you a quick note from our second trip to Camp Hedo. I guess they still have not fixed the washers there. No one had clean clothes to wear. Some people just went in their birthday suits and a lot of people must have lost part of their clothes cause at night they just had underwear on.

We got to the second leg of our flight "home" and met Stinky and his wife at the airport. They were on the same flight as us to Camp Hedo. When we arrived in Jamaica, Coonie and his wife were already there waiting for the four of us. It was like we never left. As they say in Jamaica, "Irie Mon".

It was a Friday afternoon and school got out so the bus trip too longer than normal, but our driver was real nice and stopped along the way so Stinky could buy us all some stuff to drink.

We got to camp and checked in real fast. We got the same cabin as last year so Mom and I were real happy. We dumped our stuff and headed for the beach and began the camp activites. The weather has been real great. Much better than last year.

Mom and I met lots of new people and have had tons of fun with our old friends. We met a guy and his wife from Florida who were real neat....and another guy who likes to play army. He and his girlfriend were real nice too. He helped me learn to shoot waterballoons at passing boats. No, I did not put anyones eye out with the balloons. We also met a real nice couple from the Carolinas. I guess she was worried about being bored. One day she asked mom and Coonies wife if they wanted to go play with her toys she brought. Mom was gone a real long time, but I think she had lots of fun. She was real happy and wants to go buy the same toys.

Coonie played a joke on the army guy and everyone at camp thought they were "friends". But army guy got Stinky back real good. One night Coonie had too much to drink so we all got into Stinkys cabin and took pictures.

Lots of the day mom and I just floated in the water and talked to friends or make new ones. I also took my crab hat and wore it on the beach like you said. But, not a lot of people wanted to be my friend when I had the hat. They all liked your mom a real bunch. She made LOTS of new friends.

Yesterday we went on a cruise and jumped in the water. We also snorkeld a lot too. StinkCoonie was real funny. There was a pole on the boat so he started dancing like Aunt Whinny does sometimes when shes been having too much wine. Stinky said Coonie was a slut. I dont know what that means it must be some sort of name people call each other in the South.

Weve been eating real good. Everyday these guys bring lobsters to the beach and we get Robert to cook them. Sometimes Robert thinks were not eating well so he makes a lot of chicken and tells us we have to eat it. We complain to make him laugh but its real good chicken. Not as good as yours though. Ha Ha.

You were right. Its real hot here so we are drinking lots of liquids like you said. Last night I had too much of the liquids and Stinkys wife said I was real silly and she started calling me Boner. I guess it was because I was pretending I was a dog or something. Every time I ask mom why they call me boner, she rolls her eyes at me like you guys do sometimes.

Stinky just said he found a bunch of old green leaves in his room. So we are going to go make a little bonfire before the cafeteria opens.

And I am supposed to tell you I am remembering to take lots of pictures for you to see this year. I just hope my camera does not break like it did last year. I think I will have some fun pictures to show you.

Okay, theres a real nice lady here who says I need more suntan lotion on me and she wants to help me out. Sheesh now they are all chanting my name again, "Boner, Boner, boner". Those silly campers.

Dont worry about us. Mom and I are fine and having lots of fun. Thank you for letting us go to camp and maybe since I wrote you this year, we can come back next year?

Love,

Mom and Dad
