Mike & Angie - January 01/03 - H-II vs. H-III

Jan 9 - 18

After two trips to Hedo II we decided to give Hedo III a try. We have listed belows the things we liked and disliked about both.

The bus ride to 3 was 2-1/2 hours and was slow and agonizing. Average speed was about 30-40 mph and the bus was hot. We usally took Tim-Air to hedo 2 and rode the bus back to the airport. We have always had good experiences with the Hedo 2 bus.

From the moment we arrived at 3, the service was excellent. The front desk staff was always attentive and took care of everything right away. The bar staff was also excellent, we never had to wait more than a minute for a drink. You could get Martinis and champaigne at will! The dining staff was also excellent and very friendly. They always had silverware and drinks ready for you. Even the maids and security staff said hi whenever we passed them. It was a refreshing change from the sub-par staff at hedo 2.

The rooms at 3 were pretty nice. They had a large shower/whirlpool tub and an air conditioner that was pretty quite and did a good job (you could set the temp that you wanted with a digital remote). The water pressure was not very consistant and either was the water temperature (a little better than at hedo 2). They had a tv in the room with about 12 channels including playboy. The rooms were always clean (same at hedo 2) and the maid left us a nice flower everyday. The only drawback to the rooms at 3 is that you had to climb a lot of stairs if you were on the third floor.

The main dining hall at 3 was about a third of the size of 2. You were lucky to get a table at night if you didn't get there by 7:30. They really need to double the size in order to fit everyone. Pastafaris at 3 was not as elegant as 2 but the food was a little better. The Japanese restaurant was about the same, with the same menu. The piano bar at 3 was smaller than 2 and was on the second floor. You had to try and negotiate all the steps while leaving there with too much to drink. We decided the piano guy wasn't near as good as hedo 2. The disco was also on the second floor. The dance area itself was larger at 3, however, they had the bar in the main dance area, so all the vinnys crowded around it. It was difficult to get a drink sometimes. We liked the setup at 2 much better.

The nude area at 3 was almost as nice as 2. The hot tub was way too small and we felt very uncomfortable using it because everyone was so close. Whenever we got in, there would be 10 vinnys and wallys right next to us. They did have a nice pier that extended out. We went to the end of that and had some fun! The beach was small but it was clean and never crowded. Towards dark there were a lot of bugs - so you had to stay near the pool area. The nude grill was ok - nothing even close to Roberts grill at Hedo 2. I think we missed him the most! I will say that the drinks at 3 were much stronger than at 2.

The prude side - well there was a beach and a pool, that's all we know!!

Now the worse part about Hedo 3 for us. The EC's were terrible. You never saw them on the nude side unless there was some kind of contest. Then they would leave right away when it was done. They just weren't very talkative or friendly. The EC's at 2 did a much better job, they were always around, having fun and talking with people. We felt Hedo 2 had much better participation in the contests and always had something fun happening throughout the day.

The circus crew at 3 sucked! We did trapeze one day and were not comfortable enought with their skills to return. The Circus crew at 2 seemed much more knowledgable and friendly.

The average age at 3 was younger (probably 35-45) than 2 when we were there (50-55). We did find young couples at both that were nice. (we are 28 & 33 by the way) The people in general at 2 were much more outgoing and friendly. It seemed like a lot of people at 3 had an agenda (to swing) and weren't interested in talking to you unless you had the same agenda. I also think a lot of people stayed in the rooms and watched tv. You never saw very many people until about noon. At night everyone seemed to gather about 10:30. The vinnys didn't seem to care - they were everywhere all the time - and many of them were rude.

All in all we liked Hedo 2 far better mainly because of the fun atmosphere. We don't plan on returning to 3 again.
