March 23-29
Well, after seeing Dave
and Ann post theirs, I thought I better get off my ass and send mine in.
On this trip (#15) on took my friend Richie with me. It was to be his first and
definitely not his last.
Left Newark on A. J. on time. Great flight and arrived a little bit ahead
of schedule. When I went through customs, I was asked so many unusual questions.
It seemed the agent was going to let me through, until she saw how many times I
have been to Hedo. Then all the questions. I am carrying liquor, how many gifts
do I have, etc., etc. I told her nothing. Why would I bring booze? I knew she
was trying to get me to pay duty on things. So after a dirty look she let me
through. She was going to let Richie pass until she found out he was with me and
then it started again.
OK, get through that and a short wait for the bus and off we go. It was Sunday
so traffic was light and made it in about 1 hour. On the bus we met Paul and
Fran from Ottawa. This was there first trip. They asked me the usual questions
and like the camp counselor I am, advised them on there vacation experience. Most
importantly, give it time and you will find your groove.
While speaking the Hedo gospel, I noticed a couple of passengers
getting advice from what looked like a crusty couple. I hear the crusties
telling these people that the only people that go to hedonism are old, ugly
people that are nude all the time and are usually low lifes. The 2 advisees look
back at me with an embarrassing look on their faces. I am wearing a hedonism II
collared shirt,D.K. shorts and expensive sunglasses. I am 44 and in very good
shape. I didn't fit the mold. So the crusties are going on and on and telling
the other couple how they made the right choice staying at the Grand Lido. Well,
at the beer stop, the advisees come over to talk and apologize. I told them, no
need to apologize but come over to hedo and judge for yourselves.
When we got there, check in was a breeze. The girls actually
filled out my paperwork for me and upgraded me to oceanview nude without me
asking. It was great to see Tony from junta(the bus company), Mike Harvey,
Anthony
(pool service) and Bretton. Each one of these fine people gave me a big welcome
back. Richie was perplexed on how mostly everyone knew my name. All I said was
"this is Hedo," said a quick hello to Paulette and off to the room.
I haven't been there since the upgrades and I was truly impressed.
I was having the greatest time. The couple from Grand Lido came over and
I gave them a tour. THEY WOULDN'T LEAVE. They could not believe how great
everyone was and how much fun they were having. They kept coming back day after
day. Why they just didn't switch over is beyond me.
Day 2 and in comes my pal Paul (savage nation) which I met several trips ago and
have been friends ever since. He felt the same way I did about the upgrades
especially the gym. He likes to work out and I down right refuse. I am on
vacation.
I run into Paul and Fran and they still didn't find their groove. So they hang
with us. I guess I rubbed off on them. By day 3, every ting Irie. Paul and Fran
said if I asked them day 1 or 2 if it was worth the money, they would have said
no. Now if it cost $3,000.00 PP they would have paid it without blinking an eye.
My advice to everyone is, give it a chance, relax, find your groove and talk to
everyone.
We also met Marlene and Angie (Canadian nation) and Jean michelle and Benwa
(how's your balls). Had a lot of laughs with Canadian nation about Jean and
Benwa and rump rodents, but that's another story. We hung out with Seymour Butts
and his people also. The funny thing was I was supposed to meet all these people
from the hedo2in march yahoo group and met only a couple of them. I was too busy
having fun and I got yelled at by some nubie on the nude side when I didn't take
my cloths off fast enough. It pissed me off so much that this hank was yelling
and everyone was staring at me I wouldn't give me the time of day. I just said f
this and went prudie. Richie on the other hand went back and became a nudie. go
figure
All in all, it was one of the best trips I had. Service was top notch and the
food has gotten much better. Especially that lobster, shrimp stir fry. Delicious
with a capital D.
forgot to mention saw Dave and Ann the day before we were supposed to leave.
They were kind enough to let us use their room on eviction day until we had to
go. Thanks kids!
I hope to meet some of you at Sandy Hook in August or sooner and The whole gang
will be going back March 20, 2004
hedo hugs and God bless you all
