Mark & Carolyn - October, 2003

Mark and Carolyn, aka Nervous Virgin.

October 1-7, 2003

Im sure I will be very long-winded, but this was, BY FAR, the best trip we have ever taken!  We are already saving for the next trip!  If you are a newbie and reading this, please dont hesitate to email me with questions at carolyn@voicenet.com. Ill tell it like it is!

Let me say that we did a lot of research before we went, read every bit of this site, got Chris Ss book, and emailed people before we went. We also tanned for a month before, which was a very wise move because we never burned and got golden brown!!

Arrival:

The flight down from Philly was uneventful, thank God!  The ride from the airport was a disappointment. We shared the ride with another couple who were going to Grand Lido.  I was really looking forward to talking to people, but we made up for that during the week!! We stopped twice for beer and then pot.  We had to swerve to avoid a black cow and we saw a mongoose cross the road.  I ended up sitting in the front seat and talking to the driver about his beautiful country and the people.  When we pulled into the hotel, the skies promptly open up and it POURED! I shouldve known that a cloud would follow Mark!  Check-in went smoothly. Our room was ready, but it was raining so we decided to get a bite to eat for lunch.  We ended up running to the room and sleeping for a little nap. When we woke up, the sun was out and we headed for the beach.

Getting Nekkid

I will say that we were nervous, hence the name I use on the message board, Nervous Virgin.  I was worried that I was too ugly, or fat, or whatever.  We shouldnt have wasted the time and energy on it.  It just doesnt matter! We stayed on the nude side, so we did wear our suits down for the initial walk, but we quickly stripped once we found a chair, grabbed a float, and then headed for the water.  Once we were in the water, we looked all around. I turned to Mark and said, Well, we did it.  And guess what, no one screamed or ran away! We never wore our suits again except down to breakfast. Newbies, put your fears aside! There are all shapes and sizes of everything and no one gives a damn!! After the first day, we ended up falling into a wonderful routine and we actually lost track of what day it was several times.  I swear, the place puts a spell on you!

Food:

Pastafaris was fabulous!! Loved the veal in brandy cream sauce and the red roasted peppers on the antipasta bar! Ate there the first night with BostonMike for Pattys birthday! (It was an honor to be invited. Thanks, Mike.) Munahanas was also great food and GREAT company, but it was really hot!  I hate sweating in my food!  If I could make one suggestion to the management, it would be to enclose the dining area somehow and air condition it.  I know that would be expensive, but it would make meals and watching the evening entertainment more enjoyable.  Breakfasts were awesome with Charlies omelets.  We didnt drink enough water during the first couple of days.  We drank a lot, but not water!

Entertainment:

Toga Night was so-so. Loved the music theme nights. The band and the singers were very talented! Rose was our favorite. Ashley was fun too and Shashika.  I swear those girls are missing vertebrae with the way they can move their butts!  Mark and I did win two bottles of rum for our versions of the one cent, five cent, ten cent, a dollar song.  Also loved the Piano Bar with Dave. Great singing from Chuck, the pilot, Darryl, Roxy and Robbi, and Rick and Tim.  I even sang a couple of times. Dave is so talented.  Karaoke was hysterical with Mike and Debbie and Ziggy. Julie sang the hell out of Bobby Maggie.  It was a great way to end the trip!!

PDAs

The week we were there, occupancy was very low.  As the week progressed, more life-stylers came in and more things were happening at the hottub at night. I only saw one incident during the day at the small cold bubble tub where three guys were getting happy as they sat on the side with their wives heads in their laps.  It was hard to see since I was one of the participants. <grin> I didnt like the Jamaican guys that were there on night passes. They creeped me out a little bit when they would just sit and watch the goings on in the hottub at night, but we were only approached once by one of them and a no-thank-you was enough to turn him away. We are not swingers but we were never made to feel uncomfortable at anytime.

My favorite things

Being naked, jerk chicken at 5:00, Delroy and Scumbas drinks (purple rains, hummingbirds, dirty bananas, landsharks, and our new favorite drink which we lovingly named the Renee after its creator, rum cream and Berryhill), chocolate liquor poured on my husbands <***>, tree frogs at night, the little crabs that are on the rocks out in the lagoon, the lizards/geckos that are all over the place, going down the waterslide nude at midnight, painting our rock, the cold bubble tub, talking all day with Julie and everyone else we met, listening to our new friends from Grimsby, England (we loved the way they talkedF**k off, you little s**t, Youre doin my head in, top totty), watching the guys/girls play volleyball and cheering when someone had to get out to retrieve the ball (nice views from some of you), snorkeling, beach games, the fashion show (loved the leaf, Chuck; and Mikes napkin!), but most of all, being with my sweetheart of 16 years. We really needed a vacation like this, and Hedo makes you feel so free and uninhibited.

There were a few disappointments, but not many.  The water pressure was terrible in our room #2272, the water would be scalding one minute, and freezing the next. The air conditioning in our room was terrible. It was hotter in the room than outside sometimes.  The hot tub was set too high in temperature that you couldnt stay in it for too long.

Lastly, a HUGE THANK YOU

To all of our new friends,  Renee and Mike (thanks for the new drink idea!) Bruce and Michelle (thanks for the gift), Debbie and Mike, BostonMikeandPatty, Mike and Kristi, Matt and Vicki, Jonathon, Andrew, Chuck the Pilot, Darryl, Judy, Chuck and Wanda (my Amish sister), Tim and Roxy, Rick and Robbi, and most of all, Chris and Julie (Thanks for the great talks, Julie). Thanks to all of you for making our first trip so great.  Hedo is all about the people.  Where else can you go and sit face to face with someone with no clothes on, no pretenses and laugh your ass off until your stomach hurts!

This trip report does come with a WARNING

When you come home, you will keep dreaming about Hedo.  I keep thinking about what I was doing this time yesterday, last week, etcYou keep hearing people say things that you know they didnt say, like when we out to dinner and the waiter offered us nude potatoes instead of new potatoes.  Lyrics in songs stand out like, wearing next to nothing in B52s Love Shack.  I even heard our pastor read from Hedo instead of Hebrews in the bible.  HELP ME!!!!!

When are we going back????
