Hedo II Report (May 2003)

This was our second trip to Jamaica, but our first to Hedo II in Negril. Last year we went to Hedo III, in Runaway Bay, and had a great time: met some friendly people, relaxed and had some fun. We enjoyed it so much we thought it was worth coming back to check out the original Hedo and we werent disappointed!

That said, the accommodation at II is really showing its age. We had loved the huge bathrooms with Roman tubs at III, but II has the smallest possible bathrooms and the rooms are very basic and no 24hr porn! The restaurant area was also not so good: Munahanas and Scotch Bonnet are just part of the main dining area, rather than separate venues. The food was okay, but nothing special.

But you dont go to Hedo for the food or the bathrooms! You go there for the people, the atmosphere and the fun! And Hedo II has all that... with chocolate icing on top!

The first thing we want to point out is that we are not naturists... this was only our second nude holiday. But if you want to have fun at Hedo, you really do need to be on the nude side so, off came the clothes and on went the factor 60 sun-block!

At Hedo III we had been disappointed to find that the security guards had been very obvious, and usually stepped in to prevent anyone having too much fun, especially during the day. At Hedo II they let you get on with it... and people sure did! It was a voyeurs dream.

The hot-tub tends to be centre of attention, especially late afternoon when people relax and start to play before dinner. It then heats up again from midnight onwards. If you like to watch theres always plenty to see - but please be discreet! If you like to play, theres always an appreciative crowd. Or the cave offers some privacy for the less-exhibitionist.

We took a while to get into the swing of Hedo II, but by the end of the week we had had sex in the cave, the hot-tub and one of the spa baths oh, and on an inflatable in the bay too!

The nude side certainly seemed much better than at III (although Joy preferred the layout at Hedo III), and the facilities are very clean and pleasant. The main problem is the lack of shade by the pool, so we tended to stay under the trees along the nude beach. We also stayed out of the hottest sun by playing indoor games... like squash, backgammon, table tennis and pool!

Our top tips for hedonists are:

1. Before travelling, try to make friends with other hedonists who will be there at the same time, e.g. using Denny Ps website. That way, youll know people as soon as you arrive and wont be left on the outside looking in.

2. Try to eat in Munahanas as soon as possible. We found it was the best way to meet people and make new friends. Unlike the other restaurants, where you tend to sit on your own, at Munahanas you sit with three other couples and can really get to know them over dinner.

3. The Piano Bar is a great after-dinner venue. Use it to fill the gap between dinner and the nightclub. Nice place to take your new-found friends from Munahanas!

4. Make some effort to look at the Hedo site first to check what theme nights are on when you are there. A bit of planning and packing things such as your naughty nightwear will put you in the mood and enable you to travel light.

5. If you do the waterslide (and you should), remember to hold your nose and close your mouth just before you hit the water! Oh, and watch out for times when you can slip down naked its great fun!

All the best. Lee & Joy xxxx
