Trip report
2/15/2-22
We flew out of Atlanta and the flight to Mo' bay was most pleasant. The
plane was full but service was excellent. We arrived in Mo' bay to
sunshine and had remembered in advance to pack shorts to change at the
airport.
We had a short wait at Sangster and then rode the bus to Hedo.
The bus ride was great with a short stop for a Red Stripe. We met some
Jbirds on the bus who were very freindly and we kept in contact with
them the whole week.
The check in took a little longer
than it should, but there was champagne to drink while we waited.
Room: The room was fine we had
a beachfront upgrade. Service from the staff was excellent.
Drinks: Great what else can you say
about Delroy's?
Food: The beachfront grill was up to
its usual standard. There is nothing better then Roberts hamburgers,
fries and jerk chicken at happy hour, the buffett was fair the restaurants were
good the Japanese was ok, but the service at Pastafari was excellent
Weather: the weather was spotty, a
lot of overcast days, a fair amount of rain the last day was quite windy.
Our trip to Ricks was disappointing because the sea was too rough to land at
Ricks.
General comment: Staff very friendly
and attentive
we went during the Bubbly Bares and J-Birds weeks and felt very welcome- a great
bunch of people- Dr. Spank ( Howard) was a hoot. The Jamaican people are
among the friendliest people in the world only surpassed by the Irish.
We did a side trip to local
restaurant (Sweet and Spice), and then went to a reggae bar on the beach.
The cabbie from Hedo took us to the restaurant, picked us up and then took us to
the bar, got us seated and then picked us up again
all for only $30. The reggae bar was on the beach, tables on the sand and
was wonderful -reggae music on the sand under the moonlight
It dont get much better than that
looking forward to going back next year
