Chuck - November, 2003

Friday Nov. 14.
3:00 A.M. get up for 6:00 A.M. flight. No problems on the way out ( even though we're flying AAL), except 4 hour layover @ DFW.

Arrive in Mobay @ 6:30 P.M. 12 1/2 hours travel time, but "we are finally here!!!"
Short notice trip, so no passports. DL-BS, no problem @ customs/ immagration. Getting into Jamaica was the easy part. We ordered a copy of marriage certificate (got married in 'Vegas), never needed it.

The trip to Negril from Mobay was an "E" ticket ride that would make Walt Disney proud. Our thought was "we spent over 3 thousand bucks on this trip and we'll never get to the beach alive". Evidently, if you honk your horn enough, you can do anything you want.
Anyway, everyone survived, and we made it there alive.

Check in was easy. The room was what we booked, Nude, ocean view. No problem mon. By 8:30 we were walking down the beach half naked. However, in the process of getting naked my baby lost a $400 earring by the prude grill which we never found.

I had requested a wake up call @ 5:30 on Saturday morning to search for the earring at first light. We had read several posts about problems getting wakeups. We requested 2 during our trip, and got them both. No problem mon. The security personnel helped us look for the earring Friday night & saturday morning. They were great!

We have read so many reports about PDP. Well, the're all true. We saw many interesting displays, and even put on some. No one got hurt and those that didn't want to see them, didn't have to watch. The sex police are active during the daytime, but at night, they seem to leave everyone to their own "devices". No problem mon.

The nude beach was great. Yes it's kinda small, but Augustus keeps it clean, and keeps the atomosphere light. You have to watch him, and do exactly what he says.
We saw Manta rays and one Puffer fish, but never had a close encounter with anything dangerous. We didn't have water socks, so we had to be careful where we walked in the water.

We read many bad reports about the food. We found Roberts Grill to be excellent. The Bacon Cheese Burgers and fries can't be beat. Munahana was very good as well. Wednsday night we did Pastifari. No doubt the best restaurant at the resort. However, we ate most meals at Roberts. On a side note, for those of us doing Atkins, use "Carb Cutters" pills. We ate the fries at Roberts, the buns on the burgers, and everything at the main dining room and pastafari for a week, and gained only 3 pounds.

The nude bar could definetly use more help .  Delroy was a complete prick!!!  Apparently, if you tip him the first day, or you are a "repeater", you get "preferential" treatment.  Other than that you pretty much get ignored.  I thought it was only me (the wife with a trim body (125 lbs) and double DD's, how could you ignore me?) but then the next round and several after took forever, as I was offended at being ignored, I sent sent my somewhat more outspoken husband (more than 15 to 25 minutes). (This happened all week. I understand it was busy at times, but bartenders & all service personnel should be expected to pay attention to the order of customer arrival. Picking nits? I don't think so. I paid 3 grand for this week and it shouldn't take 20 minutes to get a frigging drink. I mean we're not splitting atoms here. Husband's thoughts).

The nude beach & nude pool/hot tub area were outstanding. We met so many nice people there. Thanks to Brian & Kathy, Ray & Cindarella, Gunther & Trish , Jim & Charleen & Bob & Ann of the C.H.C. Everyone we met was helpful, as it was our first time.

Less than 18 hours after we arrived, we began planning our next trip, in Nov. 2004, bringing friends from home. Even with poor nude bar service, we will come back. (We'll  go to  the Prude bar if necessary). Late night the nude bar service was outstanding.

As far as the rooms, the AC worked perfectley, the housekeeping was great, we always had towels, (bath & beach). One day, after they made up the room, there were not enough wash cloths, we found them in a bag, hanging on the door knob later in the afternoon.

The trip home: AAL (American Airlines) SUCKS!!!. In a professonal capacity, I have to deal with AAL every day, and I can say if Southwest Airlines went to Mobay, our flight would have been much more enjoyable, and on time (we had to spend an extra night in Dallas on the way back). Next year we will fly Air  Jamaica, Delta or any other airline that goes there.
