Trip Report for Hedonism II

This being our fourth trip to Hedo goes to show that every trip is different! We decided to try the bus ride this year and save the Tim Air cash to have an extra day. The free bus for Superclubs was quite packed and not ready to leave when we were, so we elected to go in with another couple and rent a taxi that was ready to go now (plus would allow us to smoke and avoid the Red Stripe stop). For $30.00 a couple we hired Byron to take us to Negril. The new highway really cut down the trip to around an hour, but was still crowded and slow going through the towns. While the road was better, Jamaican bus drivers are not! There is just something about clicking along at 75 MPH (not KPH) and passing on blind curves! I really understand why Ganga is so prevalent there after the ride. It was nice to see the real Jamaica however. It will certainly make you appreciate the comforts of home. For the return to the airport we chose the Superclubs bus, which did not make as many wild moves but did, when encountered with traffic, manage quite well to keep from scaring the shit out of me.
Arriving at Hedo was its normal welcome experience. The ECs are there waving, smiling and shouting Welcome Back. Even though the resort was near 100% occupancy our request for a second floor H Block room was ready as soon as we pulled up. Our friends were not so lucky with room selection, but decided to keep it due to its location. The rooms pretty much looked the same and you will still need to spray the filters with Lysol (as my sore throat can attest) We left a small gift for the maid and found our room clean with extra towels and fresh flowers on the bed every day! The air conditioner was not as cold as others, but we found by closing the bathroom door we could keep the temperature comfortable.
Augustus was his normal chipper and fun loving self. I really wish I had known a few days earlier about his need for DVDs, but found out too late to get his any. Will start shopping for him now for the next trip. I was able to hook him up with some things though and his genuine smile lets you know its appreciated. The guy was great and is (IMHO) just as important to being there as any of the other long time well know names.
Rae-Rae (SP), is a new entertainment coordinator and really rocks! While he doesnt have the same personality as Mark did, he is definitely up there in the top ten. Simone was the mother of the group and really kept them together. Buffy & Roxie were as fun as ever, and Chubby was still there with his fun-loving attitude. A couple of years ago we had breakfast with Mark (The Sizzler) and found out what the day is like for the ECs. It is very surprising how little down-time they get before having to come out and play with us everyday. They really do kick butt to keep up with a bunch of kids-for-a-week.
Dave made appearances at the Piano Bar but seemed to be an hour late every night. One night he had locked his keys in his car so thats understandable. The bar felt kind of different without Veronica though. It remained however a nice place to hang out in the AC for a pre and post dinner drink. The saltwater aquarium is up and running, well stocked, and quite relaxing to look at. The dining room was its normal self with good food, but could do with more fans to help move the humidity around. No leaks noted this year, but we were never there during the daily rain shower. Pastafaris and the Japanese restaurant rocked! Great food, great service, and wonderful people who were willing to work with you to get that extra person seated! Big thumbs up to them. Cant say too much about the food at the prude bar since we didnt eat there except for a midnight snack. Roberts however was its usual awesome lunch. For those who were wondering, the beef patties were there! The jerked chicken line was in place at 5:30 with plenty for everyone!
The spa is well worth visiting. We had a couples massage that left me feeling like Jell-O for the remainder of the day. A couple of friends visited the manicure set-up there and were happy with the price and results. The gym is still in acceptable condition, however sand gravity and flaming Bob Marleys kept me from enjoying it past the first day. On the nude side it seems like a light salesman made a killing there! On the bench behind the hot tub there was a rather bright light at deck level, which would blind someone in the tub looking that way. One of the chair mats laid against it seemed to dim it down without starting a fire. However the new lights in the Grotto are bright enough to allow a 747 to land. There was one night it wasnt on, so a switch must be located someplace. SOMEONE FIND IT!! The lights on the nude beach do ruin the ambiance of its nighttime manifestation, however darker areas were to be found.
Now on to the people! A few old and a bunch of new faces were found. Some of the April regulars went to Hedo III for the week. Looking forward to their report of it. In addition to our group Drunk Phuckers, Da Zoo Bares, and Butt Crack Tours were there. There were plenty of blow up toys in the pool as well as an 8 penis that one of the ECs fell in love with! Our side trip to Margaritaville added a blow up parrot named Pecker Head to the mix. For those wondering Pecker Head will be inflated and grace my home office till next trip. A few singles (male and female) were there, and for the most part very well accepted by all. The only exception is the trio of Vinnies who swore they were there with their wives, although they were never seen with them. They would have been OK had it not been for the one proclaiming to be a FDNY Firefighter. His BS was sniffed out with only a few questions from a couple of us who are real Firefighters. The guy was really trying to hit on a single female who had joined our group until I told him she was my sister! One night in the hot tub he was watching our antics and kept repeating I could never do THAT with my sister. Hehehe sorry dude, but I had to protect her somehow!
Overall it was a real blast this year. We are looking forward to the changes the new GM will/might/could make to enhance the nude side. It would really be great to see the nude side improved as the prude side was. (We can however do without the skating rink!)
