Jim & Janie - 12/99: Wet, Wild, and Wicked

December 9-15, 1999

A trip to Hedo was always a fantasy, but it seemed that it was destined to stay that way.  There was no way we would ever actually go to a “swingers’ place” like that.  Then Jim stumbled on The Website and discovered that there is much more to Hedo than wild sex.  There are other kinds of sex too.  Actually, it taught us that Hedo is really about meeting people and having fun in a very open respectful atmosphere.  And the idea of going with a semi-official group like WWW was perfect for us.  It provided a way to more easily meet a lot of people, all interested in having fun.  It didn’t take a lot of convincing after that for us to decide we wanted to make this trip and there is no time like the present.  We did “meet” a few Hedo vets by email before the trip.  Thanks to Ron & Sharon, Mike & Sandy, Brian & Kelly, Jim & Jeanie and JJ and Debra for many good ideas, and especially for fostering the attitude of respect.  That was the key to this being such a great time.  It was really good to meet them in person.

Thursday  Air Jamaica worked very well.  We had a direct flight from Baltimore to MoBay, so little could go wrong.  It was a great to start to meet Ron, Sharon and Debra on the flight and the Red Stripe was a nice way to start the trip.  We planned on taking the Bus, but when we got there, we were quickly paired with others taking Jamaica Air Link, so it made the price more reasonable.  The plane was ready to go, so we decided to take it.  The plane ride itself was worth the price of admission.  There were nine of us squeezed in, including Debra in the copilot seat.  The pilot was great and even buzzed the Hedo beach at Ron’s suggestion before turning to land.  Before we knew it we were in the free Hedo cab and deposited at the front steps.  It seemed that at every turn, someone was there with a smile to take care of us and our luggage.

Fortunately, we were well versed in the poor performance at the Hedo front desk and we fully expected a delay if not a bump to another type of room or even off of the resort.  This was even compounded when we met Joe and MayBeth while waiting in the lobby.  There were on their third or fourth day of trying to get into the Nude Ocean View room they paid for.  Their good news was they were amassing quite the collection of free nights to use on their next stay.  We were almost hoping to get bumped so we could cash in on those freebies.

Of course we were told to go have lunch and come back in an hour.  We knew we were at Hedo when we went into the dining area just as the Bodies in Motion contest started.  Nothing like those cute sweaty guys with their rippling muscles dancing in their cute little thongs to create the right atmosphere.  Janie thought they were cute too.

Much to our surprise, soon after lunch, we were given a perfect second floor nude side, ocean view room near the volleyball court.  Just the right distance away from the noise of the disco and the hot tub to suit us.

We headed for the pool, got naked, got a drink and within an hour met at least ten other WWW couples we recognized from the website, and a host of others.  We are usually the shy ones at the party, but this was great.  It was also a treat to meet Delroy after reading about him for so long.  We had been to nude beaches, but never to a place where you both got naked and talked to other people.  This was a new experience and took all of ten seconds to get comfortable with it.

Thursday night was Toga Night.  We made our togas in advance with gold lam.  It made for a great evening making them and it was good to have them ready, especially since Toga Night was first night there.  We thought they looked pretty good and were anxious to show them off.  Dinner was good with new friends Doug & Jackie, Jim & Jeanie and Brian & Amy.  (Has any newbie ever been so excited to go and into the message board and chat room like Magumbo.)  It was an honor to meet him in person.  It was fun to watch everyone in their toga designs and funny how already it barely raised an eyebrow to see guys and gals doing their best to expose themselves in inventive ways.

However, the entertainment was so boring that we headed for the hot tub before any toga activities started.  We were disappointed to miss the congo line and the toga judging.  But we did enjoy our first hot tub experience.  Already we were seeing people there we felt like we knew.

Friday  We were up early to take the resort course to qualify to SCUBA dive.  We were excited about this because we have always wanted to dive, but never committed the time or money for something we weren’t really sure about.  This was a perfect way to try it and it didn’t cost a thing.  The hardest part was passing the swimming test in the pool at 8:00 AM after the late night of partying.  The training was good and easy and once we got to swim in the deep part of the pool we felt comfortable and ready for tomorrow’s inaugural dive.

It was a quiet afternoon on the beach, ending at the pool late in the afternoon.  We joined a group led by Brian, Kelly and Patty to join the nude volleyball game.  It turned out to be a fairly serious game, complete with couples arguing, sore knees and players scrambling to get their braces and bandages.  After a couple of days, some of the more serious players left and it became a lot more fun and safe.  Volleyball became standard fare for us and a great source of Hedo bucks.  It was great earning Hedo bucks just for playing.

We had an interesting evening Friday.  After the usual early evening in the hot tub and entertaining ourselves in our ceiling mirrors, we discovered we had a phone message.  They said our son had called.  Naturally we expected the worst and we tried and tried to call, but couldn’t get through.  We ran to grab dinner before they stopped serving and returned to call again.  We missed the circus show of fire eaters and contortionists, which we heard was one of the better nights of entertainment.  Finally, we got through near 11:00.  He just wanted to tell us he got his PSAT scores and they were good.  What a relief.  After that, we were definitely ready to party.

We of course ended up in the hot tub for what turned out to be the most eventful evening of public display of affection.  Based on the trip reports, we expected an ongoing display of sexual escapades.  It turned out to be much less rampant than expected, but this evening did not disappoint.  There was the foursome in one corner and an interesting oral display in the grotto by a couple that must have wandered in from the neighboring resort and were overcome by the Hedo spirit.

Saturday  We postponed our SCUBA dive so we could go on the clothing optional catamaran cruise to the Pickled Parrot.  It included time for snorkeling before we got to the cliffs, which provided a Hedo moment.  Janie wasn’t sure she wanted to snorkel, so Jim went in to scout and report back.  After checking it out, he swam to the boat to tell her to come in.  She was on her back with one foot in the air, having it massaged by one of the crew.  She was in heaven and clearly was not to be disturbed.  The Pickled Parrot was a fun diversion with cliffs to jump from, a rope swing and a slide.  Jim and Sean proved their manhood by making the cliff jump, even though Tina swore she wouldn’t talk to Sean if he went.  That didn’t last long.  It looks a lot higher from the top than it does from the bottom and the key trick seems to be to cup your hands over your jewels for protection when you hit the water.  Hedo is no place to have them injured.  The trip was fun and well worth doing.

The rest of the day fell into the usual pattern of beach, volleyball, pool, hot tub, dinner, hot tub.

Sunday  Our first SCUBA dive.  We were a bit nervous and Janie was concerned about her ears, but it was great.  We were thoroughly comfortable in the water and the dive guides did a great job of making it fun and being sure we were safe.  We went with Brian, Sean and Tina – an excellent group for our initiation.

After the mandatory game of volleyball, we headed to the hot tub and stumbled onto a rollicking dice game.  It was great fun to watch and exciting to be on the fringe with the possibility that someone could drag us into the fray at any time.  Fortunately (or unfortunately) that didn’t happen.  Notice a slow infusion of Hedo spirit here.  Before this trip, we would have run from this game like it was the plague.  We decided that if we had the opportunity again, we would go for it.  It never happened.  I guess we have to save something for the next Hedo trip.  On another day we did join in a game of couples only dice (all contact is with your spouse).  This still made for an interesting game.  One more thing you would only find yourself doing at Hedo.

We had reservations at Pastafari’s that night, with Tina, Sean, Amy and Brian.  And what a night it was!  The food was excellent and the company was better.  We haven’t laughed that hard for that long in a long time.  We knew we were having a great time when the group at another table suggested (in good fun) that we keep it down and the rest of the restaurant applauded.

We left Pastafari’s just in time to dance in the dining area before heading to the hot tub for the last chance of the day to talk with new friends.  It seems that was the night that we joined four other couples and the giant inflatable dick in the grotto to do our best, loudest impressions of orgasmic screams.  It sure attracted a crowd of onlookers before they realized we were just clowning around.  It was a great sight to see Patty, Amy, Lisa, Tina and Janie splashing out through the waterfall, riding the inflatable dick.  Where else but Hedo.

After leaving the hot tub we headed out to the Point to “check out the view”.  We stumbled onto a very inviting hammock.  It was a great place for some serious cuddling, but you have to be more of an acrobat than we are to accomplish a real connection.  We woke up in each other’s arms under the moon and stars, caressed by the tropical breeze sometime closer to dawn than midnight.  Life could definitely be a lot worse.

Funny thing.  Talking to Jim and Lisa the next day we discovered they had been in the same hammock not much earlier than we were.  Two thoughts:  Great minds think alike and I sure hope they were neat.

Monday  It was a slow start after the late night.  Jim managed to get to breakfast just in time to grab some food to take back to the room.  See, you can get room service at Hedo.  We spent the day on the beach, floating on rafts, playing volleyball, pool, hot tub, dinner, hot tub.  This may be a night we stopped in Veronica’s for sing along.  It was a nice diversion and the piano player did a great job, but it wasn’t where we wanted to spent a lot of our time.

Tuesday  We went on our second SCUBA dive, with Jim and Lisa.  It was even better than the first.  The colors were great and there were lots of fish.  We could get hooked on this.  We plan to get certified before the next Hedo trip so we can go on the deeper dives.

Tuesday night was the PJ party.  Unfortunately, it was also our last, so we had to spend time packing so we could have our bags out on the time specified in the eviction notice.  We missed pictures in Denny and Diane’s room, but we did catch up with them on the pool deck before venturing to the disco.  There were many great outfits with prizes to Denny and Diane for their Christmas garb (Denny, yours didn’t seem to provide full frontal coverage), to Lisa for her Victoria’s Secret bodice and to Tina looking surprisingly virginal in her white bridal peignoir.  It was interesting to see her constantly adjusting her top to be sure nothing was exposed.  This after seeing her naked all day, every day.  We may have been naked much of the time, but there was a lot more sexual energy in the disco with everyone in their naughty little outfits than at any other time.

Marc had promised us a nude volleyball game in the main pool and he announced it at the PJ party.  We ended up with not only the players, but the gallery being naked.

Naturally the night finished in the hot tub.

Wednesday  Sad to say, we’re on our way.  We won’t return for many a day.  We spent all morning checking out and signing in with Air Jamaica.  It is actually a good system and if you know how it works and pack properly, you could do this very simply.  We didn’t.

We did have enough time for another great sandwich from Robert and a sail on a catamaran before heading out.  We had to leave just as the WWW catamaran cruise was setting sail.  Sorry we missed it and the Jello shots, but it was a nice place to say goodbye to our new friends.  We took the bus to the airport.  It wasn’t a bad trip, except that it was going in the wrong direction.

Some closing thoughts  This was great!  We had so much fun and met so many fun people.  It would have never happened for us, much less have been as good, without dennyp.com.  So many thanks to Denny for the hours spent maintaining it.  And thanks to our many new Hedo friends.  We only hope we get to see you again in Hedo soon.

The entertainment staff was great, tireless, always up and committed to ensuring that we have a good time.  Delroy and Scumba were always there with a smile mixing the best drinks on Earth (at least they seemed that way).  Be warned, they do not understand “fill it half way” or “make this one not quite as strong”.  And Robert and Indiana definitely made the best food there.  There is something special about sitting naked on the beach watching the sun sink into the Caribbean, feeding jerk chicken and fish to each other with our fingers while sipping on a planter’s punch.

Pastafari’s was excellent.  You have to go at least once.

It has been said many times, but the best part of Hedo is the friends you meet there.  Go with the idea of meeting new people.  Don’t plan on hanging out in your quiet spot on the beach.  There is too much to do and too many great people to spend your time with.  The special thing about the Jamaican people is their respect for everyone.  That spirit makes Hedo the special place it is.  You can do whatever you want (well almost), or as little as you want and it is okay.  Be careful, the Hedo atmosphere may affect you and you may find yourself doing things you’ve only dreamed of.

Irie and much respect to all
