Don & Vicki, 12/99: Wet, Wild, and Wicked

Wet, Wild and Wicked - Winter 1999

December 11th to 18th By Don & Vicki

Our Intro

In February 1998 we visited Hedo for the first time; this December was our fourth trip home, and yes we are addicted. We have now visited during each season, February, July, September, and December. For those of you who are interested in the weather, this was the best trip weather wise, no rain and only a few days of clouds. February 98 was very similar, July 98 was cloudy with morning and afternoon showers, September 99 included three days on the outskirts of hurricane Floyd, capsized boats, etc.

Having had a great time with Denny and several others during our July 98 trip we booked a return with WWW for July 99. Unfortunately we had to cancel two days prior to departure due to a family illness. Lance at Go Classy was able to reschedule our July trip to Nude Week in September and we enjoyed that visit immensely. I mention all of this to make the point that, as hard as we tried, we just could not get excited about this trip; it seemed like we were just there; we still had a suitcase with all the September Hedo toys and supplies in the corner of our bedroom, Christmas was "soon come", gifts needed to be purchased and shipped, and a tree needed to be purchased and decorated. Most distracting and most important was that Vicki's favorite cat, Jasmine, was suffering from the effects of several breast surgeries and the rapid spread of cancer. We were just not in the Hedo spirit.

Getting there

We boarded a 5 am flight from Memphis to Atlanta still grumbling "why are we doing this" and trying to decide what to do with the winter clothes we were wearing, 34 degrees in Memphis. As we rounded the corner entering the international terminal we saw a hand waving in the air and a smile that said, "hello friends, welcome home". WE WERE NOW IN THE HEDO SPIRIT. The hand and smile were those of Denny. We met Diane, in person, for the first time and headed to the gate where we met Gary and Debbie and changed into something more Hedo appropriate. The flight to MoBay was uneventful; (airlines need bigger blankets according to Diane).

Gary, Debbie, Vicki and I waited at the TimAir counter for what seemed like hours for Denny and Diane to retrieve their luggage. Denny finally appeared in the doorway pushing a luggage cart with a stack of bags the size of a side-by-side refrigerator. Diane's trip report said there were 52, we didn't count them. (We didn't know why Diane needed the back up generator until later in the week).

After a short ride to TimAir and a long delay while Denny obtained the correct permits to transport the generator we were on our way home.

We arrived at the front desk around 1 p.m., rooms are not ready, check back in an hour or so, no problem. I requested a room close to Delroy''s. Beverly, my favorite front desk clerk chuckled, Denny chuckled, I think everybody in the lobby chuckled, I didn't chuckle. Hey, there's no harm in asking.

Mark and Jason, two of the best entertainment coordinators and Vicki's favorites recognized her in the Lobby, she has a few attributes that are hard to forget, and they exchanged hugs and kisses. Jason suggested that we go back in the office and say hello to Tavis. He greeted us with a smile, although I think he was disappointed to see that I didn't send Vicki alone.

We changed clothes, grabbed a few drinks and headed down the beach to see Delroy. I think that the first WWW'ers we met were Doug (MaGumbo) and Jackie but I'm not sure. We said hello to Delroy and Augustus had a few more drinks and headed back to the lobby. Vicki and I were assigned room 2172; hey as I said there's no harm in asking. This was the best room that we have had in four trips. We decorated our window with red Christmas lights and Santa hats.

We're Home

I realize that I have spent a great deal of time getting to this point. If you are a Hedo vet you remember the events of getting to Hedo and leaving Hedo clearly, everything else is a blur of one long day. If you are a Hedo virgin, you'll find out soon enough.

The highlights of our trip consist primarily of the people we meet. I'll try to be somewhat discreet in my comments. If you were there you'll know what I'm referring to. If you weren't there, I hope that you can read between the lines and get a sense and feeling of the friendship and camaraderie that exists amongst people whom, in most cases, have met for the first time.

Denny and Diane - you are great friends and we enjoyed our time with you. Frosty the snowman will never be the same. As we sat on the jetty one day and heard the generator and it's attachments start, rattling the windows of room 2278, I told Boomer, Steph and others on the beach not to worry - it's only Diane and good things will soon come. Denny, I'm sorry buddy but I have never seen anyone screw up the application of duck tape before.

Boomer and Steph - Boom Daddy you lived up to our expectations, sorry we missed the Magical Mystery Tour, thanks for bringing a "to go box" back to the beach. Steph, when I unpacked at home I realized that several things were missing, maybe Boomer will let me look for them the next time I see you. You guys were great and we hope to see you in July.

MaGumbo and Jackie - I apologize for the Texas A&M comment, it was in bad taste. Jackie - we hope that the "backdoor" is still KY2 ready.

T.Wayne and Julie - What can we say, Tex__ass hospitality at its finest. Some folks pack sunscreen, you guys pack Jell-O mix and shooter cups. For anyone who hasn't tried it, those little shooter cups fit perfectly between the cheeks of your wife's, girlfriends, or neighbor's wife's butt. A shot of rum will never taste the same. Where's the painted rock, a true labor of love.

Terry and Karen - Thanks for looking for us. We enjoyed the birthday party. Maybe next trip we can spend more time together. We heard the hot tub was "buzzing" late one night. Sorry we missed it.

Dave and Denise - I'm happy that we met and even happier that we were not what you expected. Your diligence on the rope swing at the cliff backs up the saying, "if you don't first succeed, try, try again". Sorry about your foot. (Hint to Hedo, remove those damn foot washing pits on the steps at the nude pool. In four trips we have seen four people seriously hurt. Most people try to step over them anyway).

Brian and Kellie, Jeff and Loretta, Rupe and Patty, Gary and Debbie - I hope that we meet again. Kellie, nice leather; Loretta, nice paint; Rupe, thanks for the "how to get everyone naked in your hot tub" tips. Gary, how in the hell did you get on the first TimAir flight.

Don and Donna - The next time you're headed to Beale Street give us a call. If anyone wants to know where "the jet" in the hot tub is located, email Donna. (Or me)

Bob and Woody - Two great non-Vinnie single guys. Thanks for the WWW sign and the six-foot blow up penis. Vicki will send you our address so you can ship the promised penis(s). She may even send a few pictures of her riding the sample in the nude pool as payment.

Hey Dude - Thanks for the entertainment. On Christmas Eve I opened a bottle of champagne to toast my family and burst into tears. They thought I was being sentimental, I was just remembering the morning of December 18th. I didn't even try to explain.

Tits On A Stick - Although we never really met, for some reason I feel like I'm your gynecologist. The next time I'm in New Jersey I'll find the club. I'm sure there are billboards along the interstate with your picture on them. As someone said in the hot tub one night, "snack bars open".

Tavis, Mark, Jason, Marie, Beverly, Janet, Robert, Indiana, Delroy, Scumba, Augustus, and many, many more - you are the reason that we return so often. We will see you soon.

We're Outta Here -

It's time to go. A late afternoon TimAir flight in a pending rainstorm. Although I still don't understand why the seatback on the plane had a ruler in it, it was put to good use. Jason, our pilot, if we see you again we may give you the pictures, I know you enjoyed the show.

All of our flights back to Memphis were delayed but I won't dwell on that. We had a Merry Christmas and plan to have a Happy Nude Year. We sincerely hope to see everyone again.
