Laird & Andra - December, 2010 Wet, Wild, and Wicked ®

It was soooooo good to be back (we missed 2009)!!!  It was really great to meet with old friends and make new ones!!  Denny was missed!

Observations:

ECs,   Other than being late most of the time, they did a pretty good job.  All seemed approachable.  Not a fan of the portable mic/speaker set up.

FOOD,  The salad bar seemed kinda lacking and the Friday night dinner feast seemed to be toned down.  The burgers in the main dinning hall tasted more like burgers.  Otherwise, seemed on par with years past.

PEOPLE,  99% awesome!!  Where else can so many people from so many walks life get together and it not matter what you do, how much you make or where you live!

ATMOSPHERE,  Great!  I didn't see a lot of "in your face" stuff (cept for the hot tub, mostly after dark).  See below for further.

ENTERTAINMENT,  On the last 2 nights, The Roots Explosion Band played a few too many slow moving songs, though they their playing seemed a little better.  The Circus show was pretty good.  Dion in the Piano Bar seems to be finding how to get the Hedo crowd going, but still has a ways to go (see the below).

WEATHER,  Chilly and mostly cloudy.  I had to put on pants for the beach dinner!  The humidity also seemed low most of the week.  The last night there, provided the best sunset of the week with the sun melting right into the Ocean.  NO rain to speak of.  Saw it posted there was an earthquake on Dec 5 in Kingston, but I never felt anything.

MINOR ANONYANCES;

Wife was sick for most of the trip.  Hot water for the shower was not consistent. Slightly chilly weather.  PJ night at the disco means no PJs, no entry.  The guy who wore the light blue Columbia type shirt everynight did not understand and even wanted to argue with the EC at the front door.  He then found the side door and sat in the corner.  Later, he changed his shirt trying to stay in.  There was another guy who took off his pants to get in the door, then put them back on once inside.  He would then eagle eye for ECs removing his pants when he saw them and putting them back on (it was almost comical).  ECs or non-resort people monopolizing the singing at Piano Bar.  One night in the hot tub, a couple put on a good show.  Unfortunately the end of the show concluded with a "direct deposit" in the hot tub.

OVERALL,  It was a good trip!!  We'll be back!
