Amy - December, 2010 Wet, Wild, and Wicked ®

We just returned from our first trip to Hedo 2. Had a great time and we definitely liked it enough to return. We booked through Denny and registered with the WWW group. I participated in a few of the chats leading up to the trip, so there were a number of WWW’ers that I was looking forward to meeting in person.  I liked being a part of the group, although we didn’t hang out at the pool very much. It was great being able to stop and say hi and chat with lots of different people in the dining room at night. We spent all our days on the beach down by the volleyball court, so we didn’t get involved in the activities going on at the nude pool. We did cheer the volleyball players on when they came down to play, though.

Here are some insights that I think might be useful for other first timers. As an FYI, we traveled with 2 other couples & my sister, so we were all hanging out together for the week.

1.       Plan accordingly for all the dress up nights! I was really busy with work and figured I wouldn’t want to dress up anyway, so I didn’t bring anything. The theme nights were REALLY fun. Fortunately I was able to pull stuff together for some of the nights with the help of our friends that were there. During one of our ‘vacation rehash’ talks, dressing up for the theme nights was definitely a highlight.

2.       We stayed in an ocean view prude. They are nothing special, no sliding door to the beach or anything. Unless I was going to go whole hog and get a nude-side jacuzzi room, I would stick with garden view. There just wasn’t a compelling reason to pay anything over the cheapest room rate. Rooms need updating, but they were clean, so no complaints. Certainly didn’t mind the walk to the nude side.

3.       Food. No complaints. Had Charlie’s omelets almost every morning, and anytime we ate in the dining room I had pasta made by Neascha (jeez, I’m butchering her name, and she even told me how to spell it), who was a real sweetie. We ate twice at Martinos (I had lamb both times, delicious), and twice at the Japanese place(its like Beni Hana, hard to screw that up). Also were there for 2 lobster nights. They did a lobster Bisque for the first and it was wonderful.

4.       PDA’s…wow! LOL!  Plenty to talk about at dinner after a day at the beach! We got a HUGE kick out of this because it was somewhat unexpected after reading reports of the sex police. Evidently the sex police don’t swim, or once you are floating on a raft you’re out of their jurisdiction! J

5.       Entertainment. We liked the nightly shows for the most part. The Burlesque group that was there during the week performed on our last night. I’d really been looking forward to their show because they all looked a little retro and I figured they would do some classic burlesque…not so much. It was just…weird, and kind of gross in a couple of cases. We had fun in the piano bar, and I’ll never be able to hear Sweet Caroline again without a flashback! The music in the disco is really loud (as everyone says) but it was tolerable in the bar area, and when I was drunk and dancing I didn’t mind it a bit. Evidently its all about your frame of mind! J

6.       Lifestylers/swingers/unwanted advances. I think that a lot of first time visitors are nervous about this aspect of Hedo, and I can say that I never felt uncomfortable even though there were some subtle and not so subtle invitations. Everybody is very easy going and when its obvious that it isn’t your scene, no harm, no foul.

That’s about it. Thanks to all the WWW’ers that made us feel so welcome!
