Jay & Alba - September, 2005 Wet, Wild, and Wicked

Its been about a week now since we returned from our trip to Desire with Dennys WWW group. What a wild ride we had, on this trip with them!!  Virgins no more!!

My previous career involved planning every detail for every situation.  We were the newbies and were trying to figure out what to expect.  Alba and I exchanged emails and chatted online with several couples in the group, prior to our departure.  Wished more people would have participated.  One couple(M&B) gave us some words of wisdom youre thinking too much, forget it.  They were right.  The Desire slogan Stop Thinking Start Living is so true.  If you have never been to Desire, there is no way youre gonna be able to plan around this environment.

To fully enjoy our vacation, we tried to participate in as many of the activities, as possible:

Lazy Games

Naked Twister

Riding the Hobie Cat

Dart contest

Horseshoes

Bingo

Volleyball Pool everyday, sand occasionally.  Loved it.

Water aerobics, thanks Chava for moving to the shallow end for Alba!!!  Shes only 5 ft tall so all youd probably would have seen is a couple arms sticking out of the water!!

We hung out at the disco, hit the Jacuzzi, and stayed up until about 3 am every nite.   Thought we could get up early, fuggetaboutit.  Usually got down to breakfast before 10am.  Everything seemed a little fuzzy for a few hours.  Thanx - John/Vicki for the sunrise pictures.

A couple rainstorms blew thru but that didnt dampen our spirits one bit.  One time we hung out at the Jacuzzi bar, a storm came in and everyone left.  Was only the bartender, Alba and I up there for an hour or so.  The storm died down, got calm and then people started coming back up.  Gonna take more than a little wind, rain and lightning to get us away from  the bar!

Customs wasnt too bad, of course we got the dreaded red light.  So funny watching one of the female baggage inspectors go thru our luggage.  She had her plastic gloves on and once she noticed some of our paraphernalia, she was very careful where and how she picked up the items in our suitcases.  Kinda like when you check out your babys diaper and not sure what youre gonna find when you look in there! And she did this to both our suitcases!!  Hilarious, tried to keep from laughing out loud.  Wished our camera was out and we couldve captured her facial expressions!!  You would think she saw stuff like this before?

Memorable highlights (at least for us)

Our room was on the second floor but somehow managed to have a 6 inch long black scorpion find me.  It was in some clothes I was washing in the sink. Bit me on the finger, didnt kill it but caught it in a small towel. Took it to the lobby and quietly went over to the lady at the desk.  Boy did she jump when I opened the towel.  Not my towel, the one with the scorpion in it!!  Anyway, she got on her walkie talkie and in about 10 seconds there was a lot of security personnel ooohing and aaahhing over me at the lobby bar.  A security guy rubbed some kind of cream from a first aid kit on my finger and then proceeded to remove the stinger from the critter.  They were trying to figure out if any of the stinger was in my finger.  They said it was a good thing it bit me on my finger and not on my other finger, would have really ruined my time at Desire, eh?  Come to find out that since it was a black scorpion (not poisonous), I would be OK.  They were right, finger did not swell and after that, the bartenders (Carlos and Adan) called me the Scorpion King.  Odd that we have a lot of scorpions here in Phoenix and never saw one until we got to Desire!!

Got pinched by a crab too.  Was wandering down by the beach, minding my own business walking in a few inches of water.   Alba and Vicki were looking at another crab which was crawling around.  Didnt notice another one hiding in the sand waiting for its next victim.   Guess I got too close and it decided to let me know by clamping on to my toe.  Didnt hurt but, boy, it lets you know its there.

Heard a couple watched us during on of our exercise routines through our room window.  Erotic.  Alba also forced me onto the beds one night.  Was very erotic also.  Moans and groans emanating from elsewhere, stars in the sky, wind blowing thru the curtains, aahhh.  Only odd thing, was someone in a nearby bed discussing camping and shopping at Walmart.  I believe there are more pleasing topics to discuss during this time, eh!!

In honor of Rick/Marie, who couldnt make it because of Hurricane Katrina, we sang  Margaritaville with the live band and were still wonderin wheres that damn salt?

Antics in the hottub and disco you had to be there!!!

Jacuzzi bar - Incident which involved a hand and insertion into a womans private part.  You had to be there to experience it.  So cool, like living in a porn movie.

Body shots boy these arent like the ones at the frat parties!!!

Food was good, lots of choices.  Cant understand why people complained about it in other postings.  Il Piacere, Cielito Lindo and the buffet were great!!  Couldnt keep Alba away from Francesco though!!  Francesco, sono la tua fidensata sempre

Theme nites oooo boy.  Alba and I participated in all of them.  If you didnt have a good time, you had no one to blame but yourself.  Cant dance at all but somehow Chava and Popi found me and thru some excessive coercion got me to wiggle around.  Didnt have to impress anyone so what the h*ll.   Actually won a tshirt for my dancing like Michael Jackson out at the pool.  It was more like stumbling around, so Michael doesnt have to worry about me competing with his dancing skills, thanx JJ.

Erotic toy exchange was fantastic!!  Won special soap at the toy exchange which I use every day and it reminds me of the great times we had at Desire.

Only complaints Alba was looking out the window when we were getting on the plane during our layover in Houston.  We had very large and one of a kind baggage tags with our names engraved on them, attached to our luggage. Not expensive but weve had them for over 15 years and they have survived countless trips across the US and overseas.  More sentimental value than anything else.  I told Alba that the only way those kind of tags can come off is, if the handle broke.  She alerted a stewardess and showed her our tags lying on the tarmac, the stewardess  laughed and said we shouldnt be looking out the window!!   When we arrived in Mexico, one of our suitcases which had two large handles, were both broken off.   The airlines was gracious enough to stop out at Desire, pick up the suitcase and return it several days later with new handles that actually looked like they belonged on the suitcase.  Never did get the tags back.  Coming back into the US, the same suitcase had  the complete foot system, which keeps the suitcase standing upright,  broken off.  Stopping  by the baggage complaint area this time was useless.  The gentleman said the airline is not responsible for feet or wheels that become disconnected from the baggage.    Thanks Continental Air.  Maybe well choose Delta(eh Ed/Joanna?) next time!!

Cudos to bartenders David, Luis, Carlos, Adan   One day, Alba drank almost a whole bottle of champagne by herself, almost needed a leash then to contain her from being overly friendly with whoever came near.  Only 5 ft tall but can be a handful, at times.  I tried to hide my Johnny Walker Red with mente verde (Mexican version of crme de menthe) so others wouldnt think I was a lush.   But something gave me away.  No, no, no, Mike, my slanted/squinty eyes are natural!!

Most memorable activity personnel - Andrea, Chava, Aldo (aka Popi), and JJ.  Someone told me that my new name Jackie Chan must have been called out about 1004 times!!  Popi could never get my nationality right!  All in fun!!

Thanks to Denny for making sure us virgins had a great time, getting a bang for our buck and for ensuring that all our documentation was in order.  Alba is a citizen of another country, sure would have hated to leave her stuck in Mexico.  Actually would have felt sorry for the Mexicans having to deal with her hot blooded Italian attitude. Heheee

We arrived back in the US, safe and sound.  It was nice to hear the border agent say Welcome Home.  Its nice to visit outside countries but were always glad to be back home.   Would not hesitate if we got a chance to travel back to Desire with Dennys  WWW group.

Loved you all that made our 30th wedding anniversary so memorable -  John/Vicki, Roger/Sharon, Chuck/Laurel, Frank/Denise, Mike/Barb, Ed/Joanna, Dan/Marty, Dave/Linz, Jerry/Lin, Denny/Serall, Ed/Inna, Mac/Annie.  Thanks for all the drinks you guys bought me.  Hope our paths cross again.   Arrivaderci prossimo anno.
