Bob & Fran - December, 2004 Wet, Wild, and Wicked

Hedo II Trip Report     December 3 December 11, 2004     Fran & Bob

This was our first flight on Air Jamaica.  We already knew they had cancelled all the flights coming back on 12/11/04 so we were already booked on US Air to come home.  This flight had been changed a couple times.  When checking in at the airport they didnt seem to have a clue what was what and we really were not at all certain wed actually have a flight to get home.  While we liked the direct flight, this made us think twice about Air Jamaica.

As indicated by Chris Santilli, customs getting into Jamaica was somewhat tougher.  Out of the 7 of us traveling from Maine we were sure someone would get tagged for a searchwe drew the short straw!  Bob was a little uptight about it but it really was no big deal, other then the fact that it held us up for a bit.  They lightly searched our belongings and nothing got pegged.  We headed into the SuperClubs area and when all the inquiring faces turned to us we gave them the thumbs up.  We were good to go.

Check in was no big deal.  It helps to arrive on the Friday ahead of most of the WWWs. We arrived in time to still get lunch, so while waiting for room assignments we all headed in to eat.  I was dying to get down to the beach to see friends we knew were already there but it could wait.

We dropped our stuff in the room, including our clothes, and headed for the beach.  We were anxious to see Quintin and Kris and Jim and Rayne.  As we walked across the beach I saw Jim point us out.  When we got to the beach we discovered Quintin & Kris had gone for massages.  They thought we were due in the next day!  We met Kay and Bill, 2 single Hedo virgins who had come from Utah with Jim and Rayne.  We visited a bit before deciding we should do some unpacking and try to reach our American friend, Barry, who is from Maine but lives in Negril.  He was bringing us some cases of Heineken and some other goodies while we were bringing him some printer cartridges.  (Thanks Barry from the whole gang!)  When we got back to the hottub for happy hour Quintin and Kris were there.  Kris nearly bowled me over when I got there.  I thought for sure theyd be napping after massages.  It was wonderful to see them.  We had lots more friends joining the fun on Saturday.

Each day was the same yet different.  The early birds (Us, Iggy, Kevin & Wendy, Sue & Ken, Scott & Jody) would hit the beach and score numerous chairs on our acreage.  With Scott & Jody scoring that particular shade spot they love so much!  Workouts for some, breakfast and then the beach.  For Bob, there was always the stop over in the room to print pictures of the previous days adventures for those who were that days most entertaining.  People do tend to take turns!  Lunch, laughs and the daily Heineken run would follow.  Bob would head to the room for the cooler and fill it with Heineken and ice to be enjoyed by all later.  Heini time, which also included the infamous Heini photo shoot.  (Sometimes there would be a waterslide adventure.)  Then, some would head to the pool while we usually hung on the beach to take in the sunset.  Hot tub and schedule a time for dinner.

The first night was Friday and the Grand Buffet and was it ever!!  There were so many choices, lobster in abundance, and desserts that made Fran a very happy chocoholic.   Everyone agreed it was a wonderful improvement.  The second night we booked reservations at the Japanese restaurant.  This is one of our favorite places to eat at Hedo II and we were not disappointed.  We also ate there a second time this trip. Monday night a group of 19 of us headed out for dinner at Xtabi, a restaurant on the cliffs.  Its been an annual event now for the past several years.  Its always a wonderful meal and great fun.

After dinner would usually take us to our corner seat in the piano bar for drinks, conversation, an abundance of laughs and lord only knows what else.  There is no better feeling in the world then when you face hurts from smiling and your belly hurts from laughing.  THAT is one of the best things about Hedo II for us.  Laughing with people we love.  Laughter really is the best medicine.  It makes it so we can go back to reality with a renewed spirit.

When it would get late enough, we would usually head to the disco to dance till we couldnt stand it any longer then head for the late night hot tub.

Observation:  When you already know a big group of people you tend not to make as many new friends.  Bob and I use to know nearly everyone staying at the resort the same time as us.  Now, that isnt true anymore.  (Granted, this is a busier week then we used to go.)  I feel bad that we didnt meet more of you.  I am sure to some we seem like an unapproachable clique.  This is not the case.

Highlights and Notables:

Saturday, December 4th

3 of our Maine contingency ran in the Reggae Half Marathon.  It started at 5:00 am and was 13 miles!  Way to go Deb, Kevin and Wendy!!

Sunday, December 5th

Bobs 45th birthday and Sues 40th birthday.  Kris really made this extra special for Bob by surprising him through out the day.  It started with birthday hats for both Sue and Bob first thing in the morning.  Later, Kris tied Bob onto his beach chair using Happy Birthday streamers.  Ray Ray came by during this time and he got all excited upon seeing Bob like that.  He said he was going to give him a blowjob.  He got down real close and everyone was wondering what he was going to do.  Bobs eyes got real big and wait is that a bead of sweat?  Ray Ray then literally blew softly at Bobs penis.  Everyone burst out laughing! Later, a group of 7 got Bob with silly string and one can turned out to be red colored hair spray.  Bob didnt mind since two of the women conspirators helped him wash off in the shower!  Kris also left balloons and a banner on our room door.  That night Wendy arranged 2 tables with birthday sayings and cakes and champagne where we all celebrated with both Sue and Bob.  I gave Bob some bosom balloons while we gave Sue some 22 penis balloons.  Wendy & Kevin gave each of them a goodie bag filled with adult novelty items.

Monday, December 6th

As mentioned, our annual trip to Xtabi for dinner.  This year the group went in two separate vans and on the way back our van made a side trip adventure in search of Red Bull.  Darren had brought some cans of MONSTER with him to Hedo and being a generous soul, shared it with everyone.  SO, replacement for vodka and energy drink was paramount.  The van driver took us to a Texaco/convenience mart where Bob and Darren jumped out and headed into the store.  They came out laughing having spent some $2400 Jamaican money and carrying on and we wondered what was up.   WELL, Darren had found this Jamaica porn magazine in the store and just HAD to purchase it.  The rest of the ride back was full of laughs over the magazine and even later in the piano bar this continued.  The best line was when Amy, who was sitting up front with the driver, shouted just as seriously as could beLook, its you! and showed it to the driver.  He loved it of course!!

Tuesday, December 7th

PJ party was so much fun this year and mostly AFTER most everyone left.  The DJ was excellent, playing lots of rock and roll.  Once he caught on to the fact that we were all into it he just kept it going.  We danced our asses off till the wee hours.  This was Darren and Amys last night there and they were most definitely the nights entertainment.  Darren had on a red cape and we called him Red Bull Man.  He flew around the whole disco before dancing with everyone and anyone.  Bob took 163 pictures!  Oh what a night

Wednesday, December 8th

Roots Bamboo for Reggae on the beach.  Its nice to be reminded of the life that originally drew us back to Jamaica time and time again.  Happy people, happy music

We also got to see our friend Barry again.

Thursday, December 9th

Another great night in the disco with Erkle as the hit of the night!  Oh, and mustnt forgetScott gets Jody on the pole!  The only nighttime water slide adventure with both Jody and Denise taking their first (and 2nd) runs on the slide.
