May 15-22, 2004
This would be a trip of FIRSTS; my first trip to Hedonism 3 and my first trip with the WWW group. I had been to Hedonism 2 twice before so I knew a bit of what to expect.
I was traveling with a guy who I have been best friends with for almost 10 years. Since I frequently travel as a single woman, it was great to have a travel partner! It worked out great sharing the room with my friend and I feel like I had the best of both worlds. We had fun together but also were free to explore other possibilities and have fun on our own.
The trip on Air Jamaica out of OHare was uneventful. All flights on time, champagne breakfast so who could ask for more? These days so many airlines only give you a coke and peanuts or nothing at all so who should complain if the food is mediocre. At least you get something to eat.
I have to say that the bus ride to Runaway Bay was very bumpy and made me a little car sick. Its too bad there is no other way to get there. I hope that they get the road done soon or in the next 5-10 years or so.
Once we were there, our room was not ready. I dont know why it took so long but our room was not ready for several hours after we got there. Is it because I asked for TWIN BEDS? No problem, it was fun to explore the resort for a while, have lunch and a drink, and check the schedule to see what we had in store for our week.
When my friend and I finally got to the nude pool, I had some misgivings since he had not done anything like this before. My worries were unfounded. He got naked right away and I left him alone for a while to give him some space and let him get comfortable with the situation. NO PROBLEM MON. He loved it and I had no worries about him the rest of the week.
The rest of the week was a blur of lying around the nude pool, relaxation, great food, and great fun with the WWW group. I will mention a few of the people who made my week the best and forgive me if I leave someone out: Ed and Juanita, Debbie, Mike, Sister Mary Katherine and Lou, Bill and Wendy, Laura, Wayne, Jim and Sue, Gary and Gloria and of course my friend John.
Special thanks to Bob-- thanks for making my week very memorable! And Roger who I met at the nude hot tub one night, you were a riot and thanks for the good time.
One thing bothered me during the week: some of the couples in the WWW group had been there before together several times and were not very friendly to others that were not in their group. I was really discouraged by this since it reminded me of high school or something. I am the sort of person that is kind of reserved but I like to be friendly and open to everyone. I am not judging them so that if they wanted to only hang with their group then that is their right. I am just saying that I was a little bit disappointed by it. The majority of people there were great, very friendly and fun to be around.
We went on the canopy tour with a couple from Holland. I would highly recommend this tour. It was a fantastic experience and I would definitely do it again on my next trip.
I will make a few comparisons to Hedo 2 if anyone is interested or debating on which resort to go to. I think that Hedo 2 is a bit more wild and crazy; more PDAs, at least during the weeks that I was there in February 2002 and 2003. The nude hot tub is bigger at Hedo 2. The beach at Hedo 2 is a lot larger and more people hang out at the beach there. I have to say that I prefer Hedo 3 for the following reasons: it is cleaner, newer, rooms are more modern, air conditioning in the room is better, less walking distance from place to place and the staff seems more dedicated and friendly. I also like the quad pool being clothing optional. It was a nice change to be nude but get some peace and quiet time during the day and be able to swim laps in the nude. It seems that you cannot get a good, hot shower at either Hedo 2 or Hedo 3!!
It rained the last few days that we were there which was a bit of a disappointment. The experience of being in the nude hot tub at night, in the rain, with three guys at my disposal fulfilled my fantasy!!! Thanks to you guys for the experience!
A special thanks to Denny for being a wonderful host for the trip. I would definitely recommend the WWW trips for anyone, especially single people who want to be with a group to meet people and have fun.
