WWW Trip Report Second Trip 12/7 - 12/11

We decided to give AJ a try this time and caught their very early flight. We actually landed pretty close to on time, a small miracle for AJ we know. We were only going to Hedo for four days, so we had hoped to avoid checking luggage. Unfortunately, a not so pleasant AJ employee counted my wife’s purse as a carry-on so we ended up checking a bag. After plenty of tense moments waiting, and waiting, and waiting in MoBay for our bag with all our most needed items (slut wear, PJ’s, unmentionables), we finally made our way over to the TimAir desk.

We had decided to take TimAir due to the marathon between MoBay and Negril. The trip over to TimAir was very fast and we were on a plane in a matter of minutes. Even with the luggage delay, we were at the front desk of Hedo just after noon, less than 60 minutes after touch down at MoBay. Excellent!

We got an upgrade from Hedo to ocean view nude so this trip was off to a great start. We’re not the type to spend any time in our room other than changing and the ever so infrequent sleeping but it was nice view anyway. Our understanding was that Hedo was down to just a few open nude side rooms so the upgrade was a matter of no other room being open at that time. We “changed” out of our clothes and had our grilled cheese and a Vodka slush in our 32oz insulated mugs just minutes later.

Meeting everyone in the WWW crew was a lot of fun. We had met a few at a party in the States a few months ahead of time so that helped in trying to remember at least a few of the 237 names. When in doubt, we called everyone Jim, since there were plenty of Jim’s - LOL. Saturday was a lot of fun as we spent most of it in the pool and the hot tub waiting not so patiently for that first taste of jerk chicken again. Later on, we ate at PastaFari’s, which was nice, but the company we had was better. Then, we moved on to our nightly ritual of the piano bar, then the disco for some dancing, and then eventually off to the hot tub for some late night “relaxing”. We choose not to use our giant mugs during the evening for two reasons. First, we didn’t want to drag around anything that large, and second, we found it helped us pace our way through the evening much better.

While this is probably not considered highlight reading for most trip reports, as a service to “newbies” we’ll mention that we added one more ritual to our daily schedule this year, taking a nap. What a different this makes in order to survive at Hedo. Since we typically stay up until 4 or 5am every night, and then get up in plenty of time to catch breakfast, usually, a short nap after jerk chicken in the hot tub and before dinner really helped keep us going.

Almost every morning we staked out a spot at the pool to tan. We were concerned that with the resort running close to 100% occupancy, chairs would be hard to come by. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we could usually get one with no problem. One thing we noticed is that the pool staff is cleaning up all resort towels every night. In the past, it seemed that they would leave the towel if someone had a book on it or other personal items to mark “their” chair. The change of towel collecting at night seemed to help the fresh towel supply every morning.

We did not bring a float this time and actually ended up wishing we had. Most afternoons were spent floating out in the ocean and floats with expired dates on them were in demand. Thankfully we had some friends in that had a nice float that we got to borrow every now and then. Next time, we’ll be bringing a nice two-person float. We’ll also be working on a way to engineer a nice drink holder too that fits a 32oz mug! There we a few big flotillas about and we all enjoyed waving at the Sandals and Glass Bottom Boat tours, or what they really should be called, the “nekkid people tour”. – LOL.

Weather was pretty typical for Jamaica during our stay. We were fortunate to have crystal clear mornings followed by scattered clouds in the afternoons and the occasional sprinkle here and there but nothing much except for one day. The nights were very pleasant.

Sunday was just like most days we have at Hedo and we found our rhythm in a hurry. We spent as much time in the sun as possible, held off on the really serious drinking until at least noon (how’s that for a sacrifice), and ate five times a day (breakfast, grilled cheese, jerk chicken, dinner, midnight snack). I’m still trying to figure out how I gained so much weight! ;) One other thing that helped add on the weight was the chocolate body candy. A nice couple brought along enough for darn near the whole hot tub so after jerk chicken we all had dessert! Note to self; bring plenty of chocolate next time!

Sunday night was the WWW welcome party. We were quite stunned by the level of generosity of the whole WWW crew. We had a zillion presents collected for the kids and I’m sure they greatly appreciated the efforts from everyone. Thanks to all those that organized such a worthwhile effort. Hedo was a little tardy turning on the air conditioning in the disco but it was a beautiful night out so standing on the deck ocean side at the disco was a nice thing to do anyway and we all watched a thunderstorm pass in the distant night sky. Later on, we ate at Munahana’s. We do enjoy the chefs there and they work very hard to make sure everyone is entertained, as well as served a great meal. Like so many things at Hedo, the more effort and energy you put into something, the more fun you have as a result. The chefs at Munahana’s love an energetic table.

Monday was the wet T-shirt contest. We did grab a good seat and ate lunch during the show. The room was pretty well packed and a healthy portion of that crowd was WWW, including the winner. We spent the balance of the day floating in the ocean. We were very fortunate to have a great group of people to talk to and spend lots of relaxing moments just contemplating the more enjoyable aspects of life. Monday was the only night we truly didn’t spend much time dancing. The music was much more hip-hop than dance and we just couldn’t get into the mood for that. So, we headed down to the hot tub and ended up closing it down. A first for us :)

The crowd at the resort over all was a lot of fun. A hip-hop station from New York was in for the week and except for a couple rude people one night, everything was Irie Mon. We did have a couple of Vinnie’s in the hot tub who needed a little attitude adjustment though. It just never fails to amaze me that any guy would think it’s perfectly okay to swim over and just start fondling a woman. These guys do so much to set back the efforts of all the decent single guys at Hedo; it’s truly a shame. We had one guy who was trying to grab one of the ladies in our group and would not take “no” for an answer. He found himself leaving the hot tub quickly, and soon after, escorted from Hedo by security off the grounds. Believe it or not, this guy actually had a condom hanging off his member as he left the hot tub. That’s a little presumptuous, don’t you think? But for every one of these social misfits, we met 100 really fabulous people who more than make up for it!

As for the part of the report that grabs the attention, PDA’s were around and about, but to a lesser degree than we had previously witnessed. To be honest, we were having too good a time to notice too many PDA’s anyway, at least other than our own. The two of us had planned on providing some entertainment on the ocean for the people back on the beach but decided to save that for our next visit. So most of the real visual action was reserved for later in the evening by the hot tub.

While we’re still on the topic of the hot tub, the temperatures varied pretty good day to day. The first couple of days it was more like the cool tub. Monday and Tuesday it was more of a “hot” tub. Wednesday qualified as the scald-your-buns-off tub, at least during the afternoon. Water clarity was pretty good considering the crowd in the tub and the pool everyday. As usual, the prude pool was crystal clear. An indication of a true lack of use :)

We had a few organized WWW takeovers of the slide during our stay. There’s nothing quite like the slide in the middle of the afternoon to cool things off and to rejuvenate the senses for the rest of the day! We’d rate the slide as one of the best, if not the best, new feature from last year’s construction efforts.

Tuesday was our last full day at Hedo so we were determined to make it the best day we ever had. We caught the WWW catamaran cruise over to the reefs and then to the Pickled Parrot. I’m very happy to report that we got no jellyfish stings this time while swimming in the ocean – whew! One of the couples brought Jell-O shots on the cruise too. So we did Jell-O shots and watched those brave enough jump off the cliffs. One of the other highlights of the Catamaran cruise are the “chase” boats that come along side. It’s always comical to see the Sandals or Breezes guests who pay to come out to see all the nekkid people from Hedo.

When we got back to Hedo, we grabbed some lunch and then decided to float around again. Since we had never truly walked the beach, a group of us decided a little later on to take a little tour of 7-mile beach. The ladies went topless and we were quite amused at the reactions from the folks at Sandals and Breezes and the other resorts. One of the other interesting phenomenons was the quotient of women trying to get their husband’s attention away from watching our very beautiful companions. There is such a stark contrast between the party in the hot tub at Hedo, versus the party, or the lack thereof, that is going on at the other resorts. By count of the people out on the beach, I’d estimate that Sandals was less than 25% full. On the way back, just as we were really enjoying the ruckus we were causing, the skies opened up with one heck of a rain storm and we had to high-tail it back to Hedo. Again, at Sandals, everyone was hiding underneath the roof of the beach bar or back in their rooms watching TV. At Hedo, we were all standing in the hot tub, drinking, and having a great time.

The rain on Tuesday night qualified as a real gully washer. We were quickly reminded why we should have brought a candle as Hedo lost power intermittently on the nude side from 5:45 until around 10:00pm. A few folks who took naps during the storm were surprised to find that the in room alarms didn’t go off and they ended up sleeping most of the night away.

Despite the occasional power loss, Hedo did make up for it in spades by serving Lobster! You heard right, Lobster! Grilled and swimming in butter and it was very good. Even better, we saw no roof leaks. So we got to eat lobster, occasionally in candlelight, with a group of great people, and stayed dry the entire time.

Since Tuesday is PJ night, we got into our PJ’s and headed off to the disco. My bride was a very fetching playboy bunny while I went as Hugh Hefner. The bunny got asked her name at the door and Hugh did not. She later won second place in the sexiest category and WWW cleaned up several of the awards. Congrats to one of our new friends for taking second in the bondage category. Both ladies took first place in our hearts though!

Later, we made our way to the hot tub for one last evening of fun and relaxing. There was a report of a blue dolphin that kept making an appearance in the hot tub. Hmmm, maybe next time we’ll find out more about that <wink>.

Wednesday we checked out and then put our bags in some friends’ room. We saw a couple of folks off and did a little gardening out at Moon Hill for them. Since we flew AJ, we were able to check-in at the disco. This is really a nice advantage for AJ since you can completely avoid the lines at the airport. Since our bus didn’t depart until 4pm, we got a chance to lay around and enjoy the day as best we could. It is difficult though to really let loose when you know that there’s the bus soon come Mon. After a few Vodka slushes and a couple of grilled cheese, a final float around the ocean and quick trip to find the best jet in the cool pool, we finally had to force ourselves to leave Hedo once again, at least for a little while.

The bus ride was a breeze. We made it to MoBay, even with the late day traffic and all the schools letting out, in just over an hour – and that was with a very courteous driver! Our apologies to the folks we rode back with as anytime we leave Hedo, we’re pretty much wiped out, not to mention the emotional toll we feel from having to leave and saying goodbye to our friends. So, needless to say, we don’t talk nearly as much on the way out of Hedo as we do on the way into it. AJ was late taking off so we ended up landing a good hour late. After a fairly lengthy ride home, we walked in the backdoor of our house at 2:30am, which made work the next day quite a struggle.

Looking back, we once again packed too many clothes, but believe it or not, not enough shoes. Since a lot of my wife’s FMP’s don’t make it out of the closet except for Hedo, it would have been better if she had a few different pairs to wear to help with the feet. We keep improving our Hedo packing list handy every time we go. Maybe after 20 trips, we’ll have the packing list down to a science.

Cell phone service for us was working this time! While I will refuse to ever let anyone at work know this, it was very handy for calling back home and checking in on the kids. We have Cingular as our provider and as we haven’t received the bill yet, we can’t comment on the roaming charges.

Security was much improved over our last trip. Many thanks to Hedo for making us feel much safer virtually anywhere on the grounds.

We also ran into loads of people wondering where we got our insulated mugs. The best place we know of are the gas stations that have larger convenience marts attached to them. Hedo was completely sold out and with as large a group as we were with, having no mug is a sure way to either a) spend all your time by Delroy (not a bad thing), or b) spend your vacation very sober.

We want to thank the whole WWW crew and especially Denny for making us feel so welcome. We just loved seeing so many of our friends and meeting so many new ones. It was also great to meet so many of the people we chat with or exchange posts with on Denny’s site. We wish we could have stayed a little longer and gotten to know more people but our schedule just would not allow it. Four nights made for a great whirlwind vacation, but left precious little time to get around and talk to everyone. So we apologize if we missed anyone or didn’t get to spend as much time with you as we wanted to.

We usually don’t mention the people we meet by name in a trip report out of respect for their privacy, so please allow us instead to simply say a special thank you to all our ocean floating, eating and dancing friends from the week. We really enjoyed meeting you all and thank you for making our trip so memorable. While Hedo is a great place for new experiences we value new friendships much more and are especially grateful for those we made during our brief stay.

Respect,

P&L
