John & Nancy - December, 2002 Wet, Wild, and Wicked

This being our second trip, let me compare it to the first one.

Travel:

This one sucked. After getting up at 0400 to get to our 0730 A/J departure, we were 30 minutes from boarding when we got the word of an indefinite delay. Two and a half hours later we were told the flight was canceled. My mother had driven us to the airport in my Explorer and then had a wreck on the way home. It was totaled, but she was ok. Talk about a bad way to start a vacation! So, we were put on the same flight the next day. Everything went smoothly except, we lost the first day of our vacation. We were in a pretty bad mood that day, but after arrival, that quickly faded into the past and we started having a great time.

The Food:

Some nights were a little better, some were a little worse. They had lobster one night and that did not happen last year. The Japanese restaurant was quite good. The sushi was not great but over all, the meal was good. We went to The Rock House one night for dinner for 21. The food was good. The friends were great. The service was slow, but its difficult with 21 people. It was fun, but probably wont do it again. Thank you, Diane for organizing it. You do know how to handle the problems with transportation, polite but very persistent.

The Resort:

The improvements were really nice. The water slide was great. I saw 1 person on the rock wall one day. The Ice Rink, yea, right. Went by the new gym and spa. It all looked great, but I did not partake. Since the place was at 110% capacity we did not even complain about our king size bed, which was 2 twins put together. We are hopping that as we become more veteran, we will improve our chances in getting more desirable rooms/locations.

The Activities:

Volley Ball everyday was great and extent of my exercise. Nancy entered and won the Wet T-Shirt contest. That was great! She had the smile, the energy, and the attitude. Many of the WWW ladies were very happy to see the beautiful 40 something lady beat out the really cute 20 something lady and 12 others. She just gets better each year. Three couples had an hour long latex painting party for PJ night. The Latex Blinky ladies even won in one of the categories. The guys won because we got to paint on some lovely subjects. The unofficial, unscheduled activities are still the most fun when youve got great friends around.

Veronicas

A fun place, but hard to handle the smoky environment very long. I think that place did more to hurt my throat than anything. Dave remembered me from last year and called me Kenny Rogers again. Every one should be grateful that Kenny Rogers was on vacation and did not sing. This voice would make Jakes sound good. (Sorry Jake, couldnt resist on that one.) Saw a formally really prude WWW lady do piece by piece. Everyone I told this to was shocked! You go girl! Too bad you banned all pictures.

The People:

It was really great to already know many people from last year as well as continuing to meet new friends. It was nice to see the other former virgins like us, be part of the veterans of WWW. We did our best to help initiate the new virgins. Since we were a day late and some were leaving early, we missed spending much time with several couples, but well just try harder next year.

Summary:

We had such a great time last year, we were hopping to repeat everything, but each year is different. Some folks from last year could not make this trip, but we met some new, hopefully life long friends. We cant wait to get back and do it all again with the friends that we spent a lot of time, and those that we would like to spend more time with.
