Well... seeing how our trip report for WWW Summer 1999 was the last one to be posted I thought I’d try and shock Denny by getting this year’s done in a hurry.  Bare (haha)  with me as I’m running on about 1/4 brain capacity right now.

Wow, what a trip!  I truly did not expect this trip to be better than last year’s, but I was wrong.  Last year, being “virgins”, Mark and I didn’t mingle too much.  We vowed to ourselves, unbeknownst to the other, to be mingling maniacs this year and I believe that had a great impact on the success of our stay.  I still struggled each day to remember names and get them attached to the proper faces.  Maybe I should try some gingko next year!

I suppose, as I did with last year’s trip report, I’d like to touch on some things that made the trip memorable for me and the easiest way is to begin with our arrival.  Walking to the nude pool right after arriving and seeing so many familiar and friendly faces was awesome.  It felt like we all just picked up where we had left off.  The welcome reception was very nice.  The buffet they provided was wonderful.  Monday’s Boomer’s Magical Mystery Tour gave us a chance to get some fabulous margaritas at Margarita Ville.  There were very few people there during our stop but it looked like it could be a wild place.  image001.png (468734 bytes)Tuesday afternoon I found myself reluctantly entered into the wet t-shirt contest.  It honestly was fun.  Afterall, who can complain about 4 great guys licking chocolate fudge sauce off their bod???  I was totally surprised to be announced the winner, considering the huge competition. It was a clean sweep for WWW.  We rule!  Tuesday night, just before the PJ Party, Mark and I renewed our wedding vows on a small knoll in the garden. image003.png (165897 bytes) I had brought almost 30 white tapers and seeing everyone walking up the small hill with the candles lighting their way was beautiful. The mood set by the Reverend was fun and romantic and very touching.  Although our anniversary isn’t until December, Mark and I couldn’t think of a better place or with greater people to celebrate our love and commitment to eachother.  Robin and Damian have already sent us pics of the event and they are wonderful (that doesn’t mean we don’t want to see any other pics you all might have)  The PJ party was about the same as all PJ parties... hot and crowded.  We headed to the hot tub before it was over but we heard later that the WWWers took away plenty of awards that evening.  Wednesday’s memorable event was the WWW cat cruise.  Always a crowd pleaser.  And it was wonderful to see so many men get in touch with their feminine sides on the way back.  After the cat cruise some of us did some birthday/anniversary celebrating in the nude pool.  Heck, we were celebrating anything!  That is if you call being put on a pool mat, having a frozen drink poured over your body and then licked off by some very accommodating friend celebrating.  Thursday... Toga!  image005.png (447077 bytes)This was the first time I felt “put off”, for lack of a better phrase.  It was so packed with people, we even had trouble finding a table to eat dinner.  We were told later that Hedo buses in people from other resorts for Toga night.  Getting to the dining room early will be more important for future Toga nights.  The purple toga idea was great, everyone looked awesome.  The talent show was, well... you know.  The bad stuff is really bad and the good stuff is great.  Guest participation made it so much better and I’m not going to complain about seeing the same skit from the staff.  I only have to watch it once a year, they have to do it every week!  We didn’t stay for much of the Toga party.  For some reason it seemed to lack the energy it had last year and I can’t help thinking it was because of the entertainment coordinators.  I’m not knocking those working this year, it’s just impossible to match Shaka’s energy and with Marc being on vacation, it just wasn’t the same all week.  The mood changed Friday.  People are leaving and everyone feels it.  Some responded with, “Hey, we’re leaving soon too so lets kick this into high gear!”  And that’s just what happened.  Bring on the Pussy Girls!  Saturday was even tougher with more people leaving but those of us remaining managed to muddle through.  We muddled through the vanilla pudding, we muddled through the blue and green frosting, we muddled through the chocolate body paint and we muddled through a huge bottle of chocolate syrup.  The hottub smelled like a bakery!  Sunday, it was time to say goodbye to our remaining friends.  I didn’t want to do it but I knew I had to.  I just told myself it isn’t goodbye, it’s see ya later!

I have to admit I experienced a few moments when I wondered if I really wanted to go back this year.  But this trip was so much better than I could ever imagine, I’m glad I ignored those doubts.  Hedo truly felt like home to me during this second visit and I honestly can’t wait to get back.  There’s been a lot of “talk” on the WWW message board recently about how bad the facility is, and although we had a fabulous time, I know the place isn’t the reason any of us go.  It’s the people.  We would be WWW no matter where we are.

It’s impossible to say thank you to everyone,  but there are a few people I want to thank personally.  First and foremost, Mr. Pasternak.  You are one of the best people on earth.  We all know, or at least I hope everyone realizes, how much of yourself you give so that all of us can have funfilled days and nights.  We love you, man!  We cannot thank you enough.  Lady Di, you’re a sweetheart and my hero .  I’m so grateful to count you as a friend.  Nina and Dave, you two are so awesome.  We gotta get together more than just once a year!  LeeAnn and Gary, we’re so glad we got to know you face to face after so much chatting online.  We totally look forward to see you guys next year.  Shaun and Sherry, our west coast pals, the trip wouldn’t have been complete without you.  Travis and Lisa, what can we say.  You both made a very important event in our lives more wonderful than we imagined possible.  And our old and new friends:  Keith & Lisa and Duane & Rhonda (our bathing suit pals), Mike & Becky (loved the dolphin and froggie), Bob & Anni and Chris & Sherry(what are we celebrating now?), Jeff & Kim (when are you two going to get off the beach?), Al & Jenny (can we get you to take requests at Veronica’s next year, Al?), Rob & Damian (thanks again for the pix), Ro (the Impaler) & Beth (good thing you’re a nurse), Bill (finally, met Rasta Bill!), Chip & Patty(another west coast couple. Glad you were there to show everyone we Left Coasters know how to party!), Don & Vicki (hey, get better, man!), Mike & Beth (are you sure you guys haven’t done this before?), Smiling (you’re always entertaining in my book, but loosen up a little, will ya?), Baron and Theresa (we truly enjoyed dinner with you two Saturday night. When are you coming up this way?), Steph & Boomer (it was so good to see you two again), Chip N Dip (Sprinkler Girl, we love ya!), Jon & Cheryl (hope that tumor hasn’t returned, Jon), Jim & Celeste (V), Ken & Rebecca (how about a little professional courtesy next time Mark’s getting some hot tub action, Ken.  lol)  Thank you all!  See ya WWWSummer 2001!

P.S.  Chris and Shelli... if you two read this... You gotta be there!!!
