Jim & Shirley - 07/99 (Wet, Wild, and Wicked)

July 10th-17th, 1999

This was our 2nd trip to Hedo. Last year after surfing the net to find a destination in Jamaica, we came across this site. We knew it was going to be a great trip after we began contacting others that were going to be there during the same week. Friendships soon developed & that was the beginning of the WWW group. This year we were pleased to have many more added to our group. The more, the merrier is really true!

SAT-After about 2 hours of sleep, we drove to our 5:15 flight from Memphis to Atlanta. Then it was on to MoBay. Soon as we arrived we saw several WWW folks. We enjoyed the company of John & Ellen on our hop to Negril. After arriving we discovered 1 of our bags had been left behind. I just knew it was lost forever! They said they would send it on the next flight & deliver it to the hotel. I figured by this time they already had our cameras sold to someone & I would not have any of my medicine for the week (yes, that was in the bag) but to my surprise, it did show up with all the contents intact! Poor Jim stayed at the front desk trying to get our room, you know, come soon Mon. In the mean time John, Ellen & I put our bags in Denny’s & Diane’s room (thanks guys) & then we hit the pool. Soon I had my drink in hand & I knew I was finally home!! It was so-o-o good to see friends from last year & fun to meet the new folks. Many of them we felt we already knew thanks to the message board & chat room. Then it was time for the body painting. Well Mother nature didn’t like our painting so it started raining & everyone hit the hot tub. Soon the wind started blowing so hard they ran us out. The party moved to Denny’s room. We had to get tattooed. My design looked so good on all you beautiful body parts!! I felt real pride in my work! LOL !! We had dinner with friends at Pastafari’s & hit the hot tub. Boy was it a long day!

SUN-We had some really good omelets for breakfast. I enjoyed snorkeling off the beach. Sand gravity took control of us for awhile & then we hung out by the pool. I tried to figure out which drink I liked best at Delroys. It’s a hard job but someone has to do it! We went to Veronica’s & fed the slots awhile. Then Gum & Di tried to teach me a game in the game room. It was hard to play because we were constantly watching all kinds of interesting body parts being pressed up against the windows! What a show! We enjoyed the sing-a-long & then hit the hot tub.

MON-Where’s the sunshine? Yea, it was a rainy day today. We had the wet tee-shirt contest today. They should have given me lots of hedo bucks for being the oldest! I had fun even if the competition was "stacked" against me! I think Denny really enjoyed himself since he was picked several times to participate. Hey, what’s this Anita, you picked Sharon instead of a guy from the audience, too funny! I didn’t like finding out that there were professional photographers making pictures of us during the contest. Can we say lawsuit girls?!? After the excitement of the contest (no I didn’t win) we took a walk down the beach & then had a much needed nap. We were off to the dining room & then Veronicas for karaoke. We checked out the disco & hit the hot tub.

TUES-Hello sunshine! We had breakfast; I was hooked on the omelets. We did a little shopping & then sand gravity hit. We jumped in the hot tub during an afternoon shower. Soon Shaka showed up with bingo cards & I won a bottle of coconut rum. It was Jessica’s birthday & she got a few gifts at dinner. They played battle of the sexes & it was so funny. Go Roger!! It was time for pj night in the disco. For us it was too loud & too crowded. They really need to have it in the dining room for more space & better bar service. Lots of folks in our group were winners. Congratulations on your costumes or lack there of (Jim & Celeste).

WED-We had breakfast & did a little more shopping. I went snorkeling off the beach & saw a huge sting ray. I never have my under water camera when I need it! It came another shower today. We had a little get together for Denny in the hot tub. We showered him with many funny gifts & our appreciation for all the hard work that he does on this web site. (We love you Denny) Then we headed out on the WWW catamaran cruise. A few brave soles jumped off the cliffs at the Pickled Parrot. I’ll never forget the look on Stephanie’s face when she popped up out of the water. You go girl!! Hey can’t a girl go to the bathroom without an audience?!? Watch out for the bathroom air-vent on the catamaran. You never know who might be moaning or singing to you! I bet the people who went to Rick’s Caf to see the sunset, got a kick out of seeing about 20 moons rise! LOL !! I bet we gave them something to talk about when they went home! I don’t think I have ever saw so many camera flashes going off in my life. I think I need an agent or maybe a lawyer after that trip. It was really fun (the rum punch made me do all those things!) After eating in the dining room, we went to Veronicas. Anita, what were you doing on the piano stool?!? That poor guy couldn’t even find the piano keys! He was enjoying it as much as you were! LOL Then it was hot tub time.

THURS-We had breakfast & I snorkeled off the beach. There was lots of sunshine today. We had to practice for the talent show. With all the loud music & noise, some people thought there was an orgy going on in the room in which we were practicing. Jim went to check it out & knew it was the sluts practicing when he saw Sharon dance by the window wearing her hard hat. He didn’t tell anyone about our act, so they still think they were hearing an orgy. We enjoyed watching the beer drinking (thumper) contest. I never saw so many wasted WWW people at one time! Maybe someone will explain to Shelli how she got some of those bruises! The cool pool saw a lot of excitement when several thought the fountain might be fun to sit on. Watch out, because someone turned it on full blast one day & it shot up higher than the 2nd floor. That could hurt! We got ready for toga night. There were lots of interesting looking togas this year. We didn’t get to see much of the toga party because we were the last act in the talent show & were back stage most of the night sweating from heat & nerves (& alcohol). I think our wwwvillagesluts.com act was a real winner. It was fun even if it wasn’t perfect. Jessica (cowboy), Kathy (biker), Chris (policeman), Sharon (construction worker), Keri (Indian) & myself (military) tried our best to lip sync lines from 2 Village People songs, macho man & YMCA. I wonder if we can top that act next year? I bet Jessica will think of something! Sharon, what kind of tools did you have in Jim’s tool belt? He’ll never think of it in the same way! We then hit the hot tub & off to bed.

FRI-We had breakfast & sand gravity hit. I snorkeled & saw another sting ray, a huge yellow starfish, several smaller red starfish & lot of other varieties of smaller fish. We had an afternoon nap & enjoyed the circus show in the dining room. They invited Steven (the guy who juggled in the talent show) to do a fire act with them. He was nervous about doing it on the inside but he did great. Hats off to the 2 guys who preformed with the pros on the high wires. I would never have the nerve to do that. The beach party was fun to watch. I heard a lot of them say that they tore up their feet on the sand that night so be careful if you participate. Then it was hot tub time.

SAT-Oh no, back to reality today! I had to get up early to get our bags out. We ate & then checked in with Air Jamaica & checked out of the hotel. We hit the pool for the last time & the last game of water ball! It started raining as we were leaving or was that me crying?!? We caught a hop back to MoBay & did a little shopping. We boarded the plane & had an hour delay because someone backed out of flying at the last minute & they had to unload the luggage to find their bags. Finally in the air & as we were about to get off in Atlanta they called some guy’s name & the cops were waiting for him. Can we say "drugs" boys & girls? Then after a luggage shuffle in Atlanta because the Delta employees left early (our flight was 1 hour late), we were finally back in the air to Memphis. The car was still in the parking lot (you never know), so after 1 hour drive we were home. Our 2 dogs, cat & parrot were glad to see us.

WWW famous quotes:

"I can’t believe I’m drinking before lunch"

"Today’s my birthday, want to help me celebrate?"

"I need another drink before I can do that!"

"Did you see what happened in the hot tub last night?"

"Just one more drink & I’ll quit for the day"

"Diving makes me air-headed!"

"I’m not going to drink anything today."

"This fan is making me dizzy!"

"I’m going to have to join AA after this week"

"I’d never do this at home!"

"My boob fell out of my dress while we were dining in Pastafari’s & I was so embarrassed but I was proud because that has never happened before!"

"I’m really a shy person"

"A rainy day at hedo is better than a sunny day at home"

Bad things happen at good places:

A man had a heart attack while out skiing & later died.

A guy got left out in the ocean after a dive (they did go back & pick him up)

Sea Urchins did a number on some folks

Lots of scrapes, cuts & bruises

We had $50.00 took from the safe & a necklace taken from the room

Several suffered sunburn

Overall view: Fellow visitors are what make the place. Take advantage of Denny’s visitor’s list & contact fellow travelers. Get to know them a little before you meet & you’ll be surprised what a difference it can make. The rooms are fine. Keep the bathroom door shut as much as possible because of the huge outside vent. This will keep your room cooler. The staff members are very helpful & friendly. Marc & Shaka keep the place alive. The food is good. I’m a vegetarian & had no problem finding plenty. Jim enjoyed the jerk fish & chicken. Check-in is still a pain so if you have to wait just find a place to stash your bags & go back later. They really need a holding room for luggage! Security was not as good this year as it was last year. They had a lot of very young boys working at odd jobs that were really hounding all the women & this made several of us girls uncomfortable. The security people were sleeping much of the time or busy being sex police. I don’t know if you guys remember the older couple that was there during the week, but they were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. I hope Jim & I can do that some day. Hedo is not about age; it’s about attitude! Many thanks to our friends from last year & our new friends from this year for making it a very special week for us. Hope to see you all at home soon!
