Jim & Charles - December, 2006

We have just returned from a week at Hidden Beach -- our fifth visit -- and even though it rained a lot, we still had a marvelous time this month (Dec 2006).
For the first time, we had a swim up suite and were spoiled in every aspect -- nice to get up, take a dip in the pool while the coffee is brewing; nice to get up and take a walk on the beach without having to go up/down stairs; nice to be able to get things from one's room without effort, etc.  We have stayed on the third floor which I would recommend against for those with leg, knee and/or back problems.  The second floor suites offer awesome views but the swim up suites are the spoilers.
Did we let the rain bother us?  Nope  :-)  Many of us simply went to the hot tub, had drinks, laughed and talked while enjoying the rain.  I think the rain was a benefit in that many of us were able to be together instead of going separate ways which usually happens in nice weather.
Charles and I went to Tulum -- awesome -- and about 30 minutes from the resort.  To stand on the site, read the materials and let your mind wonder, it was very easy to visualize what when on there many years ago.  This is the only settlement which is on the coast.  The temple at the top gives way to breathtaking views of the ocean along with the pristine white sand which beckons you to swim -- we did.
The Wednesday Nude Cruise is not to be missed.  You can snorkel, lay around and get a tan, get a soft sand rub which leaves your skin baby soft, eat, shop, drink and enjoy the weather.  We would recommend this to everyone.
The food has improved along with more varieties on the menu.  During one meal, we had Flaming Mexican Coffee served to us and this is spectacular to watch the preparations.  It is a nice special treat.
The staff of Hidden Beach is so nice from the moment you check in until that departure moment arrives.    Everyone makes you feel that  you are the most important person in the world.  You are catered to 24 hours a day providing you the avenue for pure relaxation.
It is a very special place....which should be obvious to you since this recent visit was our 5th time at Hidden Beach.  If all the cards fall into place, we will be back next year.
