Trip report from Hidden Beach 4/19/06 to 4/26/06

Just wanted to give a quick trip report for Hidden Beach as there aren't many for '06

Airports are airports, we got in quick and no one was going there when we arrived so we got a taxi all to ourselves arraigned be FunJet.  Stopped for beer and we were off.

Check in was a breeze, the room wasn't ready but after removing some much needed clothing we were seated for lunch and shortly we were off to the room. Rooms were great, the cleaning staff was great all in all that whole part of the place was as close to perfect as you would want considering that 6 months ago there was as much damage as there was.  If you go ask to see the pictures. Looking at the grounds there wasn't any hint of a major hurricane,  the new pool wasn't clost to being open and the small workout room was not yet open.

Pool and hot tub were fine, although there were some issues with the temp. in the hot tub which was not that big of a deal but when  the sun was done and that was the spot it needed to be right.  As everyone has stated if you are going to be in the ocean it is a tough call. You need to be prepared with the proper foot ware, but there were people fishing and playing in the surf.  The beach area chairs, palapa's were the best, we are beach people and that was the spot to be until the sun went down.

The only issue we had was with the food.  I don't know if it was an off week or what, I also asked a few questions and was told there were new managers ect, but is was not a 5 star food wise by any stretch in the imagination.  Also there were allot on guests and staff that were ill. We met many great people and it seemed that everyone was taking turns at being ill.  My wife packs allot of the travel medicines, Pepto, Mylanta. and all the make you feel better stuff and we were like the local drug store.  I am glad she had if for the people we met as the resort ran out at the way over priced gift shop.

Now for the good, The staff was great, it was our first time there so we never met the people that worked there before but you can't beat the people working there now. It is a small place so the nightly fun is what you make it, but attend it and pack something special for Lingerie  night if was probably the most fun, but is also hard to beat the England guy singing "Mack the Knife" with glowing party favor around his special part.

Would we go back? yes but I would not go Wednesday to Wednesday as the only thing I wanted to do was the nude cruise and it is only on Wednesday. WE would also ask about the food it is way to much money to be sick. Again it is a really great nudist resort and all vacations are what you make out of them, it isn't Hedo and if that is what you are looking for you might not want to go there.
