To people who have already experienced Pearl, the experience remains very much the same…wonderful in every way. For those thinking of going or booked for the first time, expect a delightful experience which you will likely want to enjoy many times. Some helpful things to consider with COVID affecting our lives:
Flying is not so much fun now. Wearing masks for 6 hours each way was not pleasant for us…but once at Pearl even your face can be naked everywhere at all times!!! Some airport tips: Google “Mexican Immigration” before you leave home. Do everything suggested there to make your passage through Cancun airport smooth as possible. Do the same at Pearl before you leave. A negative test for COVID is required to return to the US. Pearl provides the test up to 3 days before you leave. You will get an appointment at checkin. Cost is $20/pp if you book after a certain day (Denny knows the date), free if you booked earlier. There is also a $10/pp exit tax charged at airport. We were not charged but it might work like the COVID fee…not charged depending on booking date. In short, being prepared ahead of time saves a hassle at the airport.
Other than the airport stuff, the experience for us was little changed with a DESIRE to return again.
