Hedonism II Trip Report - Chris & Liz: September, 2018

Chris & Liz: September, 2018

Our 40th visit to H2 this Sept. The past couple of visits have been less than stellar, due to the ongoing construction to refresh the OVN rooms & prude pool/bar. This most recent trip was fine... good service as always, nice room, decent food, and friendly staff, but a few things were a bit lacking.

Construction to upgrade the rooms has been lingering for over a year. The upgraded rooms are great, but it's time to finish the job. The new bathrooms are superb - I can't imagine any better update, given the existing footprint. Food: Food was good overall. The veggies in the buffet were cooked perfectly day after day. Amazingly good consistency IMO. The main dishes were fine, but a bit lackluster, compared to some of the more creative stuff in past years. The buffet was closed for dinner (again) for a few days, due to low occupancy. This was a concern for me last visit as well, since I really like picking and choosing stuff at the buffet, and we enjoy a leisurely dinner and many of the shows.

One nite, the fire alarms in h-block sounded 4 times from about 2am to 5am. Probably not the resort's fault, but something that happens occasionally with a clientele that's up until the wee hours. It sure detracted from a restful night. :)

The staff were great as always Guest services are superb - responsive and customer-focused. Facilities and grounds are very nice. Entertainment was top notch, with 1-2 new routines vs. earlier this year. Watersports, bar & dining room staff were all excellent. It's a shame that Tista has moved on, but I'm sure he'll do well in the USA. We had a great chat with Garfield over breakfast - it was cool to hear his perspectives.

Overall, an enjoyable visit. Nice updates and great staff, with a few minor things that could be improved - and likely will be in the future.
