Jamey & Brandi - August, 2015

This was our first time to Hedo II, we had been to Hedo III several times before they closed.

We arrived  at MBJ at 11:00, was met at the gate by Club Mobay, took about 30 minutes to get from the plane to the club Mobay lounge that is including picking up our bags.  Was at the lounge about 10 minutes before getting on the shuttle.  The trip from the airport to the resort took 2 ½ hours, traffic was like driving through downtown Philly at rush hour.  Will never go back without doing Club Mobay, worth every penny paid.  Leaving was just as easy and the departure lounge was just as nice.

Lobby was under renovation.  Check in was as fast as it could be with it now being in in what appears to be  the size of a walk in closet and there was 4 couples checking in at the same time.  We had decided before we got there that we were going to try to upgrade our room and when we asked they upgraded us free of charge.  Room was not ready, so we went to eat in the main dining room.  Took about 30 minutes for the room but it took about hour and half to get our bags.

The room was fine, I had read other reports that the rooms were old and in need of upgrading.  Air conditioning worked great and we had hot water on all days except 1.

We stayed 10 days, Monday-Thursday.  Occupancy was low, there was 2 groups there our first week and none the second.  The EC’s were awesome, but we like to participate in the games they play.  We spent 95% of our time there at the nude pool.  It was great, the best part about the trip.  The bartenders were great and attentive and grill was good.  The attendants made sure everything was clean and towels stocked.  The hot tub was very hot, a lot of us asked them to turn it down a few degrees, but it was still enjoyable.

The food was ok at the buffet and eating in the sand was unpleasant, the nude grill pizza was awesome as was Pastafarri.  We were able to eat the first night at Harry Sans which was great as well.

The water slide closed our 3rd day there, we were told we could get in the pool to was off the foam after the foam party, however the pool was full of debris from construction and I guess nobody realized it, we had our flip flops on but other people did not and their feet was full of concrete and whatever else was in there.

Our biggest complaint was the fact that since the main dining room was closed they set up a tent on the beach for the stage and buffet.  There was a lot of mosquitos and sand fleas, so we paid $25 for a can of Off in the boutique, but I still came home looking like I had the measles.  The same was true for the playroom, lots of mosquitos.

We were really disappointed in the surprise renovations, a heads us would have been nice.  In the repeater party Harry said they didn’t know till the last minute in July that they were going to pull the plug on it. Harry did say that the current construction will be the single largest renovation project that will happen. They did try to compensate for the inconvenience with the room up grade, the free cruises and we received a 2 night stay good for August or September 2016.  Our concern about that is that is once again the slow season so what renovations will they be doing then, there was rumors that it will be the nude pool, however that is just a rumor that was going around.

There were good and bad aspects however over all we enjoyed our stay and had fun.   We did a couple of off resort activities and the couples massage.  August 10-20 2015
