We've been to H2 18 times now, and this was as good a trip as any. The
flight down was nearly flawless, flights on time and quick connections
got us to MBJ as well as could be expected. The trip thru immigration
and customs was probably the fastest ever, (must not be many people fly
on sunday mornings?) The welcome room at the airport is still open,
(yes, the sign still has Hedonism written on it). A quick trip to the
restroom and next thing you know, the bus Denny set up for us is ready
to go. Very little traffic, and one quick stop for a drink, and we pull
up to the front. Turns out we got the first floor H block room just like
we requested, (I think when you book thru Denny you have some "pull").
Slap on some sun block and boom, it's warm and sunny with drinks in hand
and jerk chicken on the plate. Had a hard time getting to eat it while
hugging and kissing good friends we have met over the years, but that's
just one of the things that makes this place great. School girl night
was a good way to kick off the week! Wish i could remember more details,
but sometimes memory gets a bit hazy what with the open bar and all. Did
they get new mattresses? Seemed to be a better one than in the past.
Next day, more of the same, maybe a bit wilder, but tht's a good thing.
Dinner at Munisan was good, too bad they got cheap with the salad. Music
and dance around the pool was well attended and fun even for a
non-dancer like me. Sad to see there was no ackee for breakfast, and no
more Charlie to cook eggs. As he day got hotter, so did the mood in the
pool. Just when you think you have seen it all, someone does something
that makes you think you are in an alternate dimension. No sense in
saying what we saw, because you would just think I was lying. You had to
be there, and if you were, you know what I am talking about. Good times!
Halloween night was filled with great costumes and energy. The AC must
have been fixed in the disco, and it was busy that night like back in
the day. For the first time we actually took a walk down the beach past
the funeral home known as Sandals. Looks like a nice place, but the
guests all looked bored with noses stuck in books. To each his own I
guess. Some more good news that day, the Miss Hedo contest /pagent was
held during the day instead of torturing everyone with it at night. The
same sort of relief as the art show being gone. Dinner at Martinos was a
pleasant surprise, the lamb chops were quite good, went back again for
more the next day. Found out by accident there was a secret party going
on behind closed doors, sounded awesome, turns out it's by invitation
only, guess who wasn't invited. Typical. But on the plus side, plenty of
hot water and pressure every day in the shower. Yay! A new and
troublesome developemnt on the beach: guys with guitars singing on the
beach for tips. Ugh. But there was a guy that was selling lobsters and
crabs the size of beach balls. I should really try to remember to bring
money to the beach. The Bubbly Bares were in the house, they weren't as
obtrusive as some times in the past, but they did throw a nice champagne
party for any and all. Then suddenly, before you know what hit
you, it's friday, gotta dial it down for the trip home in the morning,
hate to fly hung over. So thanks to all who touched our hearts, (and
other things!), made us laugh, and make us wish we could do this more
often. thanks also to the wonderful people who work there who remember
us despite the thousands of faces they see over the course of a year.
