Trip report for Hedo II Virgins!

Well we made the plunge and booked our Hedo vacation after reading trip reports here and wanted to fill in some of the gaps others may of missed that a Hedo virgin would like to know. We did not book with any of the group's that go to Hedo every year. That may be a better option for some as they have group activities that may help with any awkward feelings virgins may have ( better for the older people, but there is some younger groups too)

I won't bother with the airport and shuttle details as they have been done many times before.

We arrive in paradise at about 3:00 pm, the Hedo reception is very welcoming with a  cool drink waiting for us as we get are room key #2238 ( I think the best building to be in). A map with a a X for our room would have been nice but we are not given any direction at all but because of all are study before hand we had a good idea of the location and went to it fairly easy. Just remember nude rooms are to the right and prude rooms to the left.

The room is as described by all the others " You have just entered a time warp and have been whisked back to 70's so get your groovy on".  But it is just a place to rest so don't sweat it !

Now the hard part, Do we get naked right away or wait till we get to the beach? Well I'm all for getting naked right away but my better half wants to wait....O well.... She slips into a bikini and shorts, I still have the shorts on we arrived in and away we go. We take the path towards the nude pool and don't get far before we see naked people ( like fifty feet ), good enough for me I strip the shorts off and let the breeze cool me off a bit.

We take a small path between the buildings heading to the ocean and spot the nude bar on our right, now I'm feeling good about getting naked (everyone else is) but she is feeling out of place so we head to a couple loungers on the beach and I drop the shorts off and head to get a coupe drinks. ( liquid  courage for her) When I head back to the loungers she has walked to the end of the point and is looking a bit overwhelmed (still has clothes on) What's I guy to do but ignore it and act like being naked is a everyday thing but thank goodness no one is given her a hard time!

It take's a bit but she goes for it after ten minutes and drops the suit and we take some time to coat the body in sunscreen and head to the pool for a dip and a fresh drink. Most everyone is friendly with a nod or "Hello" and after a few drinks she has forgot about the hard start  and is enjoying herself.

I can't stress this enough if your on the nude side " Get naked right  away" and avoid the awkward "I'm the only person with cloths on feel" I will admit its a bit of a weird feeling going from your room naked when heading to the pool but one that fade's fast.

After a few days we find the pattern or flow of the place..

Up about 10am we would head for breakfast at the buffet then down to the beach for sun on a lounger, lunch at the nude grill and drinks start to be served around noon. Then we go back and forth from the sun on the loungers to a dip in the cool pool and fresh drinks at the swim up bar for the rest of the afternoon.

Have a nap your going to need to if you want to stay up late for all the true Hedo fun1

While you can go up to the buffet restaurant for supper about 5:00 most don't show up till around 7:30 / 8:30 ( after nap time). Some come dressed in the nights theme wear ( you will get the list when you check in ) and others wait till they have eaten then go and change. Both work or don't  dress up at all its your vacation do what you want.

Around 8:30 the shows start, great fun with a very talented group of people "shout out to Winston a very talented man". Show ends around 10:00/10:30 and people head to the piano bar or for a walk. The disco gets rolling after midnight and keeps you fired up until your ready to jump into the hot tub.

The hot tub is being treated until around 10:00 but the chorine mist will burn your eyes for a bit longer so stay away until about 11:00. There can be a few to a lot of people in the hot tub until the early hours depending on the groups on site. There is not much you won't see in and around the pool if you make it to the wee hours!

The staff are very friendly and work harder then any other place we have stayed at , the food was great LOVED the pasta bar! This was easily the best food we have ever had in a Caribbean resort bar none!

Now the only complaint I have is someone decide they needed my spare Maui Jim sunglass more then me and removed them from our room. I should have known better and put them in the safe but the place was feeling like home and thats just the way it goes sometimes! I knew from other reports that theft can and has happened here before and should have taken better care. My own fault and a expensive lesson learned.
