Walt - October, 2011 (walt22)

Oct 26 to Nov 4  19th trip.

Please excuse the style of the report.

Travel: Booked AJ. Got Sun Country Air via Carribean Air. No problems at all either way. Arrive first in MoBay at 8:30 AM. First thru customs and got the first bus. No problems. No stop on the way to Hedo. Room wasn't ready but I ate breakfast and then got the room. Nude H-block.

Single -share room with a roommate who was quiet but neat.

Food: I liked it. Breakfast: no bacon first two days but plenty after I mentioned this to Joseph, the evecutive chef. Charlie wasn't at the egg station all week but the eggs tasted the same anyway. Toaster seemed hotter this week. Ham was great. Lunch; only ate tuna salad at the dining romm. Can't talk about other food available. Fish and fries and grilled cheese was very good as usual at the nude beach grill. Dinner: had two lobster nights Anniversary party as well as Friday night gala. Was excellent. Other nights were better than normal as well. Might be because of Anniversary week.

Entertainment: I like Roots Explosion alot. I'm a professional musician and I appreciate the adaptability to all styles of music and the adustments they make while playing for the various entertainers on stage. Denton does a great job as director. They definately were not loud at dinner. The ECs provided most of the singing and dancing. The current group is much more talented than those in the past and they held the audience throughout the week. That said, with the excption of Winston and Little Leon, the personal relationship to the guests seemed lacking when compared to other years. The outside entertainment for anniversary night was very good. The guests provided a lot of entertainment on Halloween. The repeaters party was good (sure miss the cold lobster we used to get many years ago) except the steel drum band had a drummer who thought every song was his drum solo. That was irritating. 23 visits got the 5- day Hedo reward.

Hedo was very generous at giving away free days for skits and costumes at HALOWEEN.

Weather: 87 was the high every day. It rained for about an hour on the first 3 days After that no rain. No problem here.

PDAs: Hardly any during the day. Didn't go to the Hot tub at night so I can't comment. Older crowd with a lot of repeaters I guess is the reason.

Games on the nude side: One day of trivia, bocce ball every day, ring toss on a couple of days. That's it that I saw.

Agusta was ther but was very quiet.

Delroy seemed in good spirits the whole week. Scumba was at the dining room bar. He was not at the nude bar.

Rooms: Not attended to every day with regard to linen and towels. Plenty of hot water and pressure though.

Water slide: Was used quite frequently and in good order especially at night.

Disco: Better music this time and was hit or miss in attendance.

Piano Bar. Dion is a special talent. It was packed every night with both guests and ECs singing. Good time all week. At the after party in the courtyard after the annivrsary show Dion and two other musicians played unbelievably great and were joined by the ECs and outside talent for a fantastic party for those few guests that were there. It was easily the best entertainment of the week. Unfortunately it didn't start until 12:30  AM

Bubbly Bares: We in the house and provided a a nice champagne party on the beach with a house D.J. They had a few other events but were generally quieter than usual. There were other groups there but no events were obvious.

Overall:  had a great time with my group of friends as usual but felt the party atmosphere was rather sedate the whole week. I normally go at Valentines week when the place is jumping. No pajama party and not toga sorta bummed me out.

Altough it was said the resort was sold out, it sure didn't seem like it. Plenty of seats available in the dining room.

I'll, of course go back, but probably in February.

Thanks to Denny who set up the trip for me.
