Wha Gwan Folks? I finally got around
to emailing this report to Denny. First off, let me say
that this was one of our best trips ever, probably top five.
As always, we met some wonderful new friends and enjoyed the
companionship of our vet buddies. The Staff was wonderful,
always attentive, eager to please and very professional.
But they're really not "staff" to us...haven't been since our
second or third trip. This was our 26th.
We stayed in Negril at Travellers on NYE, with high hopes of
hitting the Stone Love Reggae party. We decided to nap at
8:30 PM for one hour, but didn't wake up until the morning.
That's ok...more energy for Hedo.
I won't bore you with check-in and such things. Suffice it
to say that Beverly is as wonderful as always, and makes things
happen quickly.
Hit the bar to say our hellos to Gracie and catch up on how she
was doing. She is such a wonderful friendly lady with a
very kind heart. We then headed down to the nude pool and
"set up" operations for the week. At the beach we chatted
up Alicia, she is as pretty as ever with a smile that lights up
the beach even during the sunny days.
Our long time Hedo pals Pam and Paul showed up shortly after,
and the party was officially on.
Highlights: Once again the staff, Alicia, Anna, Gracie,
Stephanie, Paulette, Michelle Dove, Serena (wonderful addition),
Sheldon, Jamoy, Scumba, Karl, Augustus, Noel, Winfred,
Charmaine, Desmond...and so many many more. The food was
good, with a nice variety of main entrees. I always love
the soup...I eat more soup at Hedo than I do here is this cold
Michigan weather...go figure. I was disappointed with the
salad bar, not so much there. The variety was not up to
par in that regard.
The house was filled with so many wonderful folks...a great
showing of Canadians, Russians and Europeans. All very
friendly. This was the first time in 6 trips that I did
not come as the visiting trainer and it was nice just to kick
back and enjoy the entire day.
Big Jim, was the trainer during the first week, and did a
fantastic job with the pool aerobics. I used to just sit
on the cooling pool ledge and watch all the pretty ladies frolic
about doing their exercises. But this year, I joined right
in and only missed one day. We had a blast doing the
aerobics and it is a great way to get the blood flowing and burn
some calories. Jim kept it going and it isn't as easy as
many think. The girls kept asking Jim to get naked, but he
was very professional...and they were very disappointed:-)
During the week we split our lunches between the beach and the
dining room. Both were very good. Dinner time
is always our favorite time, when the place really shines, with
all the beautiful ladies dressed to the nines. I for one
always appreciate the efforts the gals go through...doing the
hair just right and hoping that it holds a curl in the
humidity...big ups ladies!! The piano bar was awesome and
we totally enjoyed ourselves every night. Our favorite
place the Disco, rocked every night. We love to dance, and
the DJ kept it hoping with dancehall and a good variety of
everything.
I'll close for now...this is the first trip report that I have
written in some time. Hope I didn't bore you too much.
Thanks again to the gang, Steve and Dale, Pam and Paul, Seyda
(we missed Mardo so much), a special French gentleman named
William, and to Kat and Ashley...guys we missed you at dinner
and couldn't give you our email....:-(
Till next time...peace, love and respect...every time!!
