Jacob & Jackie - February, 2011
my wife and i took a trip to H2 for a long weekend, around
presidents weekend.
the flight was good, the airport was better than we thought. we
were asked to come into the H2 lounge, grab a cold water and
wait for the next shuttle. about 15 minutes later we loaded up
and hit the road.
me and my wife are 35 and 36 years old. we noticed right away,
there was a age difference in the bus load of people. not a big
deal, but you just feel a little more comfortable with your own
age group. but i knew we could over come that. we came with no
expectations, just a thirst for something different and open.
the bus trip was longer then i thought. dropped one couple off
at another resort. no bar stop. we were asked but no body wanted
to stop, neither did we.
pulling up to H2 our nerves started a little. what are we
walking into? it took forever to check in the 5 couples from our
bus. we finally got our key. now we wandered around trying to
find our room. we stayed prude side, beach front. the room was
clean, cool and a lot better then what i have read on some
forums.
we hung out in the room for a few, unpacked a little. then
grabbed the beach towels and headed out. we walked right down to
the nude beach, again, first timers here. walked down near
delroy's and found a couple chairs, rare for this late in the
day. looked around, saw we were the only ones with clothes on,
said "F it" and decided to "fit in". after the first 5 minutes,
we never felt strange without clothes on.
we never tried the "restaurants". every night we hit the buffet.
we like to try different foods all the time. i thought the food
was very good. not 5 star, but great for a buffet. the
entertainment was very good at dinner. Winston does a great job.
Patrick from the waitstaff went out of his way to talk to the
"young couple". one night the entertainment was bad at dinner.
we left early, like 70% of the dinner crowd. everyone was at the
piano bar. i never saw the YMCA done with no hands before. what
a great party in that place.
there was a large group there. we are not swingers, but were
welcomed with open arms to party with them. they took over the
upper pool area. DJ, large screens going. great party, great
people. never pressured into anything. never shunned because we
weren't in that group.
one thing we did notice was 80% of the guests would not talk to
us. i think the age difference was a big thing. we did eat with
different people every night. even met people from a few towns
over from where we live. but over all, it was just me and my
wife on vacation.
we did take a walk back to the hot tub a few nights. lots of
action going on, but a 30 year age gap kept us out of the water.
the trip was great, the resort was very nice. Food, bar tenders,
everyone that worked for H2 was great. we want to try and go
back every other year.
that is a good indicator of how much fun we had. we will be back
soon.
