We joined the "Fluffernutter" group to H2 for the first time, 4th trip
to resort. A group trip has its perks; resort sold out, revised
theme nights, pool parties & a special sunset cruise. The weather
was perfect all week mid 80's scattered clouds.
Immigration was horrible, note to self do not fly in or our of Sangster
on a Saturday, Crazy! We flew Tim air to the resort, or should I
say Gary actually flew. He sat in the co-pilot seat & I told the
pilot I bought Gary flying lessons & that he had 100's of hours on the
simulator. So the pilot let him fly the whole way to the resort,
buzz the beach but thankfully took over for landing. As he was
thanking Gary (which was smiling ear to ear) I told him how excited Gary
was its just like the hobby simulator he practices on & how he wants to
start those lessons ASAP...Pilot was a little shocked.
Daily we got up round 10:00, I went to the gym while Gary went to
breakfast. We met back in the room to get ready & go to the pool/beach
for the day. We drank, visited, played 'games' & made new friends.
Went to dinner nightly around 8:00 pm, enjoyed the nightly entertainment
- than off to piano bar or pool party (disco). We usually passed
out nightly round 2:00.
We walked the beach one day to buy the obligated tshirts, rum cream &
cigars. Its funny just 100 yard for H2 beach you are @ the
beautiful Sandals resort where everyone is packed on the lovely
beachside lounge chairs; reading books, on their laptops, napping or
just plain looking bored and No jello shots. I didn't see one
laptop @ our beach.
We dressed nightly in the theme nights, which was probably 75%
participated. We ate @ Martinos one night waited 2 hours than got
raw fish, thank God for the buffet. We enjoyed the buffet food &
the ice cream machine daily.
We paid a guy $30 for the totem pole caring (see pix), it turned out
pretty cool!
Unfortunately I got real sick on day 4. 102 fever, body aches &
cough the next day we went to nurses station cause I hadn't gotten any
better. They called a Dr to the resort which arrived around an
hour later. He checked me out for maybe 5 minutes & gave me 3
antibiotics for $200.00 cash. Between the gift shop cost cold
medicine & cough syrup - I will make sure to always pack this stuff in
the future. Foolish me only brought regular prescriptions, aspirin
& tums...I lost 3 whole days too sick to participate and barely made it
out of the room. My cold lasted almost 3 weeks!
The resort & the group was fantastic. We will definitely return to
be wicked for a week!
