Michael & Vita - June, 2010

Hedonism II Trip Report June 21-27, 2010 – Michael & Vita (Rookies)

I’ve wanted to visit Hedonism II since I first heard about it from a business acquaintance in 1985. However, life kept getting in the way (career/schedules, unwilling partners, kids, tight finances, etc.) , so it remained a dream until my current wife and the LAST great love of my life agreed that it was something we had to do! So, we made our inaugural trip to Jamaica and Hedo II June 21-27, 2010! It was everything I dreamed and much more! My wife, Vita, and I agree that it is the best vacation that either of us has ever had! Now for the details….

We flew Delta from Atlanta at 8:30AM on Monday, June 21 non-stop to MoBay, arriving about 10:30AM local time. I had envisioned MBJ as a small, compact airport – but man, was I wrong on the “compact” part at least! The walk from the arrival gate to immigration and customs was LONG and took forever! However, once we got to immigration, the process was quick and painless, and the immigration & customs officials were pleasant and efficient. Then on to the SuperClubs lounge where I immediately was greeted with the words I had dreamed of hearing for so long, “Welcome home!”. Much to our delight, there was a van ready to depart for Hedo II immediately and we were taken directly to it! Now the ride from MBJ to Hedo II was something that will defy explanation! To say it was a “nail-biter” doesn’t even come close to describing the sheer terror that we experienced at times on the route! But even this “thrill ride” was part of the adventure and all the passengers took it in good natured stride. The traditional “Red Stripe stop” was not offered nor requested during this trip and that was fine with us as we were anxious to get to Hedo.

Soon we arrived and got our first glimpse of the resort when we pulled up the front circular drive. On first impression, we were favorably impressed as we had read various trip reports complaining about how run down the facility had become. As we got off the bus, we were greeted warmly and enthusiastically by the bell staff with “welcome home!” and other kind words of welcome. At the check-in counter, I asked about moving our reservation to the nude side, since when I booked, I had opted for prude side gardenview to save  some money. I was told to go eat lunch and come back at 1:30 (about 1 ½ hours) and get the keys to my nude side oceanview upgrade at no additional charge! What a great start to the week! Needless to say, we were elated and went off to the dining room to happily enjoy our first meal at Hedo II!

Now again, we had seen various reviews of the food in trip reports that were less than flattering, but I’ll go on record right now and say that we found the food to be delicious, nicely varied, plentiful and always with selections available that were fairly healthy! We were so satisfied with the buffets during our visit that we never even got around to trying Munasan or Pastafari! The only other place we ate was to have lunch at the nude pool grill a couple of days!

Getting naked for the first time was surprisingly easy and comfortable! What made it easier was the diverse variety of body types and ages of our fellow Hedonists. The age range was from mid-twenties to well into the seventies and the body types ranged from rail thin to rotund. The common thread was that everyone was comfortable in their own skin, relaxed and non-judgmental. I’ve said this to many of our friends and family who’ve expressed curiosity – the hardest thing to do was putting our clothes back on when it was time to leave the resort to go home!

I won’t make this already long report even longer by detailing every day/night. Most of you reading this already are aware of the rhythm and routines at Hedonism II. I’ll just mention a few of the highlights and low-lights. First and foremost, the people we met - Hedo staff and fellow Hedonists alike -were amazing! Our fellow guests were relaxed, non-judgmental, friendly, generous with information, and fun! The Hedo staff bent over backwards to make sure we were having a good experience and treated us like family! The Jamaicans are so happy, polite and respectful – and it appears to be genuine!

Next, the facilities, while certainly not 5 star, were more than adequate for our enjoyment! Housekeeping kept our room clean and comfortable. The air conditioning in our room was more than adequate and the 3 porn channels on the TV were a novelty for me that I enjoyed all week (and provided a unique enhancement to our “private” moments)! The ONLY negatives I can even dig to come up with are that the hair dryer in our room only worked on the low setting (but it eventually got the job done) and the final night we were there, I had no hot water in the shower. I’ve got to say – if those were the two worst things that I had to endure – I’m loath to complain! The plethora of over the top positives during our stay wiped those tiny inconveniences off the radar!

We spent most of our days and evenings at the nude pool, either lounging on the chaises in the sun, in the pool bellied up to Delroy and Scumba’s bar, or in the hottub enjoying a little PDA.  And speaking of the bar – I quickly became addicted to the Dirty Bananas and that’s what I drank exclusively for the entire visit! At meals, I fell in love with the grilled fish, the jerk chicken, the Jamaican pineapple, the acai, the papaya, and the callaloo (spinach like vegetable). We even ate (and liked) goat meat for the very first time!

As first-timers, we were content to just stay on the resort and soak it all in for the entire week. We’re saving forays to Rick’s, Jenny’s and the Zip Line for future visits “home”.  During our week in paradise, the people from KinkEvents.com were onsite conducting “Caribbean Fetish Fest” with BDSM/fetish workshops, fashion shows, and evening performances. We didn’t take in any of the workshops, but found the after dinner fetish-wear fashion shows and performances to be very creative and entertaining! And speaking of entertaining – the Hedo EC’s are a very talented bunch! From various skits and competitions at the pool to nightly shows, the entertainment crew kept us thoroughly entertained all week!

While occupancy at the resort seemed a little low, that meant that we never had any trouble securing towels, floats, or loungers in the sun! The people that were there were a fun-loving bunch! We met intriguing people from every part of North America (US and Canada) from all walks of life – from still working just to make ends meet to retired and loving it. We exchanged contact information with several couples and individuals that we intend to stay in contact with and hope to see on future visits “home”!

We got up at 5:00AM Sunday morning to prepare to catch our 7:00AM shuttle back to the Montego Bay airport. Promptly at 6:00AM, resort security knocked on our door to retrieve our luggage to take to the main building for us (we barely had time for one final “PDA” session in paradise)! We were sad to leave and were already plotting our next visit “home” before we even left the property!

Our rookie trip to Hedo II was everything we imagined and hoped for – and more! Now, we’ve just got to figure out when we can go back!
