Alan & Jacqueline - November, 2010

November 20-27, 2010

This was a first trip for me to Hedonism II, having been to Hedo III and Desire Cancun previously, and a first trip for her to any of these resorts.

Our trip started with a serious hiccup when we arrived at Pearson airport in Toronto and were advised we had been placed on standby. Even though the tickets were booked a couple months previously the counter agent indicated that because we had not selected our seats in advance we had been moved to standby. After an anxious hour we were issued seats and on our way to Mo Bay.

We booked with Denny and had no problems there. He knows the resorts, follows the promotions and is helpful in making recommendations to save a buck without compromising the overall experience.

Arrival was smooth and we were soon on our way to  the resort where we were quickly checked in and our room was available. We grabbed a drink, stripped off and headed to the beach for our first look. The grounds are well kept and Agustus did an excellent job all week keeping the beach maintained and manicured. We met some great people and in particular Lisa and Bob and Brenda and Mike. We hung out a fair bit at the pool, for dinner, and around the bar.

There was a good crowd at the resort that week, it being American Thanksgiving, and the turkey prepared for the Thanksgiving feast was as good as you would expect in Canada or the US. The weather was perfect ranging from 28-31 all week, with a grand total of five minutes of rain all week.

We did the cave tour and some snorkelling and that was a nice outing but generally hung out at the resort all week. Who wouldn’t with the great weather and wonderful people.

The food was ok, not great, but lots of it and passable. Charlie did an excellent job with the morning omelettes, something we looked forward to. There was lots to drink and the bar service was great. The staff at Hedo really do a wonderful job in making the stay pleasant.

Overall the trip was good and she definitely wants to return and so do I. One of the bigger problems was the temperature in the hot tub. It appeared that there was a lot of overcompensating going on. One day it is too cold, the next too hot. I wouldn’t think it’s rocket science to regulate the temperature to a constant however it appears so. One day it was 110; a little too hot after being in the sun all day. Another, it was about 90.

Theme nights were great and we were lucky enough to win best costumes for fetish night. It was disappointing that more people didn’t dress for the themes. This had always been a highlight on my previous trips. Nonetheless we participated fully and enjoyed every minute of it. And, ladies dress your men please! We’re helpless creatures meant to accessorize you.

It was her birthday, as well as Brenda’s on the 24th and Fifty put on an exceptional performance for the ladies on stage. He used them and abused them and they left with their tongues wagging.

The spa was wonderful. We spent a few hours there mid week and the ladies are as good at their trade as any in North America. Highly recommended!

Given to the fact that most people said “we’re not here for the food” we might conclude that the food could improve a little in order to add to the overall experience. The piano bar was hopping…more piano and less karaoke please. The dicso was a regular stop before the late night hot tub however we were generally pretty spent by then, rising at 7:30 or so and as a result we usually packed it in before 1:00 AM.

The place is a little tired and hopefully following the closure of Hedo III occupancy will be up and they’ll plow some money back into the resort. We are hoping it’s around long term. Replacing the worn out beach chair floaties would be a good start. A phased upgrade of the rooms and repairing the abandoned bridge would all go a long way to improving the overall resort. We like the atmosphere and the patrons and staff are great.

If you haven’t guessed it we will of course be back.
