Ron & Lori - March, 2009

We boarded early in Mpls/St Paul Intl Airport on Saturday March 28th.  Our trip started by the plane needing to be deiced so that delayed us an hour.  Arrived in Mobay, went through customs, picked up luggage, got to Super Clubs counter and on our bus within an hour.  Traffic was absolutely nuts!  Never would I want to drive there, they drive so crazy and of course on the wrong side of the road.  Arrived at Hedo II’s gate about 2:45.  Check-in was very fast and we were upgraded, without asking, to an ocean view nude room (happened to be two doors down from our room last time, loved it!)  Sweet!

When we walked to the nude pool we immediately saw people we had met on our first trip.  On our way back to our room, caught my toe on the lip of the pool by the Grotto and broke it!  Way to start a vacation.  Thank goodness I did not have to put on a full shoe the whole week.  Throughout the week the weather was partly sunny to sunny, mid 80’s and only a small shower during dinner the second night we were there.  The pool water was somewhat cold, even though a lot of people were in it and was warmer with the sun on you, I choose to pretty much do the foot dangle…lol  It was breezy so the water was a bit choppy but the breeze kept us cool too during the day.

Food was always good – Charlie’s omlets in the morning and the pasta bar every night were a favorite.  Had to wait to get yours made to order but was always well worth the wait!  Of course Pastafari and Mustafan were very good as usual also.  The prude and nude grills were very good for lunches.  The grilled fish sandwiches were really yummy.

The staff was awesome, for the most part very helpful – except trying to get sheets for the Toga night was a struggle (right Gregg??)  Our room was always cleaned and fresh flowers in there daily.  EC’s were present all week with activities, if you did not want to participate they were not pushy.  Guest Services called us twice to make sure every”ting” was ok.

We walked along the beach one day to Margaritaville.  Excellent walk with a little rough turain that you had to go up away from the water.  Advised to be sure you have some sort of shoes with if you are going to walk the beach.  Could be rough on your feet.  The walk was beautiful and we had great company with Jeff and Bobbie/Steve and Linda.  Definitely worth taking a taxi back though – the margarita’s made my feet not work so good…lol  Another night we took a taxi to Rick’s Café to watch the sunset.  What an awesome view.  It was so much fun to share that experience with Gregg and Dare.  The taxi ride through Negril was another interesting experience.  Just a note, if you need a taxi, have Guest Services set that up for you.  Our driver took us there and waited, telling us to take our time and he would be there when we got finished.  He was and it was very relaxing.  Again, the traffic was crazy but am learning that is just normal.  All in all it was a very enjoyable and memorable experience.

The entertainment in the main dining room was awesome as usual – Mike – you and Winston were the hit of the week!!!  I have not laughed that hard in a very long time.  Thank you!!!!  The Disco was ok but loud and smoky so we only went there for PJ night.  The Piano Bar was entertaining and Dion does a great job and is always well attended.

All in all the trip could not have been more enjoyable with out the many old and new friends we made – Sally (AKA Paula Dean) your laugh is infectious – Tom love your stripes, Jeff and Bobbie, we always have fun and was great to be able to enjoy the trip with you two again!  Seeing Pharmacist Bob and Karla was such a nice surprise.  Steve and Linda (and Bobbie) – the massages were memorable, Mike and Maureen – you two are awesome, Howard and Michelle – you are two cool cats!  Gregg and Dare – so good to get to know you two even better.  Haven’t had a cigar since we have been home, they were so enjoyable.  Hopefully it will not be two years until we see each other again.  Suze and Angelo good to see you again, hoping Suze, you are feeling better.  It was an unfortunate trip for you two.  We have thought about you guys often hoping all is well.  If we missed anyone, I am so sorry but we enjoyed each and every person, well almost and those of you that were there know who I am talking about (skinny white ass boy) that we met, it was so much fun!

This report got to be long but as you can tell we had a wonderful time and can’t wait to go back soon!  Hope to see you all again sometime!
