Rick & April - August, 2009

We just returned from our 2nd trip to Hedo II- August 1-7.  This trip was to celebrate Rick's 50th birthday!  We had so much fun we didnt want to leave! We arrived at 11:50am on Delta from DFW/Atlanta. Within 30 minutes we were on a shuttle (small van) with another couple & a single gal. We 2 were the only ones Hedo bound. No Red Stripe stop & he dropped us off first. Our last H2 trip was in 1999 & of course they are STILL working on the road. It is much improved however. Check in was quick.  We were given a double  upgrade on our room from prude g/v to nude g/v- loved that! The room seemed smaller than Hedo 3. No tub but was very clean & the new electronic safe is an improvement over the keyed.  First let me say staff was wonderful. Entertainment Crew Rafael and Crystal quickly learned our names and said hello everytime they saw us. They also made sure that we were comfortable and always looked for us during game time--on the nude side, of course!  Augustus rocked! He took such good care of us and the beach! That man never stops working! He never let Rick walk by without taking whatever I was carrying and giving it to Rick, reminding him of his job, lol!  There seemed to be a steady supply of small boats offering most things for sale. For $20 we got 3 big fresh cooked lobsters & ate them on the beach!   We ate most meals in the main dining room and they were good but it was extremely hot! We ate dinner once at the Japanese restraunt and three times at Pastafari. Both were excellent. We had a lot of fun at the piano bar. We laughed till we cried in there! Deon and Michelle kept us well entertained!  We discoed a few times and had fun there as well. The evenings/wee hours of the a.m. were spent in the nude pool and hottub! We had a lot of fun and made a lot of new friends!  April even received a standing ovation for her handy work one evening in the hottub nude side.

We appreciated the pool bar staying open until 5 a.m.

We made a lot of new friends, that I am sure we will keep for many, many years/good times to come! We are all already coordinating our return trip!

Ok we gave you the good...here is the bad.

first day we arrived, nude pool restrooms were filthy all day and stunk so bad you couldnt hardly bear to even go near them! After that first day, no complaints with that restroom.

Our toilet in our room never seemed to work right and we had no cold water one whole day, which made showers or flushing impossible.

Rick is self employed and using the internet room was a must for us, Granted we could have lugged along the laptop, but thought using the public access would be acceptable. The little room where the computers are is like an oven. no fan and little ventilation, a ceiling fan would be a quick fix there! Management did announce WiFi is now up for $15 daily.  Always knew ganga was easy access in Jamaica. However, this trip first few times we just laughed off, but the number of people trying to hook us up constantly, quickly became annoying. Also seemed to be some working girls offering their services.

Rick tried getting change for a $20 (not for the girls!) several times from the front desk. That task was impossible. The waterslide had posted hours, but these were not always adhered to. Our new friends Brian & Nancy from Boston, Guy & Kat from NYC, & Greg & Liz from the North Pole  made the whole trip even better. Apparently all you have to do to get a free bottle of rum is dance naked on the nude bar, right Nancy?  There was plenty of PDAs to keep us happy since we`re swingers. No problems with the Sex Police we saw. There were a few clothed folks who liked to sit & watch the more adventurous people on the nude side. After a word to security from us they discreetly told them undress or leave. We only made it off resort once. A 5 minute walk left from the front gate is a small craft mall. We got Blue Mtn coffee & some hats/shirts. We won 4 bottles of rum playing the beach games. One broke in the suitcase so pack accordingly. Our departing flight was 2:17 pm & the front desk told us we`d need the 9am bus. We said no to that & they said "you can take the 10am bus but you'll need to sign a waiver" . Our checkout came & they had us on the 10am & nothing was said about a waiver.  We could have left at 11 & still had time to spare. While we did encounter a few minor problems, we had the time of our lives and made many good friends in the process. We will be back and look forward to it.....quickly!
