Hedo Trip 3/1 - 3/6

It has been a while since I have been to Hedo. The last time we didn’t seem to have that much fun and I was will somewhat skeptical of returning. I tried to write a trip report of the last trip but just couldn’t bring myself to it. This trip was four years after the last one.

We have never been there at this time of year, usually we go later in the year. We found the temperature to be cooler but less oppressive.

Well, on this trip a am happy to say that Hedo is back. There have been some noticeable improvements in the rooms. The biggest improvement is in the Piano Bar. Danny is a good entertainer as any Hedo has had on any of our trips. The main dining room looks like if has been recently painted.

The food is not the highest level but who goes to there to consume great meals? I don’t even get the concept. A good burger is at least as good as some pretentious four course meal. I never have grasped the virtue of a $70 meal. The nude beach grill has good burgers.

I actually like the towel policy. We recieved four tickets for towels. You can get a towel eighter by trading a ticket or another towel. It makes the guests more responsible and eliminates overnight reserving of seats. We had no problem with it.

The water was clear the first day. The next day was very rough with high winds. The catamaran trip was postponed. The water was very murky with all the debris blown in. The bottom was hard to see and I ended up standing on a piece of coral and cut my heal. The water did not clear for several days

Ar night the theme nights seem poorly attended. Only a few people were dressed in togas. On P.J. night, few people were there early. We didn’t like the music and left early..

Is Hedo a sex club? I saw very little evidence of that. There was some oral sex at the side of the tub. Some couples were joyously coupling under water at night but it didn’t seem to interfere with the social scene at all. Actually I thought it somewhat subdued without in your face sex although as noted, there was some sex visible. My wife who is very conservative found it in no way a turn off.

The rooms are bright and clean with air conditioners that work. I suspect they bought 60 Hz machines in the previous batch, which with air conditioners is not a good thing. Unlike many motor uses, a compressor is under load at start up so that the lower 50 HZ frequency probably led to a much shorter lifetime.

All in all we had a blast and I think we are back in the Hedo grove.
