Rudy & Tam - May, 2008
Trip Report by TamNRudy
Hedonism 2
May 9 – 18, 2008
A wonderful trip as usual.
This being our fourth trip to H2, we are getting the hang of
traveling to the resort.
We flew out of Ft Lauderdale on Friday, May 9th.
Flight was uneventful and we got to the Superclubs lounge in
MoBay before 12 PM.
Several couples were there already or arrived at the same time, so
we were hustled out to the waiting bus within 10 minutes.
We made a quick beer/potty stop. Were at the resort, assigned
room 2267, and Tony (love him and his hugs) had our bags to the room
within a few moments. We got to the nude beach by 1:30 PM.
Friends were already there and reunion was great.
They gave us the lowdown and gossip, we procured Hummingbirds
in our quart-sized mugs…and all was right with the world.
The days went by in one big happy blur of mornings lazing under the
big tree with books and MP3 players, afternoons yakking it up by the
pool, warming up in the hottub, and evenings watching the shows.
Here are a few of the highlights:
Food
Breakfast:
BACON and plenty of it!
Real lox for your bagels, though bagels were not a daily occurrence.
Made do with English muffins, croissants, or toast.
Lunch & Dinner:
Caesar salads yummy as always with real anchovies on the side, main
meals always included something good like suckling pig and lasagna.
Pastafari was great (try the tenderloin and crème brulee) and
Munasan (try a little of everything, they added fish this year to
the shrimp, chicken, and beef) was fun too.
Nude Beach Grill:
French fries crispy on the outside, order your grilled cheeses with
tomato and bacon...mmmmm. Jerk chicken was addicting. (Over 10 days,
I gained 6.5 lbs in bacon and hummingbirds…LOL.)
Room
Bed was a bit hard, but not unsleepable.
New AC worked well, just remember to aim the vents where you
wish and make sure they are open after the maid leaves.
Shower had great pressure and hot water all the time.
Only issues were that water leaked out of shower a bit, we
just mopped it up with old beach towels, and the sink needed to be
unclogged – a call for maintenance got it fixed in 30 minutes.
Had a great view of the nude beach; room 2267 is centrally
located, overlooking the massage shack, and an easy walk when we
forgot something in the room.
Did find a “present” on top of the closet; but as we don’t
smoke, we left it there for future guests.
Housekeeping service was excellent and had our room done
within an hour each day.
Highlights, activities, et cetera.
People:
Tom and Jenny, we were honored to attend your vow renewal (28 years,
Wow!). Sue Ann and
Chris, you are so much fun, hopefully we will see you in Vegas.
Lana & John, you chose the perfect spot to honeymoon.
Gene & Cathy, it was great to see you again and get to know
you better. Chris &
Melissa, so glad you guys faced your fears.
Rich & Margo, thanks for being the other “old guard” couple;
just love you guys. To
all the other Hedotinis, keep in touch and mark your calendars for
next year, especially those of you who were unable to join us (Dan,
Sarah, Scott, Sparky, Amy, Patrick, Eric, Debbie, Rick,
Lisa…apologies to those we forgot)!
Water Slide: We
both won prizes during naked waterslide; a bottle of rum and a beach
bag. Dock at Night:
Make sure to take a few minutes to stroll the dock at night.
Take a roll from the buffet with you to feed and watch the
fish and stingrays. We
got a few great photos of them one night and the coastline was
magical with its twinkling lights. Massage:
had a long aromatherapy massage that fixed my back.
Was somewhat uncomfortable with the extent to which the
massage went; included full gluteus maximus, stomach, and chest
around the breasts.
Should have discussed it with the masseur prior to the session, but
was unaware of this change of procedure as previous massages were
not to this extent.
PDAs & PDPs: abundant
throughout the day and night, both by the many lifestyle couples and
by others. Several
couples were warned to stay out of sight of the resort next door as
there were purportedly folks trying to videotape them “in the act”.
Some needed to be told not to do that sort of thing on the
bar/tables. Come on,
folks…ewwww…that’s where people put their food and drinks.
Off the Resort:
Margo and I walked down the back way past Sandals and
Beaches. We’d never
done that before and considered that our great foray!
Took some good pics of the flora and fauna.
It was fun, though we have to say that at Sandals we only saw
one group of people who were “actually talking” to each other and
had grouped their lounge chairs.
Everyone else pretty much stayed in pairs.
This would never happen at Hedonism 2 where everyone talks to
everyone. The pool
games at Sandals were pretty strenuous too compared to Hedo,
consisting of raft relay races.
The highlight of our little walk was the discovery that the
vendors in front of Beaches and Sandals were very reasonably priced,
not too pushy, and had a wide variety of goods.
Compared to the Straw Market, the vendors and the gift shop
at Hedo, they were definitely superior.
We plan to shop them in the future.
Lastly, I have to apologize to the Sandals people who walked
down to Hedo’s nude beach bar area one day; I didn’t really mean to
scare you by turning the bubble-gun on you and imploring you to
“come to the dark side”.
As I said, doing my best Charlie’s Angels stance, maybe next
time you will choose the resort you visit more wisely!
Choose Hedonism 2!
