Mike - June, 2008
This was my 4th visit to
Hedo II, and I took a virgin!
I'd not typically go into
the air/ground transportation, but I feel obligated this time.
We flew Northwest to Ft. Lauderdale, then Air Jamaica into Mobay.
We were about 2 hours late leaving Ft. Lauderdale, but arrived
by dinner time. The way back was another issue. We
had a two hour layover in Ft. Lauderdale on our return, but the
plane loaded about a half hour late. Then we sat in the
plane for an additional hour before takeoff. This made us
miss the connecting flight. Upon heading to the AJ ticket
window, we were shocked to see they were closed. Not only
closed...but the sign for AJ was gone. We finally found
someone to "help", but after 5 hours, we were told we'd have to
overnight.
The problems then got
worse. Without telling us, he'd booked us on standby with
Continental for the next morning. The first two flights
were sold out, so we eventually headed to Houston to hope to
make a connection into Indy. In their defense, they did
give us $20 for food and paid the hotel for the night.
That didn't quite make up for the extra 24 hours we spent trying
to get home. All they had to do was buy a slightly more
expensive flight.
Never will I fly AJ again.
Other than the return, it
was another wonderful trip. Michelle started out on the
prude side, but by the end of the week was standing on Moon Hill
waving her bottoms over her head to send our friends off in
style! Quite the transformation.
Sure, the shower flooded
the bathroom floor. Of course, the A/C didn't quite keep
the room cool and we didn't have enough room towels. Yeah, it
rained every day just after noon. OK...the EC's were a bit
absent, and we found one rude resort employee. But...we
laughed until our sides hurt, visited with old and new friends,
people watched until we couldn't stand it any more, danced, ate
and drank all we cared to, and just basically had the kind of
time I've grown to expect and she grew to love.
Can't wait to head back
next year!
