The Stimulus Package Trip
<<wink, wink>>
July 6-11, 2008
(single non-lifestyle gal on her 6th trip
home)
For the first time I had the opportunity and means
(thanks to uncle sam) to visit my home away from
home for a 2nd time in a year.
Between applying a hedo loyalty program
amount and opting to do a single-share room with
Denny’s group, my resort cost was just about 1
dollar over the ‘stimulus package’ amount – definite
sign that I needed to go get some hedo vibes!
J
My trip began on the Air Jamaica flight from
Baltimore when, unbeknownst to me, Noble’s Birthday
Bash was on the same flight.
The fun started immediately upon boarding
with some upbeat taunts between seating areas and
then I overheard the flight attendant make a comment
about Hedonism II – I just knew where they were
going.
Hehe!
Noble’s group included the man himself (who seemed
to be really low key), a couple who had just gotten
married, another couple who were going to get
married while at hedo, their family and a group of
male & female exotic dancers.
They were a great group of people who for the
most part stayed on the prude side daytime and I got
to taunt/tease each night at dinner/disco. [If any
of you guys are reading this –
Hiya!]
For the first time, there were 2 ½ or 3 shuttles
going directly to HII from the airport with no stop
at Lido, which made check in a bit delayed, but not
extreme.
While I waited for my room to be ready, I went down
to the nude side to say hi to Lewis & Alice –
somehow being fully dressed is ok on that side when
you are getting hugged by nekkid people, needless to
say they got me a bit damp…. ;-)
Then I went back to the front desk area and
hugged Okuson (previous EC Jama) getting him damp...
Yeah, I was home again!
J
My room was an ocean view prude room close to the
Sandals end which I didn’t mind at all.
The new A/C unit worked well in the room and
the thermostat allows you to set a temperature or
just set the fan on Auto, low, high or economy.
There was both an alarm clock and a cd
player/radio in the room this time.
The shower had 2 dispensers with a dove
liquid soap and a finesse shampoo/conditioner. I
booked single-share, but I did not have a room mate
all week.
Also, the maid service was excellent – thanks
Lorna!
Overall this week was more low-key than other trips
until the fluffernutters started coming in at the
end of the week.
It is also warmer and more humid at this time
of year with the temps staying higher at night than
in the winter months.
It rained almost everyday in the afternoon
for a longer time than in the winter and a couple
days the rain/thunderstorms didn’t stop to the point
where the EC’s played bingo in the main dining room
which was a first for me.
I can just see someone asking what I did at
hedo and responding that I played bingo.
Hehe!
The nights were clear – no rain.
The entertainment at night included a few outside
groups both on Sunday when a couple ladies sang and
then on Monday when the country singer performed.
Then on Thursday there was a performance by
the Negril Brothers dance team who were very good
(watch out ladies – they try to put on different
moves in the disco….).
On the other nights the ECs sang & otherwise
performed including the fashion show and a shortened
version of the trapeze act (which was nice since I
missed the main act by leaving on Friday).
Sunshine, Winston, Mega and even Sarge sang
during the week.
A bonus this week was a performance by the
exotic dancers on Monday night in the disco (& a
shorter one as part of a bachelorette party later in
the week).
I am not one who really likes to see full
frontal nudity during these shows (kind of odd
seeing that I am on the nude side all day…), but the
dance & other moves these guys & ladies can do
really are amazing.
They were set to perform a full show at the
Jungle in Negril on Friday (the day I left).
This trip I spent a lot of time with Winston, Omeca,
Munga, Christie, Michael, Dean and of course Mega &
Sarge. I
also tried to get to know some of the new female ECs
– there are several including at least one who
started 6 weeks ago.
I find that if you put out really
positive/respectful energy, people opt to spend more
time around you – this applies to both guests and
staff.
The female ECs tend to be more cautious (don’t blame
them), but this trip I really got to know them
better and had a great time dancing or just eating
lunch with them.
Highlights & Funnies
J
Going to dinner each night with Lewis & Alice –
dinner is the only time when I like to have a
guarantee of having someone to sit with and they
made sure I did.
Happy Birthday guys!!
J
Going to Bloody Bay public beach and realizing that
we had to put bathing suits on…then having someone
ask me if I had brought one (wore a sarong to the
beach each day).
Then wearing the swim suit and realizing how
much sand gets caught (& where) and how much you
have to re-adjust them in various places.
Ugh – the hardship!
Hehe!
J
Recognizing that not only is there 2 handed drinking
– there is 2 handed smoking at hedo (various
substances).
J
Having a huge flying beetle land on me on my way
back to the room one day that both had me freaking
out a bit and a maid come running to see if I was
ok. When
I said I was – just surprised, she responded, ‘ye,
you be irie, just scared half to death.’
[It is amazing that I haven’t seen more of
these – it is a rarity to see the larger bugs there
even though the climate is perfect for them.]
J
A lady in the hot tub (first time on the nude side)
saying, ‘I have never seen so many wee-wees in one
place in my life.’
J
A couple I hung out with this trip saying, ‘You
don’t have to go back to the room to do much here.’
J
Having a guy stare at me intently as I approached
the nude side bar on my last day and then ask me if
I knew him…only to find that he remembered me from
my NYE trip over a year and a half ago.
I had spelled out ‘I know how to move’ on his
back on Toga night that trip – what a way to
remember someone!
Hehe!
J
Having a grill chef deliver food to me at the pool a
couple days in a row (including making sure I had a
goodbye meal before I left) - a special bonus after
having only met and teased him on my last trip.
The food was good, but the fact that he both
recognized me and did this was truly awesome.
[I don’t tip – only give out positive vibes
to these guys.]
One of the local people who I hung out with this
week asked me why I go there and my response was for
the people (both staff & guests) and the ability to
be in water.
I find it really adds to my trip to spend
real time talking to the people who live/work there.
Some have developed a protective shell (after
years of working there & living as they do, I can’t
say I would be different), but if you treat everyone
with respect & honesty they will go out of their way
to make your trip a special one and really watch out
for you (which is especially nice when I go as a
single).
The downside is that these great people also make it
really hard for me to say goodbye each time….so now
I just say ‘until next time’ while the tears run
down my face.
J
I guess I will go somewhere else, when it
starts being easy to leave….
To all the great peeps I
spend time with this week, I send out big hugs,
bigger laughter and high hopes that I see you again
on my next trip or in the states – don’t be shy!

General Comments submitted
to the resort for suggested improvements:
F
Replace/repair the nude side stereo (wasn’t working
and they only shared a different unit from the prude
side on partial days).
F
Increase the level of A/C and/or add fans to the
piano bar and disco.
There was A/C present, but not enough,
especially in the disco.
F
Replace/repair the microphone set up for the main
dining room stage.
Having to watch the ECs maneuver corded & at
times low functioning mics is a distraction to the
shows.
F
Add more real/local reggae to the shows on reggae
night.
For country western night - the country performer is
talented, but the energy level is lower on this
night.
He either needs to do more upbeat songs or this
night needs to be replaced with something that will
keep everyone’s attention/energy alive.
