Brent & Sherry - August, 2008

Sherry and I  headed home on August 5th through the 15th. 10 days is always hard because you watch so many folks come and go, but it was a great trip. Foregoing all of the hoorah about the trip from the airport to the resort, it was as it always is. Upon arrival, Romeo ushered our bags to the room and all was well. We rushed to the pool and began to get our drink on. Even after 13 trips, we participated in the “ do it all in one day” ruse and jumped in as quickly as we could. Sherry brought wigs  and costumes for every single day, so I had a new concubine every night. It was very fun! Even better, since the resort was at about 30% capacity, the daily conversation was.. who is Sherry going to be tonight… as every wig/.costume was a different character. It rained hard for the first three days, but the sun peered out and canceled out any chance of free days.

Lobster was up about $20 dollars, we decided not to imbibe. A lot of our friends from last year were present, so we had a great time with them, but we made some great new friends as well. Disappointments…. EC’s were lazy until Winston came back in from the states, then he rev’ed everything back up. Come on Sarge… why aren’t you showing his leadership. 1st toga night winner was to a local that wasn’t wearing a toga. Give the sucker a bottle of rum, but don’t call him the toga winner. Winston killed that on the second week…. No toga… you didn’t compete. Winston should be the boss.. my corporate observation. While he was around they stepped up!

We were also disappointed that the Munasan and Pastafari restaurants were “dark” several nights, I guess because of capacity. Come on guys, cut staff… not services! We heard that folks had been laid off. The new piano bar player is an incredible player (Dion)… unfortunately he has to use his MOTIF keyboard as the piano is so badly out of tune. He also had to pull an amp from the Karaoke system. Come on Hedo… should I sell you a new amp? I can sell you one cheap! This had them a little off kilter every evening, doing the set up.

Disco remains way better at H3… just can’t understand why H2  won’t play music catered to the current crowd….. folks drifted away quickly. As a former DJ, I always tried to listen to my constituents and played what they wanted to hear. Funny how that works… folks hang around!

Repeaters… this was our 13th trip. Invitation to a repeater party? Not either week. What’s that about? We went anyway and actually won a free week!!! Where is the attention to detail?

Delroy finally showed up… he had been at Vegas at a convention. Don’t know why he bothered… he didn’t seem into it. Scumba rocked the whole time. Maybe Delroy was worn out?

The buffet was generally acceptable and we had no complaints at any meal. The Reservation staff seemed to lack attention to detail, booking us for a 9:00 PM reservation at Munasan that actually was 8:30 PM. That meant we got no fried rice, come on ladies… pay attention.

A bad day at Hedo II is a better day than anywhere else… so these comments were only meant to make suggestions for areas that need improvement
