Art & Jennifer - September, 2008

September 5 -14th

We have been to HII 8 times and HIII 3 times.

The occupancy this week was low.  I hear it was as low as 15% at times.  If it wasn’t for a small group of great friends and the Penthouse Key Girl of the year competition it would have been very quiet this week

Check-in: Was fast and friendly. It was our 25th wedding anniversary.  We mentioned this on our reservation and at check-in and while making dinner reservations.  Nothing was ever done.  Not that we needed anything but the gesture would of been appreciated.

Food: Very poor at times.  The main dining room was serving lunch and dinner from a limited menu.  The food was not cooked to order, but rather scooped out from a serving line for the waiters and waitresses.  Only one menu per table.  Very little fresh fruit at the breakfast buffet.

Pastafari’s and Munisan alternated the days they were open.  Pastafari was very good.  The nude pool grill service was horrible.  I heard of several complaints.  I ordered a burger and fries.  The burger was thrown on the grill and no communication was made by the lady cooking.

Entertainment: Winston was very talented.  During the day they were hardly seen.  Several days with little to no music at the nude pool area.

Piano Bar: Piano is still not working and a keyboard was substituted.  It was still a good time.

Scuba Diving: Diving was OK as usual.  The same dive site every day.  The staff seemed worn out.  Considering the amount of guys working and the few divers there you would expect a happier group.  The dive boat is getting old and need of repairs.  One of the motors was not working.  I think I have only seen it working a few times.  The ladder was missing which caused a few minor injuries that week.  The seats are falling apart.  They sent the boat out with a couple ½ full air tanks.  They returned to the dock to exchange tanks.  Not an issue for most divers considering the depth.

Hot water: Never any in the morning.

Repeaters party: None

Hedo Bucks: None.  Now they take your name and room number if you participate in an event.  Very difficult to redeem since the points list was not out in the morning.

Toga Party: None

Nude Beach: Very bad condition from a few days of high waves.  Lots of rotting sea weed.

Staff tried to manually bury it daily.  We walked down to Sandals and they had two big loaders and dump trucks to remove the seaweed.

Nude Police: We played nude volley ball at the prude pool for two days had a lot of fun and had no problems.  The third day we were told we couldn’t play nude since we were disturbing the other guests.  There were none at the time.

PDA’s:   OMG  I am blushing!

Room: We had room 2232 in the H - block.  Needs a little work.  For example: Hard to open door,  Bath door would not latch, Light over sofa went on and off by its self.  TV remote did not work.  The TV was stuck on the Playboy channel :) .

Overall we had a good time since we were with a great group of friends.  But we feel it is time for Hedo II to return some of the monies back into the resort.  We love the atmosphere at HII but it seems that is all that is left.
