Randy & Stephanie - September, 2005

As you may have noticed already, this trip report is from two Hedo II newbies. Because most of the people who read this report will have already been to Hedo, I am going to gear this report to (1) help the newbies/curious/prospectives understand Hedo a little better and (2) to make a trip report that seems to report on what is being regularly discussed on Denny's message board. Although we have been to c/o resorts before, this was our first to either of the Hedo's so we were a little apprehensive about Hedo because of some of the discussion on the board. I like to get all the information I can before going to a new resort so I regularly trolled Denny's site for about a month after we booked the trip to understand a little more about Hedo. So as a preliminary, if you haven't been to Hedo II before and need some information, the Denny's board is an excellent way to get it. Thank you Denny for maintaining this Board.

Travel to Jamaica: I hate reading about the actual travel experiences so I'll just say this. It takes a long time to get to Hedo II because everything flies into Montego Bay and it is a long, slow drive to get there from the airport. Add to that customs and the check-in process and your first day is short and tiring. Because your first and last days will be very short, I recommend booking as long a vacation as you can so that you don't feel like your trip was cut short.

Occupancy: Although several posts and trip reports gave a rather depressing view of the occupancy rate, it seemed that the resort was at least 75% full over the Labor Day weekend. Maybe more. There were plenty of people there and the social scene did not seem to lag for lack of occupancy. My view of the occupancy rate may have been skewed a little because we stayed on the nude side which was obviously filled more than the prude side.

Nude Side/Prude Side: If you haven't been to Hedo, I strongly recommend staying on the nude side. If you're shy, this doesn't mean that everybody you encounter on the nude side is nude. Most walk around in clothes except when they are headed to the nude beach and/or pool area. My recommendation is really based on two criteria. First, it is really true that the prude side seems dead in comparison. The prude area is larger but there doesn't seem to be as much comraderie or fun things happening on the prude side and it can be a pretty long walk from the prude to the nude side if you decide that you want to hang out on the nude side. Second, staying on the nude side, gives you options. By that, I mean, you can walk out of your room nude or clothed--day or night. If you are going to the nude beach or pool area, you can walk down there with a towel around you, with your swim suit on or nude. We felt it was very liberating to just walk out of the room nude and hit the beach/pool carrying only a towel.

Nude beach/pool areas: We loved both. Unlike some resorts, the nude area is pretty secluded and there are no tourists from other resorts wandering around unless they get a day/night pass. Nobody makes you feel uncomfortable and the experience is very liberating and fun. The beach and pool areas are clean and well maintained and we thought these areas were the best of any c/o resort we have been to.

Entertainment: The entertainment and the watersport facilities were all very good. Better than we expected. On the other hand, most guests seem to make their own entertainment. Hardly anybody uses the tennis courts, water facilities etc. If you want to, fine but we wanted a more relaxing vacation as most of the guests also seemed to prefer. We were there during the Carribean Modeling Contest. The people associated with the event didn't seem to mingle with guests so the event itself was kind of a non-event. Go watch the contests or other scheduled activities if you want but the scheduled events most, probably don't effect the overall operation of the resort much.

(Now, the more interesting stuff in no particular order)

Wallies and Vinnies: Single guys aren't much of a problem. You can kinda ignore them if you want. There are two distinct groups. Guys that are respectful and enjoyable and the rest. The ratio is probably 20 to 1 in favor of the respectfuls and enjoyables. While we were there, we noticed one obvious "Wally" on a night pass. He was alone and was hanging out at the jacuzzi. Everytime, he would see some petting or PDA, he would move as close as he could (within 2-3 feet) to the couple to try to watch. He would then sit on the edge of the jacuzzi and fondle and play with himself and would kinda slowly masturbate while he kept trying to get as close to the action as possible. He was kinda creepy but he never got close to us so we didn't really have to deal with him. He was the only one we saw of this ilk. On the other hand, there were about three "frat boys" (what we called them) that seemed to be first timers. They were kinda obvious in that they were with each other and hung in a pack and seemed to be pretty voyeuristic and kinda stared at alot but they really weren't a problem. The rest of the single guys (and gals) were not a problem, blended in and were respectful and fun. Don't stay away from a Hedo experience over these really small issues. Just overlook them and have your own fun.

PDA's:  To protect the guilty, I am going to lump my own personal PDA's into this paragraph without identifying my own.  Overall, there was an abundance of PDA's.  More than I experienced at Desire.  If you are shy or don't want to be exposed to PDA's, it is easy to avoid them by doing two things.  First, schedule your time at the pool area before 10:00 or so.  After 10:00 and especially after about midnight, things heat up more.  Second, turn your head.  Nobody ever sat down right next to us and immediately started heavy petting. That would be the exception, not the norm.  Most couples want a little space when they get into PDA and it is easy to avoid looking if you don't want to.  Having said that, PDA's occurred both in the daytime and at night but mostly at night.  In the daytime, couples would discreetly stroke each other on rafts and on the beach.  A few beach chairs down, a lady laid on a raft with her legs spread while her man spent about 10 minutes pleasuring her with his hand.  I saw the same on rafts. Men rubbing women and vice versa.  Around the pool and jacuzzi, there was really nothing that I didn't observe.  There was a threesome in the jacuzzi one evening that lasted about 20 minutes.  Oral sex performed on men was plentiful.  Twice, I saw ladies laying by the jacuzzi while their man pleasured them orally.  One evening, there were six couples in the jacuzzi and all six were engaged in sex acts.  People had intercourse both in the jacuzzi at night and in the pool in the daytime.  Once, at 10:00 in the morning, a couple went into the grotto where they massaged each other until the man was visibly excited at which time, his woman went down on him.  Sex in the grotto was not abundant but at least two other times, I observed oral sex happening in the grotto.  And, at night, at least twice, there were couples having sex on the beach.  So, in a nutshell, the action was abundant but I literally could have avoided virtually all of it and still have had a good time.  But I had a great time, not a good time.  You can take it from there.

Sex Police:  Non-existent to my knowledge.  Security staff walked right by people having sex and didn't say a word. I guess enforcement fluctuates from time to time.

Shaving:  I'd say about half of the women were shaved and about the same percentage of men were either shaved or had short crewcuts.  My S/O went with a short crewcut landing strip but we shaved it all off while we were there.

Swingers:  We aren't but there were some swingers that were apparent.  We spoke with people who obviously were swingers but nobody pressured us at all.

Newbies:  I'm sure it was coincidence but most of the persons we met were newbies at Hedo II although one couple had previously been to Hedo III.  Many were married with children.  One couple was on their honeymoon.  As best as I could determine, all the newbies quickly shed their inhibitions inasmuch they consistently hung out in the nude on the nude section and I observed all of them engaged in PDA's.  So, to you newbies, I can only say that it's only natural to be apprehensive but that goes away very quickly---within about two minutes of dropping your towel and being publicly nude.  Nobody cares what you look like and nobody is going to target you for anything that you want to avoid.  My S/O is still a little shy so I took her immediately to the nude pool as soon as we arrived because if you avoid getting your clothes off too long, you'll regret it when it's time to leave.  You'll feel like you wasted the period of time that you were too shy to join in.

Clothed people on the nude side:  Personally, the only thing that really makes me nervous while I am nude is people with their clothes on.  Having said that, nobody hung around with their clothes on or walked through gawking.  Mostly, it consisted of people who were just quickly checking out the area who either immediately undressed or later came back undressed.  I was concerned with this topic before I went but, after going, I wasn't concerned with it at all.

Body Shots:  One afternoon at the pool, two couples did body shots at the pool, pouring rum cream on each ladies breasts and crotch.  The husbands would lick the rum cream off the breasts and the other lady would lick it from the crotch area.  That's all the body shots I saw while I was there.

Summary.  Travel to Hedo?  Long, tiring and a bummer.  Hedo Facilities?  Rooms fair (actually, I'll give the rooms an "excellent" rating because of the mirrors on the ceiling over the beds), Food? fair.  Activities/facilities? excellent.  Prude beach? Excellent (but I never hung around there).  Nude Beach:  The best of the three I've been to (hidden beach and desire) although many I spoke with didn't rate it as high as I did.  Nude Pool area?  Excellent!  I love swim up bars like at Hedo.  The cool jacuzzi was great to meet and talk with others.  The misting pool was neat for sunning or as a prelude to entering the grotto. The jacuzzi?  Excellent, great temperature, large enough to hold many and very conducive to PDA's after dark.

Suggestions to Newbies:  Consider going with a group like the one Denny sponsors--WWW.  Hedo is very social and you'll want to meet people even if you're a little shy.  You'll meet people on the way there and while you're there.  When we return, I think we'll probably go with a group just so we'll know more people to visit and hang with while we're there.  And "YES" we will definitely return to Hedo II---after we check out Hedo III.  Clearly, this type of resort isn't for everybody but if you even think you might enjoy it, take a trip to Hedo because I can almost guarantee you that you will love it and want to return.
