Nick & Frances

Nick and Frances Second Trip Report: 6/18/05-6/25/05

A brief summary before going into a slightly more detailed report

Best things about this trip: hot showers, the catamaran cruise, snorkeling off the prude beach, Munasan, dressing in togas for Pastafari, and of course, the people!

Worst things about this trip: Miami International Airport, Insect bites, more drug pushing than last time by staff and non-staff, the fact we didnt book just one more day.

Day-By-Day Summary

6/18: Travel started at 2:45 PM with our flight from Boston, layover in Miamididnt arrive at the resort until 10:30 PMbeing wiped, we decided the best thing to do was get drunk and go to bedbeing reacquainted with Red Stripe was a wonderful thing, Frances chose a mix of fine tropical drinks to do the trick.

6/19: Woke up around 8 oclock. Showered and went to breakfastwere beachside by 11. After soaking up the rays for an hour or two, we headed poolside where we soon met up with some people we had talked to online. Spent the rest of the day poolside getting to know people and experimenting with new drinks. After dinner with Arthur and Cyndi from NY, we all moseyed on over to Karaoke in VeronicasI did my now famous Axl Rose impression with Sweet Child OMine to a nice ovation. Together, Frances and I did a duet version of More Than Words by Extreme. I sang at least three other songs, but due to constant refills of Red Stripe cannot recall them (If anyone does, please let me know!). We were all but kicked out at 1AM after a 3-person rendition of Walk this Waywent to hot tub for a little while, then to bed hoarse, drunk and happy.

6/20: Deciding that we were more pool people than beach bums, we spent the day at the pool talking with peoplehot tub at nightother than that cant recall much due to alcohol-induced memory lapse.

6/21: Catamaran cruise! We hadnt had time on our last trip, but decided to give it a try this time. seeing the landscape from a boat is absolutely amazing. Snorkeled at he reef, but not much to see. arrived at Pirates Cove. Both of us cliff jumped, and judging from the rather large welts left on many peoples behinds after impact, it was probably a smart idea. I did take advantage of the waterslide off the boat, and Frances says she got some pretty good action shots of me mid-air (will see for sure when the film is developed). Naked water slide raid! After the cruise, back to the beach, then dinner and PJ party! Frances sported a trashy thong and I sported a lovely tux thong. We won third place for best couple. Hot tub copulation before sleep.

6/22: Breakfast, pool, etc.  We were treated to quite a floor show at the nude pool that involved a pool table, two women and a rather large phallic like instrument..  We dined with a few of the participants at Munasan that night and they asked if wed seen the show (they were rather proud of their handiwork.) Repeaters party- excellent food, met Mr. Bourke who said that there are a few more property projects in the works, though he declined to give details. Met Jeff and Janlyn from Mass, who ironically are originally from the place well be moving to in August. They gave us the 411 on a lot of stuff well need to know (thanks so much, guys!) Piano bar at night.    Ill agree with other trip reports and say that the piano bar is rather dead and uninspiringfew people were interested in singing, and the EC staff and bar crew ended up doing most of the performing.

6/23: We did the scavenger hunt game, and one of the items we needed was a man in a womans bathing suitusing her quick thinking, Frances ran and got her two-piece and slapped it on meI then proceeded to strut around the pool to many a cat call and hootthe rest of the week I was complimented on my lovely figure, and I have the feeling people will be bringing this up to me whenever were there. Body shots-Rum cream never tasted so good! Ate at Pastafari for Toga Nightfeeling very Roman (especially later that night).

6/24: The last day. Windy and cloudy to begin the day. Fell asleep on beach before meeting up with our little group. Spent most of the day at the hot-tub until the weather cleared. Then we went to watch people try their luck on the trapeze. Hot-tubbed and then our last dinner. The Grand Buffet was certainly impressiveas was the circus act. The goodbye-hugs, then watching some friends put on an underwater flash show for the disco windows. More goodbye hugs before packing and turning in.

6/25: Bright and early bus ride (8AM) back to MBJ, heads on each others shoulders, thankful for one of the best times of our lives. To everyone we met: thank you for making us feel so welcome and enjoying the wild ride with us. See you next time!
