Hedo II Trip Report, Finally, after our third trip!!!

Laura and Leigh June 9-14, 2005 (B52s)

We had to shorten the trip this year from our usual 7-8 day extravaganza to a 5 day all out blow out.  We left Orlando and flew to Charlotte then onto Mo Bay and actually beat the direct flight by two hours since it is only a late afternoon flight, but with the changing etc, would probably do a direct next time.

Customs was piled up, never seen it like this before, the line even rivaled our beloved Disney world maze scrolling lines.  Made it through, whisked into the new Superclub welcome center very quickly and friendly and off to the cab and on our way.   The views always humble me and push a tinge of reality in my otherwise fantasy vacation.

Made it to the resort about 3pm greeted with champagne, very attentive staff and we got our room and waltzed down an old familiar pathway of extravagant tropical bouquets of wild peppers, exotic flowers and yes, essence of cannabis.  Needless to say, I sucked it all in.

We had almost approached our room on the prude side, when all of a sudden a group of four came up (Jim, Sue, Mike and Lori) waltzing up with grins on their faces, even though I hadnt seen them and barely emailed them in over two years, it was like a family reunion, so great, embraced and really felt good, it is so true when you read that the people you meet really enhance the whole experience!!!!

Got into the rooms, they really looked great, the showers were high tech and refreshing, took me a couple of days to master the controls, quickly changed and off to the nude side for a drink and to hook up with our buddies.  We just felt like kids in a candy store soaking up the familiarities, had Jerk chicken the first night, always a treat, the weather was overcast; nice breeze and we were loving it.

Met up with two other very good friends, Rhonda and Dave and just made a night of it, really relaxing, laughing and the time flew. Before we knew it was the next day. Hit the breakfast homemade omelets and blue mountain coffee hit the spot.  Then off to the nude beach, where we meandered with everyone on the mattresses and soothed our refreshment needs at the bar.

On Friday we took a long walk down the beach into other resort areas to check out the shopping, it was good, bought some cigars and cute bathing suit wraps and really got a good price.  We participated in the volleyball and the bocce ball was fun and the ring toss too!!!  When it got really hot, hit the cold Jacuzzi in between the hot tub and nude pool with super sized jets, we must have had about 10 people in there, we were all just cracking up and talking met some new friends, really fun!!!!

Saturday it was catamaran cruise, and we hit the weather perfectly, beautiful views snorkeling and the cave waters were a bit rough, leigh and Wayne dove off the cliffs to our surprise, his wife, Sherry and I just watched in horror, nice people we met from the panhandle a laugh a minute!!!

Saturday night we made reservations for Pastifaris it was very good, the antipasto was refreshing, I had the steak and even though a bit tough to cut with a butter knife, the taste and sauce was delicious!! Leigh had the shrimp pasta and raved about it.  We went to the show in the dinning room and hooked up with the others, it was the men of hedo battling it out and one of our friends, Mike called the winner.

Then off to Veronicas, we hit the side room to check out the pictures of prior Hedonites, funny some are from the late 80s really cracked us up.  We sat for a few rounds of karaoke and our friends (Cindy and Howard) did a great rendition of Ella Fitzgerald, I swapped clothes with one of the Aussie mates we met and it was too hysterical J

Sunday was hit the pool, relax and hang out at the pool bar but then later we decided to do a Para Sailing, I had done it once in the Florida Keys but dont remember it like this, they really hoisted us up high and although the view was great I was literally terrified making a quivering animal noise.  Though maybe I should have had just one more drink.

Met back up with our buddies, tried to just hold on to what short time we had left.  We all just laughed, had a cigar, few drinks.  We ate that night at the Steak Restaurant (Benny Hanna wanna be) the sake was good and the food wasnt bad, I just felt bad that most of the course had seafood in it and Mike was allergic.  But when his steak came, he downed it.

Monday was almost surreal to think we were really enjoying ourselves and yet were only a day away from leaving all of this.  We tried to pack it all in, nude hot tub in the rain, lots of action to watch and partake in if interested.  We hit a couple of those fun small pools and did the nude walk over to the prude side while trying to encourage the bewildered to join our tribe, we caught a few, then back to the nude pool to relax.

Next morning our crew came out to see us off in style, we were treated to a full moon on the taxi ride out which only seemed an appropriate ending.  We will definitely visit again maybe in a few years but the atmosphere, experience, friends everything about Hedo II is so worth the trip.

Our friends made us all a rock to immortalize the trip, done in florescent orange nail polish, which earlier was painted on all of the mens toenails (too much fun).  The entire trip was a mingle of laughter, love, and true friendship, we had such a great escape, a truly authentic vacation where we didnt once think of work or what time it was, or what chores we had, I believe everyone needs a little Hedo once in a while.
