First trip report in 8 times(sorry Denny)!
It takes forever to get to Hedo from Colorado. Usually
we stay one or two days in Miami on the way then take the early flight to
Mobay and are at Hedo by 1:00. Didn't get into the room this time till
8:00-YIKES. The traveling was OK but ran into a huge holdup at
immigration. We nerver could figure out just what the problem was but we
did wait 1and1/2 -2 hrs to get through after we landed at 3:30. Some
people waited a total of THREE hrs. I think we were the last few people to
go through. I hope this is a problem that can be and is fixed.
Our first dinner was on friday right after we arrived
and that proved to be fantastic. There is a new chef and there is a
new "grand buffet" on fridays with lobster(yum) and sushi and all manner
of variety of foods. It was really good. The food that week was good, but
not much different than previous visits. Went to Pastafari twice-once it
was delicious(lamb chops) and once it was very marginal. Oh well, I fill
up at Robert's mostly any way. He was his usual gorgeous and delightful
self .
The entertainment at dinner and at lunchtime spin was
definitely not as fun as in the past, don't know if this was because of
Valentines day (wanting to tone down the crazy stuff and be more of a
romantic resort) or what. No real battle of the sexes. no Man in Motion
VERY marginal wet Tshirt contest. Maybe folks just weren't
interested. Maybe that is one area where the new RULES are having an
affect. That would be a shame because a lot of those shows were hilarious
and great fun. The ECs aren't quite as dynamic as they have been known to
be either even though most of them are friendly and work hard. Not
everyone can be The Sizzla!!
The beach was the same wonderful place, afew tattered
trees but mostly the same,Augustus was in fine form.
The new rules didn't seem to be too much in evidence,
still lots of PDAs on the beach and certainly in the hot tub and no one
commenting ( other than "you go girl ") There was one very
thorough get together on the table in the pool in broad daylight that was
enjoyed by all..... :-) Most everyone has respect as far
as pic taking etc........
The new room renovations are nice, not a big change,
however the showers are really nice. The TV is really unnecessary but
watching the playboy channel was fun-when it was coming in. Still alot of
little ant around but not a big deal. Sheryl did a really nice job keeping
our room tidy.
We met some really nice people this time as usual-this
was the first trip in a while where we really didn't know anyone else from
previous trips( this was our first trip in Feb).It is such a wonderful
thing to be hanging ay the bar or in the tub and just start getting to
know folks so easily-nowhere else on earth is it like that! Whoever
brought the big square blow-up tub---thanks a bunch, the oil wrestling was
a blast! I think Cheryl, "the cruise director " came up with that idea. I
hope all of the injured are well now! :-) Donna and
Stephanie, you girls were a lot of fun and added a lot to our trip, thanks
for sharing-- :-) Elle and Mark, so fun, I'm missing my daily squeeze
Mark! Becky and Jim, Vickie(what a kick) and Tom, Dawn and Jeff. The
Jaybirds are a great group too- I guess i've been immortalized on
film right Ray?
