Gwenda & Meghan - March, 2005

Hedonism II March 26 to April 2, 2005

Well, first things first, we were super excited to get on our way that we barely slept the night before! Our flights all ran on time and except for some slight turbulence, at one point, the flight was quite smooth! We arrived at the airport in Montego Bay at 6:30pm (I couldve fainted with the humidity, coming from cold Northern Alberta, but all went well!).  The lines at customs were very long but we went through quite fast, no problems. We were quickly directed to the Superclubs desk and the wait for the bus to Hedo was not very long at all. After all that we heard about the bus ride we did not know what to expect but it was not bad at all. We met 2 couples from Alberta that were also going to Hedo and made friends that lasted the rest of the week (you guys know who you are, youre awesome, we miss you!!). We also got our first taste of Red Stripe (it is great by the way!). The ride to Hedo was only about 1 hour and 20 minutes and it was neat to see even though it was dark.

When we arrived at the Hedo front desk at about 9:00pm, we again didnt know how long of a wait to expect. But we did not have to wait any longer than 10 minutes to be handed our room key and safe lock, it was great!!  The staff is so friendly and courteous! We made our way to our room to wait for our bags (yes, they deliver your bags to the door for you), we had the best room on the prude side as a matter of fact, it was awesome! We were about 20 steps away from everything, the pool, the bar, the dining hall, and not too far from the beach. After we got our bags we of course made our way up to the main bar (where else would 2 single women go to first??).  There I had my first dirty banana, it was quite good but I quickly made up my mind that my favorite drink was going to be the Land Shark.  We tried many different drinks over the week but kept on going back to the good old Land Shark, it just seemed like you werent drinking anything at all until it kicks you in the ass after about 7! Hahaha We met Tanya at the bar and would like to thank her for introducing us to a great shooter The Flaming Bob Marley it was great, you gotta try one, but be careful, drink it fast, the straw catches on fire!! From there we found ourselves making our way to the disco for the first of many LONG nights! Of course after some dancing and some more drinks we made our way over to the nude pool, where we met Fern and David (hello mom and dad, your both totally awesome!!).  It was quite an experiencewell leave it at that!!! That was the first and last time we went over there not because of anything in particular but we just had more fun over on the prude side, so we thought why leave it?

We are not going to do a day-by-day thing because there are some parts that are quite blurry!!! So we will just touch on some points that stick out in our minds.

Entertainment The Entertainment Staff were the best thing about the whole resort!! If you go tell Lenny, Koro, Bradley and Ray Ray that we said hi! They made us feel so welcome and comfortable, from hanging out in the main dining hall (which is where we spent a lot of day) to dancing the night away in the disco (which is where we spent a lot of our night)! They were always there to chat with or talk us into playing the lunchtime or dinnertime games.  During these games you earn Hedo bucks, which can be used to purchase bottles of Rum.  We did play quite a few games and ended up with 5 bottles of Rum, which we werent allowed to bring home, so we ended up giving one away before we left!! The staff made sure that we were always having fun! Every night has a different theme and they are all awesome and FUN, take part in PJ night and toga night for sure youll have a blast!! The pools were kept very clean and swimming was great, we swam everyday! Even if you are a prude (like us) nude water sliding backwards at 2am is a MUST!!!

Rooms They were awesome! Very clean, big enough, comfortable beds, hot water (everyday!!), no problems at all with the air-conditioner and there was no noise disturbance at all, although we were the ones probably making the noise until 5am!

Food It was great! No complaints at all. The buffet was great every day and night with way too much to choose from! Whatever you do, try the Pastafari restaurant it is great and it is even greater that you dont need to pay for it you just get up and go. You have to also try the spicy cheese from the buffet (so good)!

We were so sad to leave on Saturday, but Lenny walked us to the door to see us off, how sweet!!! We made friends that will last a lifetime.  If we can give you a tip, make friends with both the prudes and the nudes. A good way to do that is to go on the clothing-optional catamaran cruise and leave your inhibitions on the dock.  We kept our clothes on and didnt feel out of place at all. Daryl and Kathy, Fern and David, DeAnn and Pete, we love you for making our first trip to Hedo so memorable...see you at Christmas?? Haha

And Daryl you were right we will never be the same again!

You gotta go!!
