Duane & Tammy - February, 2005

This was our 4th trip to Hedo II for 1st week in February with the Chili Peppers group. We had 30+ members attend this year and everyone had a great time. Tammy and I stayed nine nights this trip and it was a bit long for us. The human body can only take so much. We'll probably stick with 6 or 7 days from now on. No way I can keep the things that we do remember in order, so I'll just list it in sections.

TRAVEL- We had problem free flights from Tri-Cities connecting in Charlotte with USAir. Some of our friends flew Air Jamaica from D.C. and L.A. and were delayed and/or rerouted both directions. Hope AJ gets their problems solved soon. The line at immigration took 45 minutes. They have changed their methods and it is very slow. All booths were not open but should have been. After luggage pick-up the line at customs took 15 minutes. Best part was the van to Hedo started moving about 30 seconds after we boarded. Brief stop for Red Stripes and we were home.

ROOMS-Our requested H-block room was unavailable so we stayed near the tennis courts the first night. They had us in H-block by 10:30 the next morning so all was good. We enjoyed the new large showers with the multi-spray heads. Hot water was very rare in our room (2131). The TV was only used by me to watch Playboy channel while Tammy got ready each evening. We did enjoy connecting our digital camera to the TV and viewing the pix we had taken.

FOOD-We thought the food was much better this year in comparison to our previous trips. The main dining room had more variety. Great pasta bar a couple of evenings. Fried and baked fish were good too. Friday was lobster/sushi bar night and we were glad we hit it twice. Awesome.
Pastafaris was great too. I recommend the lamb chops. The best dining of the week was Munasan. We ate there twice. It was as good as any Japanese style restaurant we have been to. The chefs were friendly and fun as well.
Robert was serving his fare with a smile as always at the beach grill. The burgers and fries were great. We had the worlds best jerk chicken 9 nights in a row. A sign was posted saying you could not purchase and grill lobsters at Roberts until further notice. Something to do with government health issues?? We had the burned popcorn one day. Next day we were so excited when we saw the staff bring in a new popcorn machine. Guess what . More burned popcorn. Guess it is not a Jamaican specialty.

NUDE BEACH-This is where we spend most of the daylight hours. Lots of sunshine and zero rain for 9 straight days. The resort was 65% full so we didn't have any trouble getting a lounge in sun or shade. The water was calm so we enjoyed an hour or so on the floats every day. More playing on the rafts than we have ever seen. We figured it must be "F**k on a Float" week. Every time we looked up one or two couples were enjoying themselves. One Pepper couple brought a large inflatable swimming pool. We put soap bubbles in along with  11 sexy Pepper ladies. Sooooo much fun. The simulated sex shows out on the jetty point were a blast too. The gawker boats from the prude resorts loved it. I would hate to think the highlight of my week in Jamaica was a 2 minute boat ride past Hedo II. The music was toned down a bit. We missed the hot n' steamy songs of previous years.

NUDE POOL/HOT TUB-Same ole nude hot tub. One day the water is so hot you can't stand it, next day cold as ice. The pool water is usually cool this time of year because of limited sunshine on the water. Plenty of PDAs here during the afternoon, happy hour, and of course late at night. Saw the hammocks near the restrooms in use too.We enjoyed happy hour with the Peppers every day. We always had a car wash or something fun going on. Happy hour at the hot tub with our friends is our favorite time.

BARS-Delroy was at the nude bar most everyday. Only saw Scumba there a couple of times. All the bars were well staffed and the wait for drinks was never over a couple of minutes. We enjoy Vodka Slush but they all taste a little different depending on which bartender prepares them. We heard banana crop was ruined because of hurricanes. I missed my mid-morning Dirty Banana.

DISCO-The dance music was better this year. Less modern Jamaican rap and more popular stuff along with some good classic dance tunes. Even heard AC/DC one night. Yes!  The Pepper ladies loved getting up on stage and dancing around that pole. If your fantasy is to be an exotic dancer the disco pole is for you. Careful with the PDAs here. Two couples were asked to stop as soon as they got started.

ENTERTAINMENT COORDINATORS-The staff didn't seem as motivated to us. They were not able to keep the energy level up during Battle of the Sexes, Wet-T, and beach games. Lots of new faces. Rae Rae was still his girly acting self.

STUFF-Porn star Lisa Lipps was there the whole week with her volleyball sized breasts. She was always friendly and glad to pose for pix. She was supposed to split her week at Hedo III but decided to spend the whole time at H II.........Hedo bucks don't buy much anymore. I suggested to some of the staff to give medium size bottles of booze to winners and shot sized bottles to participants of events.........The Chili Peppers booked a private cat cruise. No Rasta Ralphie but major fun anyway. The dining room prepared us a fruit and cheese tray to take along. The construction at Rick's seems to be going very well.......The grounds looked better than ever. The landscaping looked trim and neat and not overgrown. Very nice garden where the bird sanctuary was........

FRIENDS-We made several new friends which is truly a magical part of the Hedo experience. The Chili Peppers were great as always. Thanks to all our friends and especially the ones that made our trip very special.

We hear the resort is trying to clean up it's act and appeal to a broader crowd. We think the resort is awesome and the crowd  is perfect as is. Hope next year we can return to the Hedo we have grown to know and love.
