Don & Deb - April, 2005

My wife and I survived our "virgin" trip, April 5-12, 2005.

Flight on US Air was fine, getting through customs/immigration was easy (be sure to have all the forms filled out). We spent less than 15 minutes in the Superclubs lounge before getting on the "bus". I as expecting a school bus but it was really a big van, there was three couples and two single guys. The bus ride was very quiet, with one brief "bathroom" stop. Check in at Hedo II was quick and easy (we arrived after 3pm), We had booked ROTH thru DennyP and was given garden nude (rm 2252), we could actually see the ocean over the top of the ocean view rooms.  Unloaded the suit cases and went to the nude beach. After brief hesitation on my part (being a "short" guy and all, the thought of being naked was a bit unnerving), we hit the sand. Nude volleyball was going on and it was easy to sit and watch. I even went into the water to retrieve a ball. Then the rain started. It had been sunny in Mobay, but got progressively more cloudy as we came to Hedo. We went to Delroys for the famous jerk chicken (which is very good) before heading back to the room. The nightly buffet was good and the floorshow (Battle of the Sexes) was funny and I also found out the wife can't fake an orgasm very well. The PJ party in the disco was good, but I don't really care for the techo/club/dance music and can't dance, so mostly we watched. After the awards, we went to the nude hot tub till about 3am (which would be our latest night). The tub was pretty "active", with many couples engaged in PDA's.

Our second day started with sun, but had a very rainy afternoon. This made for a good turn out for the noon time wet t-shirt contest, wife made a better showing, taking third place. We ate at the Jamaican restaurant, which was moved from the prude beach to the back of the main dining area due to the rain. The food was good, but unless your really into Jamaican food, I wouldn't eat there, since one night the buffet will have Jamaican food (if your there a whole week). The nude hot tub was active again, but we crashed before 2.

The rest of our seven day stay was sunny and great. Basically we spent the mornings on the nude beach drinking water, the afternoons in the nude pool drinking alcohol, the evening watching the floor show and after midnight we went to the nude hot tub. It was very interesting, as people we had met left and new people arrived, the whole dynamic and mood of the resort changed. By mid week, more singles and a younger (we're around 40) crowd had arrived.

We did several of the "activities" :  the sunset cruise (a cloudy day with some showers) was fun, with 80% of the people getting nude. We stopped to snorkel and the on to the cliff dives (it cost two dollars to jump, which I didn't do). The only upsetting thing was the number of other boats around with kids on them while we were nude, I know in many parts of the world its normal for kids to see naked people, but not in my neck of the woods. I liked the toga party, but didn't go to the disco. The beach party was a dud. The circus show was ok. The talent show was fun.  Only went to the piano bar twice; once was bad and once was just ok. We did the parasail which was great and got some wonderful photos. The nude beach games are fun (I can't play twister but rolled a few good Boca balls). It is so easy to get Hedo bucks that everyone should go home with at least one bottle of free rum. Pastafari is wonderful, definitely go there, we passed on Munsan, didn't want to sit next to the grill in the heat.

We thought our room was just fine, didn't have any problem with hot water and the 5 shower heads are awesome. We did hear some people talk about having to wait on hot water since their room was on the far end of the prude side. The hot tub was really hot, so much so that I couldn't stay in very long. We had no trouble getting food and drinks

Check out was also quick and easy, getting through customs went fine too The make you get to the airport really early, so we had to sit around and wait for a while before departure.

I want to thank Denny for our booking and a great website, Chris S. for her great book (if you don't have it, order it from her website, and take it with you on your trip). We met lots of great people: Pete and Steph, it wasn't the same after you left; Francois and Karen; Kate, Steve and Karen; Julie and Scott (hope your knee is better); Chris and Carlos; Steve and Lisa; Jim and Carrie (at 19 trips, they were a wealth of knowledge); Lori and Ray; and all the wild people from Washington state.

All in all we had a great time, but by day five I was looking forward to getting back home, maybe it was the dread of knowing I had to leave or maybe it was most of the people we had met had left and it takes a day to meet new people that I knew we wouldn't really get to know, or I just felt my time at Hedo was done.
There were Lifestyle people there, at least from the conversations I heard, but no one propositioned us, don't know whether to be relieved or insulted by that fact.
The resort was less than 50% full during our stay and many people who had been there before said it was a slow week, but we had fun.
