Aldo & Bonnie - December, 2004

December 10-18, 2004

Our Hedo2 trip started with a 4 hour flight to Toronto, 4 hour layover that we were not looking forward too, and another 4 hour flight to MB. The trip to TO was quiet, we had breakfast at the airport and settled in for the long wait. A few minutes later a couple that boarded with us in Edmonton sat down not far away and always the social butterfly I strolled over and said hi. As it turns out they live 10 minutes from us and were off to Hedo 3. The four of us spent the next couple hours chatting which really made the time pass. We have gotten together once since returning and hopefully will again as P and T are really nice and fun loving people. Still 1000 miles from the resort and already meeting cool ( and sexy ) people, things really started on a good note and only got better....

If you are thinking of going to Hedo but feel a little shy about it.... GO THERE!!! We met more great people and partied harder in one week then the last 5 years combined at home. It is unlikely that anyone will do anything to make you uncomfortable, very much the opposite. If you are easily shocked maybe avoid a lifestyles week and the hottub at night, otherwise Hedo is nowhere near as wild as it is made out. Think sun, beach, tons of great food, alcohol by the pail, your significant other, no screaming kids, funloving people, where does it end? This place really does allow the little kid in all of us to get absoloutely plastered and let it all hang out. As my friend Boston Mike said and I quote " there are 7 things we should not have to much of and they are all free at Hedo ", amen brotha!

The best way to approach things, I believe, is one at a time so here goes:

1. The people that we met are truly from all walks of life, a mechanic, plumber, salespeople, techies, doctor, lawyer, nurse and more that I can't recall. The one thing we all have in common is a zest for life and funloving natures. I stopped at the dining room for a coffee one morning after watching the sunrise and was invited to sit with the only other person in there. Jerry, a vet from Kentucky and 20 some years my senior, proceeded to entertain me with stories of a squirrel infestation in his cabin back home. We could not possibly be from more opposite ends of the spectrum and were total strangers, but enjoyed each others company anyway. That's Hedo in a nutshell.

Boston MIke n Patty- The poster kids for Hedo, they really should not be allowed out without supervision. We shared meals, drinks, spin class ( try it, a great workout ), and many a laugh and conversation. Two people that really know how to enjoy themselves and keep everyone around them in stitches, we hope that someday our paths will cross again.

B from Florida- A very cool and suave cat....the only single man who caught the eye of my wife yet managed to not alienate me within 2 minutes. A very funny and respectful individual who has offered to be our tour guide if we choose Florida for an upcoming Disney trip with the kids. Your retelling of the accident story was hilarious, please look both ways before crossing !! We hope you find that special someone before our paths cross again.

K and S from Utah- Look innocent, act innocent, but my oh my...Don't ever judge a book by the cover, we will keep in touch and that's a promise. Thanks for being part of our vacation.

M n L from Minnesota- The poster kids for your local church but so much more under that. M, you were a bad influence on someone who is always open to suggestion... I really wish you guys lived closer ( my perfect neighborhood ) but in our case maybe distance is good. Monkey see - monkey do, too be continued at some point...

K n S from( can't remember ) I am still amazed that a 5' 1" woman can have a 6' tall man, bottle of wine in hand, in tow taking care of her every need. What do you do for that man to make him so responsive? hee hee. Thanks for being part of our vacation, we will keep you in the loop if a Desire trip works out. Maybe things can pick up where they left off...

RandynJen- The only guy who had his wife bring him coffee in the morning, a good example that was not followed by the rest of the women. I thought we were pretty laid back until meeting you two, thanks for good company and conversation. As we sit here freezing our asses off, rest assured we will be thinking of you next hurricane season. :-)

M&S  J&K our neighbors from Georgia- The energizer bunnies next door. Thanks again for the help with toga tying, I would still be trying to get it right. You 4 were a riot and a pleasure to have next to us, I hope we see you again in our travels. One never knows...

K and nurse D from Atlanta ( I think )- Was it K or was it Travolta? Just rermember that one move and it's all good. Thanks for your company, you are really nice and genuine people behind the " shy at first " nature. D, I still get shivers thinking about the booty shakeoff during toga night. YOU GO GIRL !!

All the people who work the resort- Kudos too all of you, from first to last. A very warm and funloving bunch very quick to smile and chat, thanks for spoiling us the whole week. Take the time to say hello to everyone you meet, it is worth the effort.

2. The resort- Beauiful, like living in the middle of a rain forest. Clean as can be, nice gym, nice restaraunts and rooms, amazing beach, it really is all good.

3. Food- very underrated in every trip report I read, we ate mostly in the dining room and always found something to satisfy our very opposite tastes.

4. Entertainment- Something for everyone, do as little or as much as you like but don't forget to sleep at some point !

Respect to all of you
Anonymous and frozen in Canada
